Obviously not meant for rough off roading, but it’s a good vehicle for someone that drives on the beach or needing to get to a cabin. I like the concept of
They may not be 4runner, but they are capable to go in mud and certain offroading conditions. They know people will take them places, and these are sold in many countries.
I'm impressed. 4 cylinder & no turbo.. 8 spd trans.. no cvt. Honda CRV.. you don't compete. Now, if there's only a trans dipstick & drain on the pan... 🤔🤞
Not a real off roader but it's good for some dirt roads and snow. It will get you to a campsite and that's all I really need. I still think I would go with the RAV4 hybrid with e-AWD and 40 mpg.
That TRD Rav4 is a pathetic Joke for an off-road vehicle. Our 21 Rav4 LE has the SAME engine and Lame approach angle. Our LE gets 40-46 mpg on the highway. It has been to Baja California 10 times. Drove it in the dilapidated asphalt and dirt roads of Mexico. We still haven't had any problems.
I own a 2024 TRD Off Road, in black, and am happy with my purchase. I bought it for the different looks, plus I live in the NC mountains where it snows a lot. My only complaint is the stock Falken Tires, that are a special 01A version and are completely useless for off road use (only about 1/4" tread). I replaced them with Standard Falken Tires, that are Severe Snow Rated, have a lot more tread but are the same noise level. I have no idea what Toyota was thinking putting these 01A crappy tires on an off road vehicle. Unfortunately, all the off road reviews you see for this vehicle, use these useless stock tires, which don't perform very well in mud or snow, so the reviews are a bit unfair.
At 8.6 in of ground clearance, decent all terrain tires, skid plate, dynamic torque vectoring AWD system, it should be good to get you to the trail head, to a cabin, to a lake/river, as long as you're on a dirt forest service road or mountain road. I like this way more than the Woodland (less ground clearance, cloth only seats, no heated steering wheel in the USA, etc.)--just wish they would've put a hybrid in this one. The base gas engine has been made forever, so although not exactly refined and a bit coarse under acceleration, it will last forever, and it at least it does not have a CVT. For what I'd use it for, I'd be good with it.

They should do a TRD Sport on the RAV4; makes more sense than for the 4Runner
basically it can tackle camping trails that any front wheel sedan can do.

Go with RAV4 Hybrid Woodland edition if you are looking for a hybrid option. That can handle some off-roading and it's not too expensive.

Disappointed from you, i thought you were pro Nissan😂😂😂
Grandpa car, but comfortable!
If it only had a v6
Luckily its dynamic torque vectoring system allows its engine to punch well above its weight.
