I always liked the early postwar (WWII) U.S. Naval reserve colors with the orange band around the rear of the fuselage with the name of where the plane was based out of. I saw this particular "NAS Glenview" Corsair perform flybys at the EAA event at Oshkosh, WI a few years ago. Wonderful, Wright and P&W "round engine" sounds and thanks for sharing!
I saw a Corsair and Skyraider flying at the Military Aviation Museum in the Virginia Beach area a few months ago. They were an FG-1 and an AD-4 respectively.
5 eargasms before they ever took off and no cigarette breaks in between. Awesome !! So typical of airshows....if you listen at the 5:20 mark, you can hear airshow music blaring so loud that it cancels out the sound of the engines; just what every red bloodied aviation enthusiast that comes to an airshow to hear.....god awful loud music when engines are running. Never fails.
@@easttexan2933 I know what ur saying about the music and annoying commentary. I always try to stay away from the loud speakers as much as possible. You’re right, people come to hear the engines roaring! Thanks for watching
Yes, they were both used in Korea. But Corsairs were also used as ground attack aircraft. I believe that was the primary reason they were kept around, along with the P-51 Mustang, in the early years of the jet age.
@289Mustang67 Corsair was the last propeller driven fighter in production I think it ended in the 50s it outlasted every propeller-driven fighter plane. That makes it the king
Great video, but the Corsair model designation is F4U. Technically, the one in this video was built by Goodyear, not Vought, so it is an FG-1 and more specifically, an FG-1D Corsair. The U.S. Navy aircraft model designations were rather complex until the 1950's.

Definitely nice paint scheme and nose art on the sky raider. No problem I try to make airshow events in my area.
C'est tout simplement le génie américain ! Que Dieu protège les USA §
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Love those old war birds. Good video.
TY 🙏
2 Beautiful aircraft , Thank You .
Man, that A1 is a beast of a plane.
@@MrBobconner1952 Surprising how much larger it is compared to the Corsair.
@@charlesdudek7713 Isn't it? And I always thought the Corsair was a sizable aircraft. I've never seen them next to one another before this video
A bulldog with wings.
Nice! our RNZAF operated Corsair plane's in WW2 and I have seen Corsair warbirds at local Kiwi airshows... thanks mate 👍✈️🇳🇿

@@michaelmurray11189 impressive aerial display.
J'en veux encore 👌 😉
Nothing quite like the Sound of Round!
I 💯 percent agree 👍🏻
Wish more air shows would stop playing music or announcing while aircraft are flying… fine in between acts but not during.
I know, I try to get far away from those loud speakers, however the shotgun microphone still picks up on them. I agree it’s pretty annoying.

Spad flying clean 😆
1:19 and 1:38 Perfect framed moments.
My first T-38A instructor pilot flew A-1’s in SE Asia out of pilot training, Major Jim Mxxxxx.
Both models saw combat together in Korea. Corsairs escorted and flew top cover for Skyraiders

Quelle merveilleuse musique ! Corsair : F4U 4 ou F4U 7 ?
Not sure? You should be able to run the N number to see

@@stansdds Thanks for that information.
BIGGG BADDD SPADDD .... = Lil Dieter needs to fly ....
I grew up watching these. Jets are awesome but NOTHING beats a big prop and gasoline.
The Skyraider makes the Corsair look like a toy!!
It definitely has a better roar
plane sounds good loudspeaker music bad
Music !!
That IO-540 in the Corsair sounds mean
💯
