It is so weird that some people criticize the project because it was haphazardly pushed. There was an international competition more than a year back to develop designs in the central vista area. Designs we submitted judges voted over months, It was clear from the beginning that it is to be ready before 75th independence day. So how was it pushed ? not every project in India should take decades just to plan, and then miss 10 deadlines

In today's world, our nation needs specialists like doctors for the medical department, engineers and economists for the technical department, and experienced defense personnel for the defense department but we are promoting generalists ( bureaucrats) in these fields of strategic importance. Lol the idea of competing with big economies is absurd when India is struggling to survive.
The current building is so old that we dont even have proper blueprints of it, we have no idea of the building is even earthquake proof or not. This project should have been built years ago.
Regarding delhi I am sure the chances of massive earthquake like nepal or Japan are rare as per seismologically

It's very strong the thing costs 6bn to be built in recent days it is the costilest building in the world

The growth in population isn't homogeneous as states like UP and Bihar has seen a rise in population drastically while the states in South and east hasn't seen such exponential increase... The Family Planing and population Policy introduced by the Indian govt at time suggested changes to which south incorporated quite efficiently while the north couldn't... An increase in the MPs now would only result in the accumulation of power in Both Houses of Parliament to the Northern states while penalising the rest states... How treacherous of the present government to change the electoral structure and yet divide this nation once again to what we could see in the US! Time is of an essence but I can provide the evidence of US changing the electoral constituencies to benifit one party and class, while marginalising other communities...

I have only one question: why most PM Narendra Modi projects are backed by Gujarat Businessmen and architectures. It's open on public platforms and someone has to answer about that.
At the end of the day it has to be someone. In this case a Gujarati won the bid to construct it.

Not hastinapur but indraprasth is delhi. Maurya empire was based in patliputra and had 2 other capitals, none of which were in delhi. No great empire had its base in delhi.

I first was of the opinion that the govt should divert the funds to more urgently needed projects (via. a special resolution of whatever the proper formality is). But your point is right. If the Modi govt. doesn't win a full majority next time, the work could be delayed yet again.

good point of view, but i feel that though it was very necessary to be built but it could have been deferred a month or two, central vista alone was not the problem of people but the fact that all the political parties were playing blame game when the country died without oxygen, the pm didn't appear for a briefing till the cases started going down. plus comparing a pandemic with a financial crisis or any other cyclic event is like comparing apples and oranges

The project is a great one , will help us to match with the other countries in infrastructure but the the government priorities and some statements made were at the wrong time at the wrong place.

Regarding hdi just browse through th United Nations site, the criteria or factors are clearly laid. The gap is not closing, it's slipping down, and please don't compare with America or China for everything. A country with 70 yes of independence is not infant, remember some countries in Europe and also Japan were ravished by war and poverty, now look at where they are now.

5:58 New Tamil Nadu Legislative assembly (although converted to a super specialty hospital now) was constructed to improve the infrastructure, facilities, security features and not because of the increase in the population or to number of MLA's, as its seats are 234 since 1960's, also TN assembly Fort St. George is much older and was built in 16th century unlike the Indian Parliament complex which was built in 1920's. Providing more number of MP's seats to states with higher population who've failed to take population control measures unlike their southern counterparts will create a serious impact on the southern states in the decision/policy making process, its more like punishing the brighter students of the class than rewarding them.

AIIMS Gorakhpur and AIIMS Raibareli have also built by modi government in UP. Whole defence corridor are being in construction in UP by Modi government.

I support the project. Govt. spending occurs in all the fields and it doesn't depend on whether pandemic is there or not. Health ministry has got it's share and every Indian can take the vaccine for free.. Can't the states arrange the left over works needed.

I do support this delimitation but the problem is it is going to give representatives to states which have failed to control the population. My sincere openoon is instead along with population they should include new alternative factors like quality governance and birth control or else if delimitation is done solely on population than it would effectively take representation from states which have controlled population . Southern states would be worst hit coz states like kerla have taken efforts for population control in 50s while northern states started it it 90s. Already they have those narratives like dravida nadu etc for this . Modi gov should be cautious while implementing delimitation so that birth controlling states aren't penalized.
@@dog6376 Bruh! Southern states are already paying more compared to what they get from centres coffers. Alone souyh gives 28% to centres coffers and centre gives back only 15% . In 60s indira gandhi advised birth control to indian states south executed it with full loyalty so today wwe definitely want to be rewarded. Southern states top in no of parameters in HDI , economy etc hence we definitely deserve more representation. South only gives 130 seats to loksabha and up gives even more than half of south. This should stop. With delimitation this difference would increase further.
Delimitation is essential for good administration but atleast centre should give special provisions for southern states to avoid penalized from centre .
And south indiams are too brave. Just research abt our kings . Forget today's karnataka in past during reign of rashtratukas ot was spread from madurai to varanasi . Judt check how much land cholas captured from south east Asia. Today marathis take fierce pride in their language but they forget the fact that this language was first used by telugu satvahanas for first time and they ruled large part of north also .

1.) an open competition was held 1 year before this ( so not pushed, every interested person knew this)
2.) parliament is only 1000 cr while the entire amount is spread over multiple phases/years. So a miniscule amount actually
3.) to put in perspective Maharashtra (a state) is building a MPs accomodation worth 900 cr.
Also u forgot to mention a imp point: pre-1947 building ( built by british) wont be touched..Essentially Modi is not leaving behind any legacy, just a New building which will house 800+ MPs...👍🏻👍🏻 & Common secretary building ( to save rent)...👍🏻👍🏻. All unplanned buildings removed tats all (built during 1947 - present). Essentially Renovation work going-on. 👍🏻👍🏻

Increasing MPs wont increase governance but corruption. Why isnt there a education standard in place for selecting MPs? There will never be and this country will rot not flourish unless education is given a priority especially for selecting MPs. The current ministers chosen by Modi government consists of 42 per cent of MPs that have criminal cases against them. What a shame.

If you think about it considering all the pros and cons, having an educated entity at the top of any working hierarchy would anyday beat having someone who is not literate. And I completely take your point that many sections of our country are education deprived. And I guess you would agree that an educated leader would do everything in his power to bring about education in the country compared to the current lot of our ministers.

The funding for central vista project and funding for fighting pandemic are coming from two different sources
For fighting pandemic funding is coming from pm cares fund and for central vista project it is from govt of India and there is plenty of money left in pm cares fund
So halting central vista project will bring no benefit in providing money for fighting pandemic
Besides, the real issue during the second wave wasn't the lack of money but the lack of capacity to produce oxygen and the lack of infrastructure to distribute across the country. Neither would be solved by throwing money as these things need time to resolve.
For increasing population their shd be hospitals educations and employment opportunities and not such waste of money

I heard that lot of buildings are leased to house MP's( Guest house and residential buildings) , the cost to maintain these buildings is soo high and this is also one of the reason to have new buildings in vista project.

Central Vista project is a development project to facilitate the ministerial working and cater to unaccommodating office spaces in various ministry. Essentially it is more of a facility development project rather than a project for aesthetics. The goal is to develop efficient office spaces without any ostentation. (come on, do you think sarkari babu need these)
The design by bimal Patel ticks all the right boxes and provides better traffic flow management. And the idea of underground metro connecting all the secretariat buildings wraps the the traffic into a secure isolated bubble.

The money spent on Central Vista is nothing when compared with all the other expenses the GoI does every year.
