Zenoah G23LH 16:1 high compression build!

Some big challenges building an old engine with modern parts. As you watch the video, you will see the problems with old engines and new manufactured parts. When the G23LH engine was being manufactured it was owned by Komatsu in partnership with Zenoah. I am unsure of who was actually manufacturing the OEM parts. Today the new OEM parts are being manufactured by Husqvarna corp. this makes a challenge to get the right piston and ring gap. There is a difference. I did not measure in the video or when I had both pistons in front of me. I wish I would have. The piston taper is different causing binding issues with the cylinder wall at the top of the cylinder. However I did manage to find the piston that was in the engine when I took it apart many years ago. And an old OEM piston is clearly different than the new OEM pistons.
