    This is was the first video i've been able to find that adequately describes how the DI and the audio interface work together, while still being short and to the point. Thanks!

    Finally a clear video demonstrating how to use a DI box. Absolute life saver!

    Wonderfully clear and concise! Thanks.

    This explanation was the best and most straight forward I've seen. Thanks for taking the time to make and post it!

    Thanks for this. My friend just recommended me this set-up so I canfiddle about with Logic amps (via DI) but also get my amp sound.
    I was trying to find out from this video whether the 'link' output on the DI box was what I needed in order to plug the guitar into the amp, and your video answered that question very clearly so thanks again.

    but then if you also use the DI and registers two tracks come out on the software grid right?

    Nice video thanks! any special acoustic treatment needed for the bass frequencies or it is not necessary for this amp you are using? thanks again!!!!

      Sure you can get your room treated if you can afford it. Alternatively work with mic and amp placement and if all that fails work with the DI signal

    This is simpler than I thought.
    So when I connect microphone to interface and connect DI to interface also, I can modulate microphone placement (or put effects etc.) with recorded session and the DI Box should give me different sounds? Is it how it works?

    • @VirtualVerghini
      @VirtualVerghini  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I like to experiment with the Di to see if I can get an even better sound than the mic.

      @@VirtualVerghini I wonder how does it works. Seems like fun to do.

    Hello nice video Do I absolutely need a DI box if im recording guitar ? I am using a scarlett 2i2 second gen with a shure57 on my amp and I realized that my signal was quite weak in the DAW theres so much headroom that I need to increse the volume on the track.

    • @lvllo3689
      @lvllo3689 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sm57 is not sensitive so make sure you turn up the gain pot and put the mic as close your amp. Turn up your amp too. You do not need the di box.

    hi do you recommend to use phantom power on Bass?

    • @VirtualVerghini
      @VirtualVerghini  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Phantom power is needed to power active DI boxes and condenser mics

      @@jojo-fj7lw phantom power is used to give power to the di box or the condenser mic (or lifter, if you're using a ribbon mic) That means that phantom power turns on your di or mic.
      Yes, most interfaces provide phantom power, including Focusrite Scarletts

    ok great video....thankyou.....
    Now what if the Bass amplifer wasn't powered but was instead a PASSIVE speaker? (300W : 8 Ohm)
    This is my problem atm.....please what am i missing here
    thx

    • @VirtualVerghini
      @VirtualVerghini  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then that would not be an amplifier. A passive speaker needs an amp to drive the speaker to move. You can still record via a DI and not even bother with the speaker or you could buy a small bass amp to connect to the speaker.
