That is because Filipinos are emotional people. Song like "Di lang Ikaw" is widely appreciated and listened to because its relatable. A good painful lyrics, sad melody and a soothing airy tone are the perfect recipe to get Pinoy hooked. :)
Song writing here in the Philippines is a big thing and is truly amazing. Poetic, realistic, relatable.
Just wanna share this experience to you guys. Juris visited my hometown which is the capital of the province. That time, this song was very very popular (even up to this days, everyone knows this song). She sang this in an open park. The moment she sang, we were like "are we in a studio?" Man, I can tell you, her voice is so different in person. It was so good, so beautiful, and that night, it was magical. People were like "are we broken?" because when she sang, boom! you can feel every single word from it.
P.S if you're broken-hearted, and you wanna cry it all out, this is the GO-TO song.

I know this was uploaded years ago but I just gotta say that I love Juris sooo much! I alwayd dreamed of having a voice like her LOL! The ways she sings is just soo soothing and easy to the ears that most people think it's easy to sing her versions 'til they try it😂 They are almost whispers, in high notes, but with soo much emotion, clarity and taste... My taste in music had evolved but Juris will remain to be the best vocalist for me. She sings the cleanest!

Weleska pls make a cover of this..this is one of those songs that'll make you stop even in the middle of a loud and crazy crowd, makes you silent and listen to it intently and suddenly you'll feel how raw the struggle and the pain is when you thought you already forgotten all about it. This song's for keeps.
Juris is not a belter but she's got one of the purest, crystalline and best controlled voices that pierces the heart. You need to listen more of her and you'll have a roller coaster ride of deep emotions with her story telling.

Juris left the band and became a solo artist and someone replaced her on MYMP but her time as the vocalist in MYMP was the only MYMP for most Filipinos.
