FlyJSim 727 Series (V2) Tutorial | Newark to Bermuda [X-Plane 11]

- Welcome to another classic airliner tutorial in X-Plane 11, this time covering the FlyJSim 727 Series (in version 2), a complex 3-engine and 3-crew aircraft, flying a real world Cargojet route from Newark Liberty Intl (KEWR) to Bermuda L. F. Wade Intl (TXKF). We will have a look at all of the aircraft's features and setup options, power it up from a cold'n'dark state, learn how to manage the engines and the classic autopilot, do our descent calculations and approach the myth-enshrouded Bermuda area (and the myths seem to be true as it turns out).
Even though we are flying the older version 2 of the 727 Series, almost everything also applies to the most up to date V3 Professional. I hope you will enjoy :)

This is where an extra pair of hands if not two come in useful! A beautiful aircraft and a favourite of mine together with the BAe 146.....the 727 is quite a complex machine and I would love to see you flying her with the civa INS....fmc is too easy lol...enjoyed the video.....no worries about the landing.....you walked away and your cargo still boxed.......!!
If you had used the Carousel in real life, like I did for years in the DC8 and the DC10, you would pray to get a FMC! As a flight engineer, I started the INS, tested it and inserted the present position, then the pilots came to the plane and after their install(Seat, O2...), they checked the position. After that the PF inserted the 9 waypoints and the PNF checked those waypoints and because we made oceanic flights they prepared the DME updating by inserting the DME coordinates for those used for the updating...I love FMS!

Well played with the Bermuda triangle anomaly. I thought for a moment the flight had failed, because I went down just like that during a recent 727 flight. That was due to my incompetence in using the 727 autopilot (which is why I am here!) :D

How did you get JARDesign Ground Handling Deluxe to work on this aircraft? I have not been able to get it to work at all! I am using the Pro v3. This aircraft does love to float.
Hi there, as I'm using the older v2 in this video, I think that GHD worked with it out of the box. I'm sure several things have changed in v3 that affect GHD, but I thought JAR would also supply a set for v3...

I've been flying this plane for a while and I don't have that style FMC, mine is Xplane's default FMC.
How did you get the legit looking one ?
This is the older version 2 of the aircraft, not the most up to date version 3. V2 still has the option to use the 3rd party X-FMC that you can see in the video.

First of all, fantastic video and as they always are! So I just bought the 727 V3 and I really enjoy the aircraft, however, the autopilot is giving me trouble. I am using the default fmc, I have the flight plan entered correctly and everything looks fine. After takeoff when I engage the autopilot, everything functions except the knob will not allow me to switch it to AUX Nav. It springs right back to the initial position. I’ve tried looking through the manual and forums for an answer, but, to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Thanks a lot! Well I haven't encountered that issue myself, but did you try to flick the switch to Aux NAV while still on the ground before taking off? Maybe that could work. Cheers

Hmm that's strange. Did you try cycling through the NAV options of the aircraft?

It is the older V2 version of the 727 (not the most current V3), that's why there is the free addon X-FMC in the cockpit.

@@jurrasicking X-FMC is outdated for XP11, it was made for XP10. The default XP11 FMC should be better.

Hey Simulation Channel Deluxe, i need help. Beacuse when i'm trying to dial/twist my plane it wont, but when i'm in the air, i can dial it. I've tried to fix it, but it wont. Btw i'm using the mouse to steer. I can't manage the plane, do u have any tips? Please help.
Hey there, I don't fully understand what you mean with dialing and twisting. Do you mean steering on the ground while taxiing? I guess that can't be done with the mouse as it only controls aileron and elevator movement. For steering you have to setup some buttons for the rudder as well (I don't know if there are default keyboard commands for rudder already). Then taxiing might also work.

Nope, not possible to close Gen Breakers with engines not running. If they are running, you didn't put the generators online correctly. Additionally, you can never have APU power and Generator power at the same time.
