That was a real nice day! The beaches were lovely. I really liked the view while sitting on the bench. I always worry about bats being in those structures you two go into! Lunch looked very good and the ice cream especially good!
I've walked the cliffs path rather drumk I might add. Didnt notice how far it was. I was c oming back from a pub crawl with friends, going home to Folkestone from Dover. I used to watch all the people down below in the fair from my balcony . I lived in the Victorian hotel right across the fair. It's the curved building across from the fair/beach now. I just saw the cave me and my friends took our Christmas dinner and gifts into. It was that little cave with the white bits on the floor..We set it all out nicely, and built a small fire there. The fired spot is still there on the floor even thoughit was many years since we did it. We enjoyed our Christmas looking over to Belgium, wondering if anyonesaw our fire. Oh,,...you missed the shops on the Upper Promenade.
I'm watching this. Currently living in a Greek island. Watching you eating Greek food and contemplating whether I'm bonkers. Considering moving back to the UK in Kent. What confuses me is why aren't the coastal towns buzzing more? And way more money invested? It's winter here mild weather and the seafront harbour is packed with so many restaurants etc full of customers. They invested millions here and increased jobs and its always used by locals as well as tourists. The renovated train station you showed would be great as a market in place of those they close. Abroad seaside has the most jobs. In UK the least?
Haha it's not for us to judge if you are bonkers or not BUT the UK isn't all bad. The seaside towns have taken a real hit over the last few years but investment is slowly creeping back in, to some more than others. Hopefully they are on the way back up!
Awesome video, please next time try the whelks at the seafood stall, my favorite sea food😜 Definitely my 1st stop to Folkestone for the whelks. 😁 Love Folkestone❤️
Such a good vlog of my home town well done guys 🙌 I still love the history of Folkestone, also Folkestone has been voted the best place to live in Kent 🥰X
Well you certainly had a beautiful day weatherwise and in your destination. I loved this vlog, love the narration all the way through. Your lunch from the Greek Street Food thingy looked absolutely lovely. Eating with such a lovely view on a lovely warm day, what else could you ask for? The Harbour looked really interesting as did the walk you went on. You didn't go on that train/tram type thing that takes you up the cliffs? Or was it a lot further along? Actually was it even working? I know it wasn't for a long time. Another really great vlog thanks guys.x
Love the videos from you guys! I’m trying to decide between Deal, Folkestone and Ramsgate to live, moving from just outside London. I think they all have plusses...but perhaps Deal is the best to live in, and just visit the other towns. Having viewed properties, I’m watching your videos to try and make up my mind decisively!!!
Hi Debbie, we are glad to hear our videos are helping. We like them all for very different reasons. Deal is definitely a lovely place and it does sit in the middle of the other 2 🤷🏻♂️
I'm fairly new to your channel. I love your adventures. Have you been, or plan to visit dymchurch, or Margate, or Hastings, or Portsmouth? Love these places and I'd love to get your unique take on these places. Keep up the good work.
Hi Danny! Margate & Hastings are both on our list to visit over the summer and Dymchurch is somewhere we have spoken about. We have been Portsmouth and we love it there so will definitely be back at some point. There is 1 video on the channel but it was only an evening some time ago. Great to hear that you are enjoying the videos 😊
I want to thank you guys for inspiring me to return to Folkestone last year. As I work full time and I am reliant on public transport, I can only go at weekends and this is the Folkestone I have come to love over the last year. I have explored and found virtually every single place on this vlog. And I am really impressed by the variety of food you can find around the Harbour Arm. I have also enjoyed exploring the old town and learnt quite a bit about the history of Folkestone, including the significance of the location of the memorial arch you showed. I really think Folkestone is a great place to visit.
hello. would you ever live in a lighthouse? you two ever find anything interesting in the beach? looks like you two had a great time and looks like an interesting place. Do you guys go or have been to any haunted or old historical place or buildings? I've been to two, the very first one I went to was on a big hill as big as a mountian that over looked the town and I think river it's called the pittock mansion, I use to live in a town with a story behind two bridges one on train tracks and there was other story's around the town of certain buildings
I've been to about five just never went in an some were said to be haunted. You think you two would get tired of walking up there every night to turn on light or would you make it so it would turn on mid floor? Also would you rather have it on beach or by where the boats dock
We visited Weymouth recently (it’s featured in our new video) and interestingly that gave us vibes of being in Spain. But yes a lot of British seaside towns have had a rough time recently.
Even though I have a bank card i would never shop in a place that don't except cash and i never use a self checkout. CASH IS KING !!! In support of people that don't qualifie to get a bank account.
No it's a dump empty shops rundown areas weeds growing everywhere grass never gets cut weeds in the flower beds never gets weeded litter all over the place especially the town centre and a run down harbour Folkestone is a very sad town and it will never change
Brilliant vlogs guys! Folkestone looks a fantastic place to visit in the summer with the gorgeous sandy beach 🏖❤️❤️xx
You got to be joking crime is up in this town worst than dover I've lived here all my life I'm afraid Folkestone is probably like hell

@@JJExtra decided I am bonkers and going to stay here for now.
Even though I'm missing the smell and taste of fish and chips shops.

What a fun beach side town to visit!
It was lovely! We can’t wait to head back to try more food 😂
Born in Folkestone spent my teens every summer at the rotunda x
I loved rotunda (can’t remember how to spell it lol) and one of the amusements had a ball park in it which I loved too 😆

Yes. Deal. Absolutely
Which do you prefer, Folkestone or Brighton? I love Brighton but never been to Folkestone.
Definitely Folkestone 😁
Question Jason and Josh do you both have them glasses that are prescription that react to the Sun ?
No we chose not to have those - but our glasses are the same design as our sunglasses
@@JJExtra thanks for that 😊
We visited yesterday nice place please make a video about the cave or may be small window middle of the cliff love to know about

Visited my partner Tim’s parents in dymchurch. Have popped to Folkestone a few times. Ps came here from Magic Geekdom
We plan to visit dymchurch soon - welcome 👋 hope you enjoy our channel 😊
If you stand on the leas and look over to mermaid beach you will see the rock formation looks like a fish tail x
We will look out for this next time we visit thanks for that 🙂
Only go to walk up 1 big hill and rotunder was just a dome lol
Is that sugarloaf hill?
The way things are going, it won't be for long
For someone who grew up on the Continent most english coastal town look very ran down and underinvested.
Why? I just think it's more convenient to use card
