I have always been in love with arai RX-7V, they have some nice designs and they are very safe. BUT this helmet blew my mind! I don't care that it is much more expensive than the RX7V I just have to have it. It's just beautiful wow wow wow
i was struggling deciding between this and the regular glossy. the iridium is def sick.. but i decided to get the original glossy because i preferred the slightly warmer tones whereas the iridium is more blue/purple colder tint. i typically mount gold visors and my bike is red as well.
How is it overkill? It offers the best form of protection for your head. Surely on street use where there is a danger of getting hit by cars and other vehicles it’s worth it?
@@willroberts2773 For street use, less expensive helmets will be equally safe. I have an arai corsair x, 6d ats 1r and the pista as well, all helmets are great. Pista is expensive cos of materials, race specific features, aero, etc
I've got a brand new 1290 Super Duke R an with a completely naked bike with no wind protection. I need a helmet that cuts through the wind. Anything over 80 mph my Aria is smashing my face. That's by far the sickest carbon helmet I've seen thanks for the video I'M GONNA BUY ONE!! 🤙🏼
@@B1n4ryXpl0it don’t expect the wind noise to be any good. You have to wear ear plugs cause its around 107db on the highway. But honestly its so sick i’ll probably end up buying one tbh

I was considering on moving to the AGV Corsa R and then modifying the helmet with the Real Twill carbon fiber and iridium finish to look the same as this crazy helmet. I really love the shade of this helmet - Iridium Carbon finish 🔥 Stepped down for this Pista GP RR cause 1) it's a track only helmet, and might not be suitable for daily use although some use it for daily commute (need to wear earplugs always) and 2) the visor has only two lock positions, fully open and fully closed. Can't open it half way through like other helmets (since it's a track oriented helmet) 3) the vents can't be opened and closed like other helmets which is kind of useful and can be switched back and forth whenever needed... whereas in this helmet it's a rubber kind of thing which we can remove... Usually people remove it, but during monsoon, the water would get in since it's open...and having it on the helmet is also a problem, since we might loose one.

( my english is not the best sorry😅 ) but i do agree that the vents are a bit annoying if you can only have them open or closed by the rubber things you have to take off and on. a buddy of mine has one i think he has the GP RR glossy carbon and he loves it. always commutes to work with it since he doesn’t even own a car lol. His only complaint is the noise but now he always wears ear plugs and its fine now. I hope they make the corsa R in this iridium finish that would be perfect!

Corsa R is a good helmet which can be used for both track and street...One good thing which I've found is that the rear spoiler of the Pista GP R fits Corsa R as well... And the visor too. Since Corsa R can be used for the street, I guess it can eliminate the wind noise to some extent...even the shell construction is different!
That is awesome, my wife wants this helmet so bad. unfortunately wont be available for me to buy until February, It looks amazing. I own the AGV Pista RR Performance, and the X-lite 803RS ultra carbon. But this Iridium by far looks way way way better because of that color change. I cant for it. Awesome content man. @@jeremydicenzo6898 this is true that the visor really only works fully open/closed. It doesn’t stay in a slightly open position. This isn’t really an issue on track. For everyday use, which this helmet is a bit overkill for anyway, it could be an issue. My Arai Corsair X helmets I can adjust the visor to be open a little bit for better ventilation while riding. Same thing with my Shoei X-14 helmets as well, I can open the visor slightly for better ventilation.

Hello, looking to buy this helmet specifically. Is there a difference between the mono iridium carbon helmet and the iridium carbon? In your video you say iridium carbon but on their site all I see is "mono iridium" and it seems to have blue and purple tints unlike yours just purple.
Really want this helmet but like you said it overkill for street but damn what a beautiful helmet. I might pull the trigger even just for daily street riding due to have beautiful it is.
@@alessiomira434 not bad at all. Very light weight and comfortable. Wind noise is a bit loud but nothing that bothers me. Haven’t tried with music so I don’t have a say in that. I did stop using it though because now I see almost everyone using itso I switched to Arai Corsair X Kiyonari
My head has a 58cm circumference. In Shoei (and Arai) helmets I’m a size Medium. In this AGV, I’m a size MS (Medium Small) which is the size that corresponds to my head circumference on AGV’s sizing chart. Just measure your head, and use that as a guide with the manufacturer sizing chart. You definitely don’t want your helmet to be loose. So if your Shoei in size XL is loose, look into changing the pads for a better fit. Or perhaps you’ll know for next time to size down. Definitely want a snug fit.
@@CountGreffi i am 58.5 cm and i can not fit into the M-S. Its to tight and hurt my forehead. M-L was a better fit. U can costumize with pads to fit. We all have different head shapes.
I haven’t tried actually. I have a Cardo Pack Talk, but it isn’t installed in this helmet. I’m sure one could fit, although it is very snug inside the helmet.
I’m not sure. I will say that some fluorescent colored helmets come with a warning that says the fluorescent color will fade over time with sun exposure. I don’t know if this helmet will fade over time though.
I actually didn’t think about putting any coating on the helmet. I would assume you mean some sort of ceramic or protective coating. I don’t think I would do that, in fear of damaging the helmet. I have so many helmets, I don’t wear each one that often where it would get scratched up anyway.
@@CountGreffi The finish on these is very tough and comparable to a polyurethane auto finish. Ceramic is a great idea on any helmet. I do all mine. Not only does it help it look great gloss-wise, but more importantly protects the original finish by having a "sacrificial" layer over it. Removal of bugs and other road gunk is much easier as well.
Of course, you could wear this on the road. It is just a very aggressive helmet, made for the tuck position, with a snug fit. Though fit and comfort are subjective. I personally find it to be better suited for the track over the street, and I believe there are better street options. It’s a stunning looking helmet though, albeit an expensive one. I’m sure it would look boss AF with your Ducati.
I wear a size medium in Arai & Shoei, in this helmet I wear a size MS. My head circumference is 58cm, and using AGV’s sizing chart it said to go with the MS. Fit is perfect, definitely wouldn’t want to size up as this should fit snugly.

That’s all subjective and relative to speed. At speed this thing cuts through the air perfectly, and you don’t feel it. But the helmet is loud inside due to the air flow. It’s a track helmet, it’s not for a long 4 hour jaunt. It’s perfect for riding 30 mins at the track, then taking it off and putting it on a fan to dry it out between sessions.
I personally wouldn’t, for a few reasons. Firstly, you can’t close all the vents on the helmet. This means it’s not for colder weather, which I would want in an everyday lid. Second thing, it’s not as comfortable to wear all day as an Arai Corsair X or Shoei X-14. But that’s just my opinion, and you may find it’s suitable for you. I just have so many helmets in my collection, I choose to not wear it as a daily. Hope that helps.

Just got this helmet in the mail a couple days ago. I'm not impressed with the way it looks. I thought it was gonna look better than it does. It's kinda bland and boring. Needs some color to it. Glossy black carbon, Winter test 2018 and 19 are all better looking helmets in my opinion...
We can agree to disagree. I do like the Futuro, but I’m not a fan of the blue vents on that helmet. Though I really like the blue visor it comes with. I also prefer the symmetrical design of the carbon weave on the Iridium helmet better. Provides a cleaner look, which is not as loud. I have plenty of “loud” helmets, sometimes I like it more subtle.

Yes, you need to press that button in to open the visor. The visor is locked into place when shut, so it’s a more secure closure. You can’t really ride around with the visor slightly ajar to vent air. It’s either full open, or full closed.

The lid doesn’t stay open ajar a bit to just vent air. It’s either full open, or fully closed.
Over £1000 for a lid. It's beautiful but as you said it's deffo not for the streets. Sub £500 lid will do me for now.

It has a ECE rating that is higher than SNELL. This helmet is also FIM approved for use in MotoGP. So it’s made for and accepted at race tracks.

The iridescent paint on this changes with every angle of the sunlight. It’s gorgeous in person, the whole helmet shines when outside in the light.
