Myself as well. If you see the official video of those as Standing Rock... This will always be one of my many favorites of Nahko and Medicine for the People.
The 1st time I heard this was like discovering Nahko all over again.. it was Aloha revisited for me and the beginning of many more layers of Truth expressed in Love to be realized.. Nahko is Not just another musician but a Musical Shaman who is changing the lives of those who will open up their Hearts to The Truths that were buried long ago by the lies of society .. Peace
***** Thanks Sean.. But considering the way He restored my Hope in our Species it is the very least i can do.. Thanks again for your encouragement.. Peace
+randywatchingbuyea i agree with sean, when i go to a medcine/ nahko concert ...i will look for you...take that as a complament .... ill ask to hug you/ hand shake
+randywatchingbush I could not agree more! i first found Nahko through the black as night acoustic video and hearing this song recreated that amazing feeling all over again. Listening to his music and hearing what he has to say has changed me so much, it's opened me to this new spiritual reality that I was blind to.
Just can't get enough of his words, his voice, his message that lead me to feelings about nature, about the universe, about Source. Yes Randywatchingbush Nahko is a Musical Shaman who takes us to other levels, layers, and worlds. BLESS THE TRUTH TELLERS.
Nahko, you saved my life man. Your music is so uplifting, but true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Keep bringing your beautiful, truthful, and needed messages to our world. We desperately need them! Much love my brother in peace!

+Andrea Tummons the beers line is this -- beers starts the next line :) I think this might be the most beautiful song I've ever heard, thanks so much for transcribing it! And our fears, are the same as they ever were Beers numb the pain of our holocaust years
+Smith Wesson Anti-white racism are you serious? Nahko is NOT anti 'white', and he isnt racist either. You just have no idea how to comprehend poetry and put a deeper meaning to it and actually put some though into it.
It is anti-establishment, anti-system and that may seem anti-white to some people but if you take a deeper look into his music and history and what is happening in the world then you will understand where he is coming from.....
I think Smith Wesson is saying that he understands that the message is to fight the racism. His choice of words were easily misconstrued. I don't think he meant that Nahko is anti white or racist. Smith understands that that most of the racism was started with white racism. Hence "anti-white racism." Smith did say it was beautiful songwriting.
+Fer Herwaarden I saw them perform this song in December and it was amazing but I didn't fall completely in love with it until I saw this session right here. so heartfelt. definitely love medicine for the people
madi pruitt that's awesome. I listened to it all day everyday to, I had to know all the words! P.s. you are amazing, me and my kids Love your cover of Warrior people and uncle jo, so all the views on your videos are coming from us lol :-*

+Roy Dusenbury thanks!!!!! we will have another performance together in April!!!!! hopefully I'll get some good quality video of just him and I singing backstage
Where in April? I love your version of Uncle Jo! I enjoyed it immensely and have shared it many times. I love what TH-cam and social media has done in offering a platform for artists that you won't hear on the radio. Thank you for your contribution to the movement!!
+Roy Dusenbury thanks so much! I appreciate it a whole lot❤ we will be performing at the Euphoria festival in Austin Texas. I will also be performing with twiddle. Nahko and I did a version of uncle Jo a few months ago but the video is on his phone, its also like 20 minute long. but yeah!! I have more music on my Facebook page then I do on TH-cam sadly

I decided to help somebody who I didn't really want to today. Because of this song.
Gosh you're inspiring.
Hearing this live brings tears. Tears of buried burden, joy, and peace. That night was straight bliss!
I can't listen to this song without crying.
So many parts to a heavy heart!
I still cry to this song even after months. it's everything to me.
same girl, same. the resonance is so powerful
I showed this song to my mother today

Dear Angels in heaven, please protect this beautiful soul.
Nahko! I can't get enough medicine. Every song is a miracle.

So powerful
That's some good medicine right there
This music moves me.
thank you
Pure feeling
Give, Always give what you can
Even if your allies draw lines in the sand
And dig, always dig a little deeper
Sometimes it’s hard to be my brother’s keeper
Love. So you let love in
Baby I am home in the wake of your skin, and it’s crazy
How we wear our ceremonies
Always be open to your path and your journey
Yes, she cradles my loneliness
A home in a forest nest
Universal test, feel the weight of my love put your hand on my chest
And rest
In the cradle of my arms
The battle that we face is a place where our scars come from
And to pick up that gun
My love we are destined to teach these ones to be brave
And never run away
Courage is birthed from the womb on the first light of day
Yeah, the day you were born you came out perfect never meant to be torn
In silence, never been so loud in the violence
Never been so proud of a people
When we’re fighting for a change, not afraid to lose it all despite all the rage
We are animals
And we cannot be caged
Provoke us to fight
So we burn a little sage and write poetry
Wiser than the enemy will ever be
The minority
And authority
Are you here to protect or arrest me?
I can’t tolerate the hate, and we’re losing sleep
Can’t breathe because they’re choking out a war in me
Immorality
[Chorus]
Love letters to God
Wonder if she reads them or if they get lost
In the stars, the stars, in the stars
So many parts to a heavy heart
If there’s no beginning, then where would you start?
Start, start, where would you start?
[Verse 2]
Human souls, so we carve them to a story Totem poles
Because we’re always searching for a certain goal
A pattern of physics, a role
Don’t believe all you’re told
And open
Open up your fist
A misconception, you can fight like this
In praise. With the power of prayer
If God’s on our side we can take the stairs
To the heavens
Flipping through my chapter seven
I live with the snakes in the great deception
No court, in this country for men
Who steal from their mother on paper with pen
And we’re tripping
Down a red dirt road
And we’re asking
Is this the way we should go?
Kissing, soft top feet of my goddess
We walk the earth, baby yeah we got this
Focus, and it’s redirected
Grateful, and I’m resurrected
Stubborn, But I know the way
You’re the skin of my drum
To your rhythm I will sway
Take my hand
I won’t lead you astray
We will not go gently into the darkest of days
Grandma’s here, and she says persevere
Take a walk in her mocks sees a trail of tears
And our fears, are the same as they ever were beers[?]
Numb the pain of our holocaust years
Always mobbing and motion
Maybe, baby be an island over an ocean
Your arches, how they bend and contract in my Conscious
Never slipped through the grip of my thesis
And my theory is I shine in your presence
A deliverance
[Chorus]
Love letters to God
Wonder if she reads them or if they get lost
In the stars, the stars, in the stars
So many parts to a heavy heart
If there’s no beginning, then where would you start?
Start, start, where would you start?
Wow. And I thought the studio version was good... amazing song and musician.
Apparently 1 in every 100 people are tone deaf. Great song by a true talent!
