I actually feel so bad for Taranza. He's both an unexpectedly interesting character and a depressing one. Unlike most god-queens, Sectonia was actually alright and Taranza apparently had a crush on her. But then that douchebag of a darkside, Dark Metaknight corrupted her and played off her hubris; pride. And as she was rotting away from the inside, he tried his best to bring back the queen she revered, but she was too far gone to care anymore. So the only thing left to do was to euthanize her. Poor boi needs some love.

Sectonia's true form wasn't ever really shown in triple deluxe. It was implied that she wasn't a bee orignally, though it was only later games that began to show what she really was like.
The first glimpse of her true form was in Meta Knightmare returns
