In India since ancient times its always been a practice to link even the mundane with the Divine, worship of nature, seeing Divinity in a stone - Shivling, chores were done taking the name of the Divine, also known as kirtan or bhajan, or as Guruji does reminiscing the Divine through chants, or stories, and even sex was linked to the divine and that's how tantra came into being. And doing that transcends the ordinary into extraordinary from gross to subtle and therefore everything is sacred.
It was really nice to have sweet Padmini as guest. It’s interesting that the Divine Romance was so affecting for her as I too found it to be such a treasure trove of answers to spiritual questions (and such as easy straightforward way to deal with them). I actually got chills as soon as she started talking about it. - This morning I had been thinking of request the chant “No birth, no death, no caste have I”;and then Priyank brought it in. Synchronicity. Re the tamal tree: I had assumed it must be common in India, so (a reminder) we should Never Assume. And yes, mike, let’s devise a chant for the sequoias 🎶 thanks, all.
Aah, I have always been so enchanted by Anandamayi Ma, repeatedly playing the video of her with Guruji and keeping the photo of them handy. They both look so at ease with one another. Padmini absolutely has that million dollar smile, which PY teaches us, "Be a smile millionaire." I immediately felt resistance as soon as you all began speculating about possible outcomes if he had chosen not to return to America. Instead of smiling, I was crying right along with Chris' roosters, "Noooo." Finding Guruji was a soul cry answered for sure! It sure stirred my imagine, the conglomeration of saints, being in bliss together. St. Teresa of Avila was also known for passing out in ecstatic states. Transmission of energies, diksha, is such a wonderful exchange of the high vibrations to those receptive. Sister Parvati was with Master when he was alive. I was fortunate to be informed of her special appearance weekend at Lakeshrine retreat for retreatants. I immediately reserved to be there. Being that I do stand up comedy, I prayed she'd tell stories of Guruji's humor. In the little chapel, she kept interrupting her talk with anecdotes of his mischief and contagious laugh. At some point, she said, "I don't know why I'm telling these stories of his humor." I was in the back row, delightedly thinking, "Thank you, Guruji." I felt Sister transmitted something special in her guided E.E.'s, and transported me to a beautiful realm. So, if Chris won't sing, perhaps he'll use his Irish gift of gab and recite the Samadhi poem for your adoring fan!
I loved Padmini’s comment of them dancing together. At a recent funeral of a saintly lady from church Ian image popped into my head of her and our former much beloved also saintly pastor dancing together the way kids do, with their arms making a figure 8 (eternity symbol).
@@mariarosenberger3571 Maria, what a beautiful image, with the symbolism of joyful, celebratory dancing in infinity. This puts a smile in my heart. We are eternal spirit. Thank you for sharing that.
Yes having that hypothetical debate about Guruji not coming to America was not an easy one to have. Sister Parvati sounds like a wonderful character, I will have to keep a look out for some of her recordings, any published ones / CDs that you would recommend? Chris had a nice line in the Samadhi poem when we recited it together with the London Centre: fb.watch/ePF1iznfwj/

Hi, i am very happy to have found your Podcast and find it very helpful to get in contact with fellow devotees 🙏 Re the conversation: when anandamayi ma says that she has not met fahter in this lifetime, but in a previous, i actually did not interpret her refering to a previous incarnation of guruji. I understood it more in the sense that she did not meet a selfrealized person/ person that realized the father in this life. Just my input :) thanks again for your work 🙏🕉
Jakob, welcome to the podcast! what a wonderful interpretation, one that we had not considered and we will be definitely using as a reference for discussion in a later series (watch this space). You may very well be correct, equally it could also means past life connections as well 😀 Jai Guru, Priyank
Yes, Miralini Mata at Convocation at the Bonaventure Hotel. She was so childlike and giggly. It put all of us at such ease. Love to hear you four mention subjects that melt your heart and at the same time, melts my heart. The results of our Great Master's presence. I bow to you all. Jai, guruji.
Mike and Chris say they wish the gurus would list their past lives like a resume. Decades ago I studied with a guru who did exactly that. One of many entries read "1725-1804 Master of Monastery, Tibet". Another read "1834-1905 Jnana Yoga Master, India". I can only confirm at this time that he was a master of marketing. Many devotees went to him because of that past life resume!
I read an online bio about Anandamayi Ma that said she had no gurus, which is very rare for any God-realized being, woman or man, but interestingly her mother was also joy-permeated, and the way she is described makes me think that she may have been her daughter's guru: "Anandamayi's mother, Moksada Sundari Devi, was also known for her states of bhava or religious emotion. She was visited by avatars and deities who shown with light as she performed her household duties. While pregnant with Nirmala (Anandamayi's given name), she would see visions of sages and statues of deities which would appear, and then suddenly disappear. She later took vows and became a female renunciant." I felt ecstatic when Priyank was talking about the Tamal Tree, and how it's intertwining branches symbolize the divine love of Radha ❤️ Krishna. "In the dark, she used to find a glimpse of Krishna in the tree." Thrilling! Very interesting segue discussion about the Giant Sequoia trees, which grow only on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. They are the most massive trees on earth, and truly a wonder to behold. Maybe worthy of a cosmic chant, as you suggested? It only takes 4 hours to drive from L.A. to Sequoia National Park!
That is beautiful, I did not know much about her birth mother, thank you for sharing. So many of Krishna's timeless past-times are savoured by devotees in India (and further afield), more so than any other avatar I would say! Sequoia's are stunning, also grown in the UK in some of the wealthier estates! Jai Guru, Priyank
Hi I came across your Instagram page and then got directed from there to this TH-cam channel and have been watching these videos as I am also re- reading autobiography of a yogi and I was surprised to find a live video of Paramahamsa Yogananda available online. So I have 2 questions 1) where can I watch the awake movie? As before this I wasn't aware there was any video of His available. 2) Is the SRF part of the Kriya yoga foundation? I got initiated into kriya yoga at Hongkong by Paramahamsa Prajnananda who i was told is from the lineage of Paramahamsa Yogananda. I know that they're headquartered at the Ashram in Puri.

There is a Sangam happening right now called Convocation 2022, during which you can watch it for free convocation.yogananda.org/ otherwise you have to pay to watch it here yogananda.org/awake-the-life-of-yogananda#Buy Regarding your second question, that is a controversial one! Yogananda in SRF and YSS (Indian section) is the last in the line if Gurus from Babaji /Christ / Krishna. The lineage you are referring to came out of another lineage from Sri Yukteswar which also became fragmented... complex, but Yogananda was considered Sri Yukteswar's most important, hence he bestowed on him the the title Paramahansa. Jai Guru
