The chopper on which CDS Late Gen Rawat and his wife crashed in was a Russian Mil Mi-17V chopper and not a ALH as shown in the video. Bisbo regrets the error.

Yes Aircraft engines technology is Evolved but RD33 engine also modified for modern requirements... Where as US also flying aircrafts with late 80s Designed GE414 engine also manufacturing block 3 Version of FA18 Super hornets with same engines

83 Tejas Mk1A is scheduled to be delivered from next year February, order signed in 2021.
Tejas Mk1 and Mk1A will use GE 404.
GE414 is for Tejas Mk2, AMCA Mk1 and TEDBF.
Also Bipin Rawat died in Mi-17V5 not ALH Dhruv... Dhruv is actually a lot more reliable than the Russian choppers.
Last mile delivery was performed by HAL Cheetah and Chetak, not Dhruv. It is to be done by LUH, which is in Limited Series Production stage.

10:55 The Mig-29 UPG uses the latest version of the RD-33 Klimov engines which Pakistan uses for its JF-17 as well. Top PAF officers have praised the engine on many accounts.

12:37 The ALH's have been in operation since long (Aug 1992). The maintenance personnel didn't follow instructions and the blunders led to a couple of crashes recently. This is accidental or deliberate sabotage.

An informative and entertaining watch, as always. That said, the plural of aircraft is ‘aircraft’. Also, kilonewtons (kN) is usually used as a unit to measure thrust of jet engines, not normally to measure the aircraft’s weight. Finally, jets such as these don’t burn petrol, but a variation of Jet A-1 (closely related to kerosene). Cheers!

The engine that you're referring to came after the transfer of technology which was already late by the time it got commissioned ask any military aviator and they'd be able to speak in more detail

the main problem is manufacturing speed. the LCA MARK1A order was signed in 2022 while the aircraft was certified even before than and the first jets are only coming in 2024 due to HAL's facility being space constrained. i hope they expand their facility. As for the chopper's the Dhruv's problems have largely been fixed and is set to replace the cheetah/chetak's soon, with HAL's new Tumakuru facility launched, i atleast expect the chopper issues to be fixed
I hope they provide tech transfer to private organisations that can make the planes including engines in India ...

Please get some education. Unlike F-16/18/35 which get orders in 100's even 1000's , LCA got orders in 20's . You cannot put an assembly line within a budget for small number of planes. Each Zig/Station in an Assembly line should build over 2 dozen planes to be cost effective.
So LCA's delivery schedule depends ONLY on size of order and trained technicians. Its not an IT project that engineers from any branch can come and work in it.
ALH only had two auto rotation landings due to Aluminum control sticks having issues. This is being replaced by steel on all planes after the issues has been identified. I haven’t read any other serious issues with ALH and our air force and Army are happy with ALH and Prachand. Prachand being one of the best light attack helicopters in the world today.

To be frank we must take in account that although the commissioned service of aircraft is 20 years but still the airframe was made in late 1980s
Guys read about A-10 land attack aircrafts, they are almost 50 years old and still in use by USAF. For god's sake F22 Raptors are more than 20 years old but still in use. Yes, our MiG-29 are old but at the same time they have been upgraded to UPG standards which is one of the most advance upgrades in the world. Our Su-30 mki are also upgraded and next upgrade is SS (Super Sukhoi) which will be game changer because it will make it as good as new with new engines, new radars, new avionics and stealth body which will reduce it's RCS. On other hand we have made in India Tejas, the most advanced Light Combat Aircraft in the world, yes it is under development for almost 40 years but it is one of a kind because it is 4th gen aircraft and it is already been inducted in both IOC & FOC standards. Fun fact, in the 40 years of development Tejas has never been crashed once. The Mk-1 is a bridge between 4th gen & 4.5th gen then next year we have plan to make the first flight of Tejas mk-2, the 1st 4.5 gen aircraft of India. We already have all the necessary ammunition and missiles of Russian, European, American and Indian origin, all of them are tried and tested already. Now, talking about the MiG-21 that all civilians call "The Flying Coffin", well sure they have passed their life but still it is a dream to fly those jets for many flying officers because of their history. You guys should read about it, it's epic how the very first squad of these jets got the name "The First Super Sonics", that these jets are capable of mach 2, that these very jets were once the ace of Indian Skies and these very jets were romanticised by many pilots. Well, they have been grounded,i believe this month and rumors are they are under maintenance, refit and upgrade. Their place has been taken by Flying Dagger and Flying Bullets both Tejas Squads on western front of India.
And, let's let IAF do what they do best. Protect our Air Space from our adverseries.

@@SuperImbadude That's a BS argument mate. The US made the F-15s and F16s in the 80s and they still operate them large numbers and don't have any plans to retire them any sooner. Infact the F-15 EX is considered as the world's best non-stealth fighter. Most of the fighter jets flying today were developed in the 70s and 80s.
India need more upgraded aircraft , so that we can get upper hand on both pak and China. It is also imp to develop indigenous defense technology and not to depend on west who will change their side for their interest(like usa helping pak for maintenance of defense equipments). Similarly russia also shared its tech with china(like s400) so we should not relay on other countries. Jai hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Sorry, the real flying coffins are the Mig27s which were phased out. The Mig 27 was an experimental plane developed by Russia as a swing wing plane.

This video is filled with so many inaccuracies, might take me a few hours to point out. Bisbo, I do like and appreciate your content but please do a proper and thorough research about what you are presenting before the audience. While I do understand the crux of it, the situation in which Indian Air Force finds itself is very difficult and unfortunate, because of years of ignorance from successive governments, but lot of things were put in a wrongful manner. Indian audience is not very well informed about these aspects, lest we need is famous youtubers like you to misrepresent facts. Tejas uses American Ge404 engines, this issue was sorted out a decade ago, so no need to bash out on this aspect. The issue was with indigenous Kaveri engine, which was not able to produce an adequate thrust of 85 KN for Tejas, as required by the IAF, it was able to produce 73-75 KN with afterburners. The 26 Rafale deal for the Indian Navy, wasn't meant to be signed during PM's visit to France. It was a mere declaration, that the Indian Navy decided Rafale - M as their choice of fighters for INS Vikrant, and India will procure them from France. This deal proceedings will expectedly take place for a year and then the deal will be signed. Defence deals are very complex in nature and they take their time. Point blank accusation on the PM that he didn't made the deal is very stupid and childish, in my opinion. Hope, you take the criticism constructively. Keep up the good work!

Its just incapablity of IAF. it does take 50 years to replace a aircraft. MRFA is till date a joke. atleast Indian navy is capable and selected aircraft in months compared to IAF which is doing the same since 2014
Tejas is very much a capable jet. It's engine is not unstable, you are wrong there. And while we are very much delayed and late to build our jet it is not out dated in any sense. It comes with top of the line technology and top end mechanics with fly by wire to radar to missiles and to a jet which is made 80% in India by Indian companies that developed the technology all in India with support of HAL, ADA, DRDO, etc.
Mig 21 is the core issue, but you have chosen Mig29 as the thumbnail and handpicked a single mig29 incident?
There is no comparison b/w mig21 and 29, Mig29 is a 1 full generation ahead of 21!!
sir General Rawat sir was not flying in a druv helicopter it was mi 17v5 Russian built helicopter and it was up to date to modern standards as PM Modi also travels in the same helicopter.

I beg to disagree on ALH capabilities as the crash of General Rawat happened in MI 17 V5 and the ALH has been developed to MK4 version already with Shakti Safran engine and highly advanced avionics and composite fuselage. However it is true there is still some improvement to be made on certain parts which are common for aviation products but the helicopters itself are quite matured with more than 300,000 flight hours and the rate of accidents is well below international standard. In regard of LCA, it was not an Engine issue with GE F-404, the issue of delay was to develop indigenous avionics and radar systems to part away from current IAI ELTA system and it has been successful leading into newer version of MK1A and the production rate is scaling up to 25 aircrafts per year. Also on Jaguar, the engine already is being replaced with locally developed Adour engine fitted with HAL developed FADEC system. It is one thing you need to look into is HAL capability in developing in house parts and components manufacturing which all of non electronic parts are already sourced with HAL devision and to minor scale to Indian companies while the electronic parts are mostly developed through local suppliers already. Wearers helicopters might look nice and capable but they never share you full technical detail even in maintaining the aircraft at depo level or overhaul level and your spare parts are available per their purview not ours. The lives have been lost in Mig 21s and my heart goes out to them and the families. However Mig 29 still holds a better and safer record than the Mig 21. Purely because of twin engines. No other aircraft had twin engines as a fighter jet in India before the mig 29. Sukhoi 30s came later. Mig 29 is still a magnificent fighting platform. Jai Hind.

I agree with you completly many countries are upgrading their jets yet India is dependable on its old fighter jets Indian goverment should properly use today's technology to build jets .India goverment should not bet on life of pilot over old jets
Mig 29 are still good enough and have good service life remaining specially after being upgraded to upg standards . And we will induct 180 Tejas mk1A with the rate of 24 unit per year . After 2030 we will induct 200 Tejas mk2 and couple of years later we will have 40 AMCA mk1 and 108 more with indigenous engines .

It's ridiculous that MIG 21s are still used for defense. If you have the third biggest defense budget, I assume you should be able to give these pilots best machines in good working conditions. There's so much a great pilot can do in those flying coffins.

Exactly, i came to comment the same thing. ALH is good platform I think and the recent issues which were causing ALH to disfunction is found out and is resolved I think, it is that two left and right parts are being interchange during maintenance in ALH causing issues which is being rectified as I saw in one video

@@cabpenguin. the issue was with the rotating shaft which was build using an Aluminium alloy. Now its been changed with steel alloy. All the ALH are undergoing this change and by Oct 2023 all them will be back in action
