Thank you for another delightful video. I loved the beach huts, the renovated train station, and the outdoor market where people could watch football. Lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it
Those houses you showed on the sandgate rd at the beginning of the video, the expensive looking ones, the wooden panelled one is fairly new as a conversion, it was done in the nineties. The very traditional one next to it was home to a lady who died at over a hundred in 2009, she had lived there since her marriage at 19 years old.
I lived in Folkestone for 35 years, my parents are still there. The rotunda fun fair was the place to go when I was a teenager followed by chummys fish wagon next to the George in the harbour.
Glad you enjoyed your unique trip to Folkestone. Could see my old house from your harbour shot on top of the cliff . Live in Burnley and have been to Ripon a few times, definitely coming for the workhouse museum. Thank you for your content
Thanks for sharing. It was my first time in Folkestone, a uniquely interesting place.
By the way, our video on Sunday at 11am, is at Burnley. Was nearby for a family party.
@@beantravelling oh brilliant, can’t wait ! Thanks for the heads up. Good places to visit round burnley, helmshore textile mill, queens street mill, Pendle heritage centre, gawthoroe and townley halls and of course Haworth near keighley where the Bronte museum is. So much amazing history. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos, I know it takes a long time to edit and put stuff up. Rest assured it is appreciated by those of us who want family friendly content
It's not about Burnley, but somewhere you might have driven by, holiday inn express
@@beantravelling oh yes, my dad stays there often!,
we went for years too the burstins hotel had some nice walks and trips only complaint ed 2times covid stopped our trips but it was a nice time hotel was cheap food not to bad staff with us very friendly . the new flats are the eye saw.
Thanks for telling us of your experience of the hotel and Folkestone
I think the wild bird was a cormorant? I live in Folkestone and am not aware of any link with Eric Morecambe, or indeed a statue.
There is no statue in the harbour!
I live here. The amount of things you said was so factually incorrect. But thanks for giving us a good laugh 😂😂😂
Let us know what I have wrong. It's always good to learn
i was there in 1988, wonder if its changed much? i cycled from hastings and took the train back! shame i didnt have a video camera then!
I bet it's changed a lot. First visit for us.
That was a cormorant bird 24:07
Great video again . I thought of a slight channel name change for you . Unique Beans.
Think it would help you out in the search and hopefully get you the views you deserve.
Keep it up .
Nice idea, been playing with a few but undecided yet. Might do a video to ask opinions
I try to release the videos Sunday 11am UK time. Bar the odd exception, 1 a week is the plan
so whats happned to the train station? has it be moved?
I don't know if there is another in the centre of town. But the tracks to the harbour have certainly stopped being used. Still there just filled in on the roads leading to the platform we saw
@@beantravelling the only other stations in Folkestone are the Central station, which is nr Radnor park and the East station which is between Folkestone and Cheriton. The harbour station stopped operating probably at least 20years ago, very nice job theyve done with it since.
The Orient Express was a regular visitor to Folkestone Harbour station taking posh passengers from London to the ferry terminal. Unfortunately it closed about 15 years ago, and the ferries are long gone. Nice what they've done to it and there are ambitious plans for redevelopment along that whole stretch of seafront. There used to be three other stations in the town, East, West and Central. East closed in 1965. The other two are still operating.
i love folkstone the pubs are great
Unfortunately I have never had chance to see, thanks for commenting
Queen Victoria would not use Her bathing Machine if She were alive today - thanks to Southern Water.
Very funny
