Diabetes in the 1950's did not lead to Alzheimer's, so it is something else. The food pyramid and statins were both introduced in the 1980. The high carbohydrate base of the food pyramid leads to obesity and T2 diabetes. The low fat top of the food pyramid leads to cholesterol shortage which leads to the brain shrinkage of Alzheimer's. This is why both diseases are rising at the same rate. We need to go back to the Four Food Groups with fat on the meat, eggs, bacon, whole milk and butter. Cell membranes are made of of cholesterol. Statins prevent cells from making cholesterol, so ALL your cells are dying when you are on a statin.

Very true. I’ve read that too. I was on a powerful statin that yes brought my cholesterol down but I would get stabbing pains in my thighs. Not good!! Never again!!

    Very interesting presentation.
The dramatic rise in Alzheimer's deaths in the end of the 1990s is parallel with the large scale introduction of statin medicines to control cholesterol levels. But the cholesterlol is vital to the function of the brain so it would be very interesting to have Dr de la Montes view wether the epidemic rise of Alzheimers can be medicine induced.

AND the deadly introduction of the high-carb low-fat food pyramid. High carbs leads to diabetes, and low fat leads to Alzheimer's.

It’s called pesticides & chemicals in your food. Oh yeah for some trivia artificial sweeteners are not food they are the same things as pills & food dyes.

How about the introduction of pesticides in to widely available foods at that time?

Misinformation. An Alzheimer’s brain cannot metabolism glucose. It nitrate is an issue why isn’t she warning us to stop eating celery because it contains more nitrate than bacon 😂

Yes: when she said, "nitraits", I did a face palm. The problem is the low-fat craze.
