This is a new irrigation well we are drilling for local farmer. Been doing this for 46 years, always exciting to get a new one started .

belts that buckeye been selling as of late are not good at all, need to staple the seams or they won't make it through one well. The old original belts would last for many years. Hope they get things sorted out to where we can buy good belts again.

Glad we made it look easy for you 😅
Easy money!!
I've found some at about 70ft under sand before. I figured it must have been trees that were covered when the river changed course or something. You find some crazy stuff drilling with a cable tool rig.
Looks like a 36
Welcome. I am Morocco. How many meters do you drill in a day? I am a driller worker in Morocco looking for work in well drilling machines

So drill 16 then install 12inch screens with gravel pack and start jacking 16 out?
@@jasonbillings7997 that,s correct.
Is it that hard you have to start with that heavy tool?
Weight goes up with size, we start out with 20-inch bit.
@@CableToolWellDrilling How deep could you get with an auger?
Good ol' Bucyrus-Erie. I used to work on a 160 ton steam railroad crane that they built.
Looks alot like my set up.....I love drilling big holes with cable tool but I hate starting the damn holes out. On 24"-36" I have just been digging the first piece in with backhoe.
What Model of rig was you using to drill 36-inch wells?
My only question is, why not run a 7 in dart bailer? Seems like those dump bailers are a mess. And i thought i noticed the rig in the medium stroke. I ran like that for year's. When i changed stroke to the long stroke i found it made drilling mud more efficiently and i had less sticking in the hole. I do really like to see a cable tool driller doing big boy shit with the old spudders. Good job and keep up the hard work. 💪 from Kansas
7 inch dart valve would be great when drilling 8 or 10 inch well and what we would use for that size well. We are drilling 16 inch. Dart valves are typically longer bailers, running a 12 inch dart valve would be heavy to deal with. A 12 inch mud dump door opens up more to allow big chunks of clay in. Removes mostly just mud from the bottom of the hole because ours are short. We are so use to mud dump bailers when drilling big holes . Handling them is a non issue. And we always dig a mud pit to dump into. In this case the ground has alot of slope. We would like to use the longer stroke. the hole the pin goes into been trashed by owners before us from not keeping it tight. But at same time, clay can get so sticky that the shorter stroke helps with pulling power when sticks at bottom of hole. We need a bigger rig ! But support for parts for bigger rigs are the thing of the past for cable tool rigs it seems. Hope that answers your questions .

Beautiful!..
Looks like the belt I had made from an Amish guy up in Ohio for my bucyrus Erie 20w. It didn't come apart but it did stretch and slipped really bad.
@@wvwaterwelldriller This belt kept stretching also had to keep tightening it to keep up with the stretching. We kept a new one in stock so not much down time.New one is another of the same. 😣 We found more sand and gravel to make a well in . So we are at the depth we need to be. Will start another 16 inch well while we wait for well screens for this one.
@@CableToolWellDrilling seems like it getting harder to get good parts for these old cable tool rigs. I've been waiting over a year for a couple new sheave wheels for my 20w
@@wvwaterwelldriller I have wore sheaves out to where you can see daylight through the Grove , just welded it up and filled it up with weld. Cable will wear it to fit perfectly. Never even tried to buy one. Done this a few times on different rigs over the years.
@@CableToolWellDrilling I've had to weld them up before as well. I robbed one of our older rigs to replace one that had about a 5" spot worn all the way through. These old rigs take a beating.
Good shit here man I love seeing that
Bucyrus Erie the king..I have a20 w
Gadanmm that’s a beautiful joint for real and still going..danm63?
I learned well drilling starting in 1972 on a 71 Star from a gentleman who began in.1922. Bought a second one and hired a friend to run it. Acquired a portadrill 10 TG in 1977 and bought a second one. Learned from my employee... Ended up with top head drive rotaries and sold out in 2017 to the grandson of an old timer driller who became like a father to me. The grandson just bought a year old top head drive and my guys are running it...loved the work..great satisfaction finding water when others couldn't...LOL 102 years of history...

What a Beautiful Unit 💪❤
Vern gosdin was the real deal. So missed.
Not a straight torch that you normally use on a track burner.
Hand torch? Looks like it was on a guggo. Lol
Love the music... Disco Inferno, The Trammps
Phewwww Big Big money stainless screens .... Cant mess those up 💆
Sweet 💪
There's still time son.
Well screens was installed, they slide inside casing, then you Jack back the pipe to expose the screens. There is video when we installed screens, under "well sreens"
Good good welds and one step back for this job 💪
Hiding the tracts, usually indicative of criminal intent.😮
Lol...nice😂
Wider, and has teeth on it under one pipe
You have a blade on that excavator why not just use that
Quit reading my mind!
So many Hours playing Fallout NV
All right I'm going to beat my meat and then play Fallout New Vegas
Why were you pulling the pipe back out?
Thanks, seems to work good. So I Thought I'd share .
That is a good idea❤❤😊😊
Its a Bucyrus Erie 60L, I started drilling in 1978 ,. Ran rotaries back then. Started out on my own in 1980 with 22w Bucyrus Erie. Been drilling non-stop sense then. Now I Drill mostly 16" diameter wells with 60L's for irrigation in sands and gravel formations. Cable tool seems like the right fit for drilling and developing these wells for me. Retirement sounds good, hard to quit when every one needs water!
You hiring?
We are looking, are you a driller?
What make and model is your cable tool..I learned drilling on a 71 Star and bought a second in the 70's. Ran rotaries after..had two Portadrills 10TGs and switched to Gefco 30ks..retired 7 years ago..company is still drilling in Northern CA with the crew I trained. Company is now 101 years old..loved the work..LOL
I would be in heaven ❤❤❤
The tree is on fire!!!
Greetings, a guy has to have a little luck once in a while. 😊
Pozdrawiam z Polski . Piekny chwytak i ważne ze łowienie sie udało
But we found it 230 ft down in a well we drilled
That’s an easy one petrified antler tool used in leather smithing every one knows that! 😂
Cool.
