For me, the first Friday will always be it. It’s memorable and an overall great time. I do appreciate Mike Epps taking over Chris Tucker’s part. I wished Bernie Mac was in this since he was one of my favorite side characters.
Next Friday is one of those sequels that never goes out of style with Ghetto Comedy, and a fresh start with the new millennium, my classmates would recite lines from Michael Blackson and its still funny AF. 😅
I think the first Friday is still a better overall movie. Story flows better along with the comedy, IMO. However Next Friday is still fun to watch, the additions of Mike Epps as Day Day, Clifton Powell as Pinky, and DC Curry as Uncle Elroy were well done and I like the new suburbs setting. Chris Tucker is missed and I think the story is weaker with slightly weaker direction (shouts out to F. Gary Gray from movie 1), but overall this is still a good time.
Joker was the funniest in this movie. It took me to be a little bit older to realize Joker's joke "No leroy im bilingual. There's a difference".🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit: the short one was "Joker". Lil joker was the tall one, baby joker was the chubby one.
When I tell you that Clifton Powell usually scares the crap out of me but I LOVED him in the Friday franchise! Pinky showing up to that shop will always be my fave part of that movie!
I'm thinking that Smokey might've given Craig what was left of Big Worms weed stash before he went to rehab for Craig to smoke. On another note, I always wondered what Craig was doing for money since he said that he still didn't have a job?? His folks didn't seem like the type that would give him money or an allowance without a job.

I’ve always enjoyed this film and my fave lines: Hot sauce on my burrito baby and Mr. Nasty Time! I also feel that Pinky carried the film as well. Clifton Powell is such an underrated actor. Anyway, if you gonna plan to sneak in someone’s house, you don’t knock on the door. That was a stupid move on Day-Day and Roach’s end even though he was the lookout. In a way, Deebo had to be in the film towards the end because if not, Craig probably would’ve got got. Come to think of it, he would’ve got got either way it goes. I guess the high with the dog wore off because he was alert enough to attack Deebo, lol. And Suga was a mess for trying to hit on Craig and I’m surprised Uncle Elroy didn’t check her for that. He definitely did in the next movie hint: FAN 🎅🏾 🍩 See what I did there? Can’t wait for next week’s video!

I wrote this off as a miss after it was announced that Chris Tucker wasn’t going to be in it but it’s a great sequel & it’s not better than the original. Next week’s review is Friday After Next. This was one of my favorite installations of the Friday series. Partly it was because of Craig's love interest Carla. I liked her and I wished they brought her back. But like you said, Mike Epps's portrayal of Day-Day was hilarious! And Uncle Elroy was one character I wish we could see again after Friday After Next.

I loved this movie so much as a kid when it came out . I was in kindergarten , I had no business watching this movie , especially as much as I did . But I don’t regret it one bit . I fucking love this movie so much lol
Nah not even close to being better than the first. The first movie felt like a window into the wacky antics of a real breathing neighborhood/community, the personalities, locations, and humor/interactions all felt very natural and authentic in the first. This one felt like a typical polished film production, not a bad movie and a classic in its own right, it just lacks the heart and authenticity of the first.
Although really good, this one is like a movie you can either watch or treat it like background noise but that original keeps you locked in because the story is so simple.
