jacking back casing to expose well screen to the water bearing formation, screens are already installed in well at this point.
hydraulic cylinders are capable of 500,000 pounds of pull back, on this job pressure relief is set at1500 psi, limiting the amount of pull back to 340,000 pounds with the 2 cylinders.

Its a Bucyrus Erie 60L,
I started drilling in 1978 ,. Ran rotaries back then. Started out on my own in 1980 with 22w Bucyrus Erie. Been drilling non-stop sense then. Now I Drill mostly 16" diameter wells with 60L's for irrigation in sands and gravel formations. Cable tool seems like the right fit for drilling and developing these wells for me.
Retirement sounds good, hard to quit when every one needs water!

What make and model is your cable tool..I learned drilling on a 71 Star and bought a second in the 70's.
Ran rotaries after..had two Portadrills 10TGs and switched to Gefco 30ks..retired 7 years ago..company is still drilling in Northern CA with the crew I trained. Company is now 101 years old..loved the work..LOL
