i rather have the police officers have good pay than upgrade absolutely good working vehicles that just need regular maintenance. BUT
I do agree on upgrading vehicles that do not have a drive train of AWD or 4WD and retiring vehicles that are only RWD or FWD because we are in ALASKA where it SNOWS and it gets ICY.

APD, Another option for you: Intensify your vehicle maintenance program. You should be able to get more mileage from your existing fleet by analyzing and mapping the failure modes of your fleet and addressing the systems that fail----and service/replace those.

How about making the car companies we keep bailing out give you the cars. I mean our bailout money save them so they can pony up the cars.

Maybe if Anchorage did not spend their money on gay parades then maybe they would have a better police force and more shelters for the homeless
