@@kerrygligorovic9758 Still sucks that Mariner and Jennifer have to suffer long term consequences from Freeman's mistakes, but Freeman never faced any nor did anything to make up for it.
"I should keep it in my quarters, in case I need to study handwriting in the future." I don't think she'll get promoted to main cast but Gabriella Ruiz is nailing her part.
Their break up ruins two episodes. Having Freeman manipulate them into breaking up negates the ending of season 2 where Mariner decided to risk lowering her defenses and opens up to Jennifer. And now that we know Jennifer only existed so someone could fall for the captain's scheme and hurt Mariner, their plot in the DS9 episode is just blatant manipulation by the writers.
@@TheKrstff They made it clear that they're both toxic for each other as Jennifer only liked Mariner because she's a "bad girl". Mike McMahan was even surprised that people actually liked them together.
To be perfectly honest, I don't know if what Mariner and Jennifer had was really so much of a "tough" conversation. Awkward, to be sure, but if they wanted "tough", the episode could have delved deeper into how Mariner's separation anxiety is root cause of pretty much all her problems, and how it's even hurt her ability to form stable relationships, because in her mind, developing a genuine emotional connection with someone means living every waking moment in mortal terror that that person is inevitably going to get ripped away from her. So avoiding relationships is just all-around easier for her to deal with (basically, the ACTUAL reason Mariner didn't try to patch things up with Jenifer when she got back to the Cerritos). But the episode just looked the other way, and I really don't know why. I mean, yeah, the main goal here was to make fun of how a lot of characters in Starfleet relationships almost never see each other, due to individual duty assignments (Lower Decks never being too proud to swing for the low-hanging fruit). But they had a real opportunity here, and honestly...they kind of welched on it. And again, I'm asking, why? You've only got seven episodes left. What are you gatekeeping at this point? Does it really make sense for you to still be holding your cards to your chest now? At least, that's just MY thinking on it.
Wish you would change your exit scene so I could share watching your clips with my daughter. Till then your channel will only be allowed after her bedtime & if I'm up to binging TH-cam.
Making it not kid friendly is the point. Because the algorithm flags most if not all animation as kids content by default. Which disables the comment section
@@RyugaruSenbi I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's not been my experience. YT has three grades - for kids, all-ages, and adults-only. Videos are flagged "for kids" if their primary audience could be expected to be children. There is plenty of animated pg-rated content which is NOT flagged as children-only because, despite being appropriate for children, is also enjoyed by lots of adults. ... Just to double check, in case I had missed something, I just went on a mini-animation binge, and confirmed that there are a lot of old cartoon clips on TH-cam, some many years old and other being put out by current TH-camrs, which still have comments enabled. I would encourage you to make a test. Post a video without the r-rated outro and watch its metrics for a few months.
@@FrankBlissett way to completely miss the point. TH-cam algorithm very frequently flags even clips from very much not intended for children animated shows as "for kids". The brutal outro is a precautionary measure to reduce the risk. Some channels specifically label their brutal outro scene of choice with an explanation that preventing being labeled kids content is why it's there. I don't post videos at all. But I know and understand the reasoning behind these jarring outro scenes. And how ironic your original comment was for complaining about the addition of this scene doing precisely what it's supposed to. Believe it or not, not every video on this website is intended to be watched by your daughter. She's not the target audience. The whole point of adding that scene is to make exactly that clear enough for a machine to figure it out.
@@RyugaruSenbi Sorry - I mis-understood context clues as implying that you were another channel of the creator. ... But, my point was not that OP was morally wrong for doing so, but that by doing so there was no gain but some loss to the number of people wishing to enjoy the videos. I do watch lower decks with my family. we also sometimes watch clips if they come up while browsing TH-cam. LD is *not* adult-only content, it is family friendly, and this clip in particular definitely is. ... Again - it's just my advice that it seems counter-productive to use that method.
Poor Jennifer. First she's mislead and manipulated by the captain she trusts into hurting someone she cares about, then Mariner forgives everyone but her and continues to hold a grudge for a year. She deserved better. The fact Mariner forgave her mom before even knowing if she regretted anything, yet Mariner refused to extend the same to someone used by Freeman, really makes Mariner look like an ass.

Mariner and Jennifer aren't couples anymore but at least they can still remain as friends.

Second Canadian name I have seen in Star Trek, like the parliament class Vancouver from season 1.

Love you T'lyn
I like how much more independent Boimler has become, Mariner is a better mentor than I thought
I’m happy Beckett and Jennifer are at least still friends.
++💯
Personally, I'd look into enlarging the ship up to this universe's scale and offer that option to the crew.
I like that they gave some closer between Jennifer and Mariner, still lame that we had to had to wait so long only for them to go the friends route
Jennifer was in the wrong in this episode. She just wanted to feel better about herself after being in the wrong so much.
Yeah which is probably why they left on "good" terms. Best to let them exit your life and fade into the background or dissappear completely
I wish Mariner & Jennifer could have stayed together, I found them to be so cute
