Ipagpatawad mo is one of the iconic song of the precursor of OPM, called Manila Sound during the 70s.
its a song by a bee gees and earth, wind and fire-inspired band, VST and company. the lead singer moved on to become part of the most successful comedic act, a trio called tito, vic and joey who also created one of the longest running noontime shows of the philippines, still going on today for already almost 50 years.
needless to say all entities mentioned are filipino icons
oh by the way... tito, vic and joey are aiza seguera’s mentors

This song was originally sung by VST & Co which was a singing group popular in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. That group had many hits, this song was one of them. This song was revived by other artists, because this song is so timeless.

You got it right with the vowel a,e,i,o,u.
The original singer of "Ipagpatswad" is VST & company which is from the same era as of Earth Wind & Fire the 70s.
What a coincidence that you reacted to a song originaly from VST & Company whose two members founded the noontime show "Eat Bulaga" where Martin,Pops and Sharon performed (that you reacted to) also the same noontime show that discovered and made famous Aiza "ice" Seguera which you also reacted to.👏👏👏

They only had a couple disco funk albums, but there were so great that the the lead members eventually became the biggest celebs in Filipino television in the next decades. I agree with you Efra! I believe Feelings have to be confronted, whether good or bad. This is the only way one can move on or move to the next direction. I found that when I confronted my feelings, I felt so much lighter and better, it is better than being in denial (to our own selves) about how we actually feel.

Great reaction, Waleska and Efra! Props to Efra for his effort to learn to speak Filipino/Tagalog and to whoever shared the info on the phonetics of the language to him. That info was on point!
Anyway, just to echo a previous comment here, this song was originally written, recorded and released way back in the late 70s by VST & Co., a Filipino disco funk band. They produced and released some of the most famous hits - in Tagalog, English and Taglish (combined Tagalog & English) - that defined that era in Filipino pop/disco music. They also had a few ballads but "Ipagpatawad Mo" had become such a timeless hit that even today, it is sung quite a lot. How very astute that you recognize shades of Earth, Wind & Fire in this video because VST & Co. did incorporate the style of EWF as well as the BeeGees with their own unique funky sound back in the day.

Wow, thanks for this! It’s been awhile since i last heard this song until now - because of you guys! 😍
Listening to this now made me realise how beautiful OPM (Original Pilipino Music) music really was. The lyricism, and the melodic line was just beautiful and not typical (unlike the music these days).
    So, thanks guys! 🙏🏼😍

This song was written by Vic Sotto when he was in his late 20s because he fell in love with his first wife, Dina Bonnevie, who wasn't even 18 by that time. He also has written songs like "Bakit ba ganyan?", and such because he is so inlove with her.

It was in mid 2000 when I 1st discovered Nyoy Volante & Mannos (Gelenn Dalit on Kahon, Cocoy Aranas on Base, Jerome Nuñez on Violin, and Maynard Albis on drums who joined later) at a bar in Pasig. I became a regular and eventually became friends with their manager, Hanzel Villafuerte, who happened to be from the same university I graduated from. They became so famous and eventually signed into a label and released albums. They were even more famous than MYMP, U-Turn, and other acoustic bands who later on became famous as well. Nyoy is definitely a power vocalist. Try to find his live version of Kahit Kailan w/ Jerome on violin. That’ll make your jaw drop to the floor!
Call it groupie but we all did became good friends. It’s just sad that the group disbanded a few years later. I think NV & Mannos will always be my favourite acoustic band. I miss these guys...

Oh! Oh! His (w/Mannos) renditions of Stevie Wonder classics, Michael Jackson hits, Sting’s English Man in New York, Smooth by Matchbox 20, Ants Marching by Dave Matthew’s Band were mind blowing! Oh my I would love to see them play these songs again 😭😭😭

Yes, he's on the same era with Aiza Seguerra, Nina, Jimmy Bondoc, and Paolo Santos. They had a road show before...super cool to see them together on stage singing and teasing each other.
