Good lord, the first video I find where we're not guessing how to start up the aircraft. Made my checklist from this video, thanks!
Nice Video, One of my first commercial aircraft that I trained and worked on as becoming a commercial A&P Engineer / mechanic through TWA - Trans World Airlines. Many people don't know that the airlines will usually have the APU started before boarding as these APU exhaust is on the right wing and close to the window. The APU is positioned between the rear landing gear. As you have the 2 engine in the tail of most newer commercial planes of today have the APU in the tail. And if you have a APU hot start, then you see a flame come out of the exhaust and out the right wing freaking out the passengers. I remember flying on United Airlines and they didn't have the APU started at the gate and couple of passengers where freaking out because they saw the APU do a hot start with the flame out the wing and seeing by the window...I was sitting behind them and I laughed and said that it is OK, as the APU had a hot start as I am commercial A&P Mechanic and is very common cause of the long exhaust tube to the wing. My favorite plane in X-Plane. 721, 722 and 727F.
Everything turns on but i got no electrical to FMC. The HSI VOR distance indicator does not show up, and my autopilot doesn't work.
I'm following every step, what i'm doing wrong? The problem is HSI VOR distance indicator doesn't remove that white cover, the autopilot doesn't work and FMS doesn't turn on when starting the plane from "cold and dark" status.
I don't have these issues when starting from "already running engines"
I tried to click on one of the two switches behind the Captain seat and saw that the closest one is the cause behind the FMS and HSI VOR distance indicator not working, so i presume that the autopilot wouldn't work either as if that switch turns off all electricals (is that true? is that the switch that controls the electricals, instruments and autopilot?)
The problem is that even if click on it when starting from cold and dark, nothing happens nor changes, so apparently i found the cause behind but still don't have a solution and have no idea what to do.
Watched several cold and dark startup videos on YT but no one seems to have this issue...
I don't have these issues with any of my other planes, default ones nor Zibo, only 727.
I haven't flown this plane or XPlane in years. Something must have changed with an update along the way.
@@TheTallTurtle it's a very weird issue. The only thing that fixes it is startin with already fired engines or press the keyboard shortcut for "activate avionics on/off", cause even if i perfectly follow the startup procedure HSI and FMS keep turned off
Nice Video! One question, what am I doing wrong when the screen blacks out due to hypoxia. I turn that effect off in X-Plane and all is well. What causes this on the pressurization panel? I closed the cooling doors and it still blacks out, I open the cooling doors the same. Pressure altitude is set right to cruise and tried even 1000 feet higher same thing happens. Not sure what I have done wrong.
Even when you have it turned off in XP itself? I really have no idea! I never had hypoxia no matter how crazy I flew in XP with it turned off in XP. Maybe ask on the .org forums!
@@TheTallTurtle When the setting was turned on I am getting the black out and can not figure out where the issue lies. Now I keep it set off so I don't get that issue. Thanks for the response

do you see the ground mesh heights all around the base? how did you get these hills and raised grounds? i dont think HD Mesh or Ortho4XP can do such little detailed ground raises?
I believe that is part of the Pullman scenery package.
I have a problem when i takeoff i see 6 lights on the engine panel that lights up ALL THE TIME! I cant takeoff! Bacause the APU goes DOWN AND OFF automatticly! I try to get the gens up and nothing happens! I wasent like that the first time. HELP
Try asking on the FlyJSim Discord. They would love to know your issue and to help.
Its because i wasent clicing the FIX ALL SYSTEMS BUTTON!! LOL!

does this work with newer versions of x-plane 11
Yep, except the plane has half the drag and double the lift in XP11, so it's a bit tricky to fly. Version 3 of this aircraft is nearing completion at this time, however, and I will have a new Cold&Dark once it's released and I have a chance to take a detailed look at it!
Definitely having a problem activating the serial then. Thought it might be because I'm on 11.21
My APU EXH is stuck at 5 and i can't do s**t... :/
