And even the best lose a few times. But, to play devil's advocate here, i didn't look up the games gian beat, so to say for sure who is the best we would need to see his and compare the most hard games and the amount of tries, we don't even need a full list, just the hardest ones and if he has the same games with most of them with less tries, than he is better. Btw, Jan has his in his twitch channel.

For example, Dark Souls, if person A beats DS3 faster (or with less problems) than person B, he is the better DS3 player, but if person B beated DS2, DS1 and Bloodborne faster (or with less problems) than person A, we could consider him the better Souls player overall. Same with pokemon, we can consider gian_97 a better Emerald Kaizou player than Jan, but consider Blue and Crystal Kaizo, Rising Ruby, Radical Red, Blaze Black and so on, and considering that we have no gamelist from gian, Jan is definitely the better pokemon player overall.

Okay not to sound stupid, but whenever you count resets when battling a gym leader like Maxie, are you resetting to the very beginning of the game and working all the way back up? Or are you just grabbing a new team from the box and going again? Because I’ve seen you restart runs before, but I’m never around for the streams and usually TH-cam is highlights. Might be more interesting to see you discard the sea serpent for a bit.

No it was because both moves have tier 1 priority, so when that happens it takes into account of speed, Arcanine is always faster than Hari so it always goes first with espeed.

Im pretty sure gen 4 and below all have fakeout and extreme speed set to the same priority (2) until the changed it so fakeout has like +6 priority now.

Does it not have any other offensive moves? Why would it not Rock Slide his Xatu? Did he Encore it and I just missed the fact that he Encore'd it?
My guess would be that the Donphan is choice locked which he must've figured out during the battle. Choice Band exists in Gen 3, but applies a boost on attack power and not on the stats as it will in Gen IV onwards.
