I'm still rocking my Citi Custom Cash for gas and see it always being in that spot unless a new card catches my eye. Pairing it with the Citi Premier card one day will make it really powerful for me! Great breakdown here Josh!
Great video Josh! Love my BofA CCR for that 5.25% Gas .. works at Costco too! Online shopping is another great 3% category on this card, but that’s why having more than one is a great move! 😊
It looks like the above mentioned AAA card is not available for Minnesota residents. Also seems like Abound FCU now provides 5% for Gas and 1% on everything else. No rotating 5%
Awesome breakdown! I love the fine print details. I just subscribed! I can't wait to see the more videos you make. I do have a question. If I earn 5% cash back, are the points you earn on some credit cards separate rewards or are they part of the 5% cash back?
Hey, thanks for the support! Each credit card does rewards a bit differently. Some cards are purely cash back cards, while other cards are geared more toward travel. You need to be aware of what types of rewards a credit card earns, and what those rewards are actually worth when redeemed. Different cards have different options for redeeming rewards.
Chase Ink Cash gives 2X MR up to $25k, 75K SUB, and 5% on wireless/cable/internet. No AF and doesn’t take up a 5/24 spot. Most people could hit the SUB with gas, wireless, internet spend. You could get a new card/SUB each year. I charge my car at my house. I haven’t been to a gas station in a couple of years. I save so much by not buying garbage every time I filled up with gas.
If the convenient store codes as a gas station, yes. Some do, some don’t… it’s really dependent on how the individual location has it set up. I know the Quick Chek gas station convenient store near me codes as a gas station for example.
Great video here Josh! Some really unique Cards here as well! I'll be using the Citi Custom Cash for Gas here pretty soon when I get the Card, but the Costco Anywhere Visa is a super underrated Card too!
Sam's Club from Synchrony is my permanent 5% cash back card, although if it is a Flex category I will take the Chase points over straight cash. Of course when I could get 10% on a first year Discover quarter that was the best option. Inside a Sam's is pretty much the same as inside Costco, not as pretty but cheaper overall with more name brand options.
Do you know if the AAA Travel Advantage Visa Signature credit card can be used in gas stations in warehouse like Costco and still get the 5% cash back?
Great video! I saw it mentioned already but Wells Fargo autograph card is comparable to Bank of America customized cash with 3%, but is unlimited so it makes it better as well as a similar sign up bonus. Also has no foreign transaction fees. Another mention may be the Venmo credit card that gets you 3% on your top spend category and I believe it also has no foreign transactions fees but I may be wrong. No sign up bonus or anything like that though so not as great, but still an option to contend with the 3% cards at least
Yes, if you have the custom cash and rewards+, the points get pooled. When you redeem your points, you’ll get the 10% point bonus as a rebate. This is typically applied to your account within one billing cycle. You can use any redemption method except the share your points method to qualify for the rebate.
@@joshua.butler oh wow. Means I got some product changing to do. I have two double cashes one custom and a diamond coming in. I will convert one of the double cash to a rewards+. And once I've finished my business with the diamond I will turn that to a double cash since that has the largest cl and then turn the other double cash into a custom cash!
I don’t like how it gives you 3 cents to 25 cents back per gallon. That sounds way too variable for me when I can get a guaranteed 5% back all the time on gas. 5% back comes out to 20 cents back per gallon if gas is $4/gal

How have you never been inside of a Sam’s club? It’s nothing special to be honest 😂. Verizon you say? You’re fancy. I’m with T-Mobile 😅. Verizon is a little too expensive for my blood, I’ve never heard of red stone credit Union, but those rewards sound good. Isn’t Comenity bank (idk how to spell it) one of those sketchy banks? It feels that way 😂😂😂. So does this AAA card come with a AAA membership? 👀 This category was very important for me in the past, but, I fill up 1x per month now 😂😂😂😂, so I don’t like gas as a reward category as much as I used to. Excellent video Joshua!!! And don’t forget….I was first #TeamRoseGold

@@ImStillStealingSteelhow do you like the Card I might add it to my set up, I heard the point redemption isn’t a 1:1 penny per point Also does Walmart and Target code as groceries?
Yeah the issue with the penfed card is the points are worth about 0.85cpp, making this card a 4.25% card. I’d recommend the other credit union options in this video over that card unless you the PenFed card is easier for you.
@@terrelmoss1444 - I love the card. And yes, it isnt 1 for 1, but its still a gr8 card tbh. Walmart and Target does code for 3% back. I have a Target close by :) I mainly use this card for my Target items. Lol

With AAA cards, is it possible to own both? Or is it just one per lifetime?

Citibank custom cash for gas question... If its at a convenience store will it trigger the cash back?
If the convenient store codes as a gas station, yes. Some do, some don’t… it’s really dependent on how the individual location has it set up. I know the Quick Chek gas station convenient store near me codes as a gas station for example.
@@joshua.butler Thank you and I will give it a test run to see how they code.

@@__tebane7 I don't currently have it, but it's a great option for people who fill up their gas at Costco consistently!
I tried to include some hidden gems in here 🤩 Thanks Matt!
I own and use the AAA card. Only downside for me is there is no app for it. Have to log in their website
Slightly annoying…worth it for that cash back though!
Great gas cards! I like the Hilton cards, the Custom cash, PenFed Platinum card and Sam’s card for gas. Great video and information! ✌️

I'm with you on that one. Using CFF for Q3 myself.
Do you know if the AAA Travel Advantage Visa Signature credit card can be used in gas stations in warehouse like Costco and still get the 5% cash back?
It will get the 5% cash back as long as the warehouse gas station codes as gas (which it should).
