- HAL Laboratory, the developer of the Kirby series, has the habit to include secret areas in their games that spell out their name. In this episode of 'Evolution of Gaming', we're going to find every secret HAL Room in the Kirby series.

i love how there's a little broom guy just cleaning the Hal room, since they are a secret i bet they get dust because people don't go there alot.

I realized I had to wait in the Robobot one, but simply because of the Triple Deluxe one. Also, the hardest to find is the Kirby's Adventure's IMO.
The one for Kirby's Adventure is actually a glitch, believe it or not

Tldr; It went from "Good luck finding it" to "Good luck getting to it if you even find it."
The fact that HAL put in these secret rooms for players to find with collectibles and copy abilities in them is awesome. It's a perfect example of why Kirby is consistently a great game series, they put so much work and care into their games and it shows

I actually did on my last triple deluxe playthrough since it looked suspiciously like a Hal room entrance

It's a shame that not a single HAL room came with a UFO ability.
One came with the Smash ability though, which only appeared for regular use in Amazing Mirror before.

Sunny Sewell Yeah, I discovered that later. The smash power is also hidden in the 5-2 Casino, at the entrance there's an open window and you can pass into it, and in another level of the world 6, but I don't remembre where.

Expect in Robobot, Haltmann is so selfish that he put one of his own enemies in there. And in Triple Deluxe. He’d get squished.

This video reminded me how much art appliances are used in Kirby games.
I'll tell you more. There's an unused HAL Room in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.

It's cause you actually need a glitch to access Adventure's HAL Room in the first place. The one in Nightmare in Dreamland was kept in the code of the game, but since many glitches were fixed, including "that one", it's inaccessible by normal means.
It's not completely the same. Broom Hatter is absent.
It's not a glitch. You have to intentionally overload the NES' capability to display sprites. That warpstar is coded that when it loads the screen stops scrolling. HAL obviously knew what they where doing. Kirby's Adventure is HAL's mastery of NES knowledge and how to access the HAL room is part of that. It's there in NiDL because it was there in the original and because you cannot easily overload the GBA's sprite/object display, so you cannot access it.

I love how consistent the method of finding them has become. Backtracking, Hidden Passage, Wait 86 Seconds. It's like the HAL Rooms are this private joke between HAL Labs. and the Kirby Fandom!

@@AacroX yeah, it's a cryptic one. Requires knowing some japanese. Basically, the kanjis that spell HAL in Japanese (ha ru, I think) are the same as the first kanji for the numbers 8 and 6... roughly, it's a bit tough to understand.

I wasn't crazy! I saw once the hal room (not knowing what was that room) as a kid on Kirby's Adventure but none of my friends believed me, so I ended up convincing myself that it didn't exist ):

Very clever HAL message hidden in Robobot's final boss. When it is shooting letters at you, they actually are, in order, H, A, and L. Nicely done, Nintendo!

the funny thing is, I found the HAL room in Royal Road in Kirby Triple Deluxe. but here's how i found it. i went up that passage thinking that a rare keychain might be their. but then i saw the moon and i thought "wonder if they did something like in Kirby's Dreamland and you can enter the moon to go to a secret room?" and i wasn't disappointed. yet, i somehow didn't even know the HAL room in Super Star Ultra even existed. im like good at finding secrets, but terrible at it at the same time! XD
