Adding kalonji / kala jeera / onion seeds gives it an earthy flavour and adds a whole new dimension to the saalan... Also it has added health benefits...
Just finishing cooking this.. I preempted and added yogurt and palm sugar (.. no jaggery av), with the chopped mint/coriander , fried large mild green chillies waiting their immersion turn (the real idols)... many times cooked this... Perfect!
We just tried this recipe exactly as described above and let me tell you that IT IS simply INCREDIBLE. What you'd normally get in restaurants doesn't even come close.
i did twice. both the Times it came out very well. gave this to two sets of my friends and all of them appreciated along with the biriyani. Thanks a lot Vahchef... you made this so simple and so easy.
I like most of his recepiece because I am from the andhrapradesh.I do like the way of adopting small tips in his cooking vedioes.He is best in representing Indian style with back ground *curtains* as well.

I just want to say that sometimes I get confused with the quantity of the ingredients. So can u please mention the quantities also. Measurements Depends on what else you’re serving 6 liter of gravy should be enough as an accompanying Salan for Biryani
