I see what you mean, how can God throw us this? But you see, this we are experiencing now is just a replay of what has been happening since man began to wanting to conquer and win. And everytime, we have fought it, rebelled against what we have called 'evil'. My heart also sings with gratefulness for the brave protectors risking everything to stand up for Mother Earth and the rights of all people to have clean water to drink. I´m from Europe and as I learent as a kid that the whites in america stole the land and put the tripe in reservation centers like animals I couldn´t belive it. Now it is still so surreal becouse it is so filled with hate. There are white americans who say to native americans "go back where you cam from!" uhm how about you? go back to europe? No? No matter You Walk of Life or where you're from no matter what color your skin is.. anybody that actually listens to this.. everyone can take something from this. I first heard Nahko when I was in rehab for opiate abuse 14 months clean right now from opiates.. first song I heard was Wash It away the gondola version. About halfway through it I actually heard what he was saying.. and it broke me. But in a good way. This man's music continues daily to have a huge part in my recovery and in saving my life.
I'm eternally grateful for that.

I heard the song Wash It away gandola version in rehab and that was the changing point in my life. S song I ever heard by this gift to humanity was this song.
And even though he may be singing with something very specific in this video... We all take music and we personalize it.
His music is a gift. Accept it listen to it let it into your heart mind and soul and take from it whatever you can.
And for those of you that are struggling out there with whatever it may be... Just keep getting up everyday put one foot in front of the other and only look back as a reference. Keep pushing forward and you can do it. If you think you can't do it then you'll correct you can't. If you know that you can and you think that you can and you are correct. The choice is yours.

I've long felt a strong affinity for the spiritual practices of native people, particularly Native Americans. People who see nature & the universe as god (and female), rather than something merely responding to a big male God boss. Because of this, this is one of my all time favourite videos. I played this video to my family today. However rather than finding it inspirational, they felt it rather depressing. This made me carefully consider what it was I found so up lifting. I think it's because of the deep underlying unity, going back many centuries, that has brought all these people together for the most noble of all causes; to very bravely, yet peacefully protect something of huge value and consequence. While the very frightened underpaid men opposing them, instinctively know the injustice being perpetrated and for their part, are now forever condemned to a life of shame. Might doesn't not equate to right.
Thank you very much for the words to express the pain, anger, hope, courage and LOVE so many of our brethren feel, either in the past, present and unfortunately the future.
