On the part with Snoop being excited to play the love interest of Pam Grier apparently he was blushing the whole time during filming 😂😂😂
I would be too, shes PAM GRIER! I wouldve passed out 😂
@@forthenostalgiau feel me ? 😆
That soft lighting was working almost as hard as Snoop's silk press, but LAWD Pam was still fine!!!!
Shiiii I would’ve been too😮💨
I would imagine
I remember we were homeless in the early 2000's & living in a shelter. We were there 2 wks (longest 2 wks ever) & i suddenly got called to the office that they had found us an apt. I was so excited. I packed up my kids & we raced down to the rent office signed the lease & got my keys 🔑 i cried like a baby. That night we bought Bones on bootleg, got us some popcorn 🍿 ,hot dogs & candy. And we camped out on the floor of our new place😊didn't have a lick of furniture but we had a home🏡 .......and each other❤❤
I love this story ❤
That’s amazing
God bless you this just made my heart smile with so much joy
💜
beautiful
One thing about Black men in Horror...They gone look fly asl. Another thing, I just LOVED how Pam Grier & Snoop complimented each other & looked great as a couple in this film.
It's not a hood movie without Clifton Powell 😂
He’s a hood movie legend.
"U Kno It‼️".
Snoop did a interview on some show…I can’t remember. But he talked about when he first met Pam Grier who was playing his woman on this movie….he said he excused himself to the men’s room real calm….got there and slid down the wall….just in awe being in the presence of her. He said he grew up watching her movies, and remembered those TA-TAS spilling out of her bra…he held his head down and just shook his head…..it was dream come true……he said…me….and Ms. Pam Grier
Pam Grier is fine asf
Ta tas still doing the job too lol
No matter what Bianca Lawson is in, she will forever be Kendra Vampire Slayer from Buffy.
And will still look the same age too 😂
Yes
Which is sad because the character was written weak and she was killed in buffy in such a pathetic, easy way and replaced by a yt slayer who was made to look like a badass the entire series and on another series angel.
She was also part of the voice cast for the game, Star Wars: The Old Republic. 👍🏻
I felt bad for shotgun, bruh was loyal but put in a difficult place😂
He was! One of the most loyal characters in the movie
It's Anger & Vengeful Pride That Made Bones Do SG Like That❗️‼️.
Snoop said he agreed to do the jimmy bones role under the condition that he has to have a kissing scene with Pam Grier because he had a crush on her since his childhood
I wonder how his wife felt about that 😂?
@@91DefiniteI’m sure passes are accepted with legit crushes with other actors, it’s their job anyway
@@ninjanibba4259that’s true
Of course that girl wouldn’t be scared of the dog 5:05 that’s Ginger from Ginger Snap 😂😂😂
Ay yooo! I totally forgot!
Bianca Lawson is gorgeous! She’s like a vampire, she never ages 💜🧛🏾♀️
She’s eternal teenager.
@@therealmarlonbellamyI really believe she is…Cause no way she looked the same as she did in “Save the Last Dance”
@@91Definite Below are some more eternal teenagers:
Malinda Williams
Rachel True
Antwone Tanner
I remember when we first rented this from blockbuster. Me and all my cousins had the lights off chilling sharing snacks. Now we all grown and don’t even speak fr. This movie will always be tied to one of my fondest memories.
It's funny how life changes. What a nice memory though ❤
"The Mall in between realms" line made me snort laughing! 😂😂 they got to look sharp before they crossover
"Casket sharp" 🤣🤣🤣
@@forthenostalgia 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The scene when Pearl looks at a old picture of her and Jimmy in happier times as it was in the 70's as she is remembering the last time she saw Jimmy alive as she warned him about the meeting that will lead to his death as she wanted to see his hands as she is a psychic and Jimmy reassures and promises her that he will come back just fine as he kisses her is absolutely and positivity so relatable on so many levels as you truly and dearly missed the person you genuinely and sincerely loved and cared for as you wish they was still with you right now.🥺😔😭
This is one of Snoop's better acting performances.
I agree!
The Soul Glo song matched with the bullets flying past Jimmy Bones hair as he just stands there in confidence 😂😂
This is the season of ignored warnings. And not a mall between realms and coming out with a silk press 😂😂😂 This was too funny!
I remembered watching this movie a few times a long time ago. It really be your own ppl! Jeremiah basically sold out his community instead of fighting for it the way Bones did. This was truly the eff around and find out kinda movie! I’m glad you did this movie!
And I already figured out the hint: VIB..
You're right 😊
@@forthenostalgia As soon as I heard the last two hints, I just knew! Can’t wait until next week!!
From what I heard, Patrick, because of what happened at Bones’s house, went into witness protection, relocated to NYC, changed his name to Raheem, and started hanging out with a couple dudes….Q, Bishop, and Steel
Well then poor Patrick/Raheem jumped from the frying pan into the fire 😆
@@esjay-rh7wx 1000%!!!! 😂😂😂
Assuming he didn’t die in the end by Bianca spirit from Bones
Uhhhh wasn't JUICE 1ST⁉️.
When Pearl says " I won't" 😭🥺😔and " I love you" 😭😔🥺 I absolutely and positivity felt that in my heart.😭😔🥺
18:53 give shotgun his Oscar cause that’s me right there lol so shocked n scared I can’t do anything but make a ugly face 😂😂😂
This movie is actually inspired by a movie called JD,S Revenge from the 70s
I agree
I swear Bianca Lawson must have access to the fountain of youth because she legit does not age, she still looks the same 22 years later 😂😂😂
If she ever comes out with skin care line..
#billionairestatus
@@forthenostalgiaoh for sure! I hope I could only look half as good as her when I’m her age. It’s like her and Gabrielle Union know some secrets on still looking good 😂😂
@@packnetadaijathey vampires 😅😂😂
She’s the eternal teenager.
I did not know that Ricky Harris passed! He just had a birthday too. Rest in Power 🙌
Bones is a black classic, I enjoyed snoop's performance in this & loved he got the opportunity to work along side Pam Grier.
Ricky Harris passed in 2016. His death received little to zero fanfare.
You serious 🤔? Ricky Harris been dead for a few years
@@91Definite Yes, I am serious.
@@SaraitheBennudamn yeah he been dead since 2017 I think maybe 2018
Loved this classic. Gotta be honest Snoop actually killed this role and him playing the Love Interest to Pam Grier has to be a lifelong dream especially he always put on the "Pimp" Image and Persona like he Dolomite or Goldie from the Mack or something 😅.
Clifton Powell played in alot of movies he doesn't get enough credit fr, lastly, of course Bianca Lawson doesn't age her or Queen 👑 Pam Grier.
Rest in Peace Ricky Harris 🙏🕊️ he was hilarious in everything he played in as well.
Keep it up Queen and a request since it's Halloween 🎃 month, Can you review "Tales from the Hood" with Lamont Bentley (Hakeem from Moesha)
We forget Ricky Harris(R.I.P.) and Snoop go back since "Gin and Juice" 😂😂
Idk if she has done it yet, but I would love to see Bianca Lawson as a vampire or witch. She has the look for it…
I believe she played a vampire in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series
@@forthenostalgiaa vampire slayer named Kendra
@@forthenostalgiayup
She played as a witch in the Vampire Diaries. She was an ancestral witch to Bonnie who was a supporting character in it.
Funny thought: Being the fact that this film is called “Bones” it would’ve been cool if the group Bone thugs in Harmony would’ve did a song for the movie lol but nevertheless this film is a true underrated horror film. The beautiful & ageless Bianca Lawson, the LEGENDARY Pam Grier & uncle Snoop? Come on now, can’t get no better than this
Agreed. It would have been on brand for them at the time since they were rumored to be a part of the occult.
Ouija are you with me....mo murder me na,
So this is one of my favorite horror movies when I was a kid and my theory about the bed scene with Cynthia was that it wasn't Bones Spirit that got in bed with her I think because her mother said that she also had the gift of sight her being in that house made her spiritually tap-in to all the spirits behind the veil almost like she was a beacon for all the spirits that were attached to the house as well as Jimmy bones. Like how when Bill was laying in the bed the spirits all showed up reaching out the walls.
This was one of my favorite scary movies growing up! This month is going to be great.
You’re right about everybody deserving their karma, except Shotgun, although I understand Bones perspective in the situation as well. Shotgun could’ve died with him or died trying to save him.
Vampire in Brooklyn is the next movie.
All I needed to hear was Caribbean Vampire 😂
14:46 Clifton Powell will always be Pinky 😂😂😂
Im hollering at the silk press 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hair was laid 💇🏽
@@forthenostalgia yes and flowing everywhere
The blood coloring they used for this movie always annoyed me. It just looks like a red paint 🎨 idk
Yes!!! They couldve used corn syrup or something.
Same here they couldn’t get red Kool-Aid packets?
Fun fact it was homage to the Hammer Horror of the 60s and 70s....But it was a a very paintlike substance
@@darkservantofheaven lol not kool -aid packets lol
@@darkservantofheaven oh ok but it was still horrible lol
Essential halloween/spooky season viewing yearly!!❤ Snoop is a jack of all trades too😂 and Bianca Lawson is an ageless icon
This movie had me scared of snoop dogg when I was kid 😂 but it's funny to me now that I'm older
Omg I thought I was the only one this is hilarious 😂
Riight? My ass wouldnt even watch his music videos after lol
@@whispersweetnothingsuwu same he was bones until I was like 12 😂
Hold up I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard when you said there must be a mall in between realms with these people can get fresh before they come back to the living world I was dying😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Its the only thing that makes sense to me
The scene when Jimmy is confronting Eddie Mack and he is using glass shards as he is just standing their stoic is such a epic and badass image as of today it still gives me chills and goosebumps.😍😎💯👍😏😰😱
Pearl's storyline is absolutely and positivity so relatable on so many levels as it gives a insightful and articulate representation of grief, sorrow, agony, pain, trauma, and despair as you lost and witnessed the person's horrible death that you truly and dearly loved which traumatized you as it affected you emotionally and mentally for many years.🥺😔😭
The Kratos and Mimir comment was top tier! 👏🏾
I feel like Vampire in Brooklyn is next.. I could be wrong. All I know is, I’m gonna be laughing the entire time because chile..
It is. I would love to see a review on the movie that paved the way for Vampire In Brooklyn, Def By Temptation.
"Tales from the Hood" next please 😅
@@devantejackson5085she already did that. It’s on Spotify.
That Kratos & Mimir reference ❤️🔥🔥
Pearl’s dress reminds me of Dracula with Winona Ryder. Even in Blacula: the damsels wore green, and it’s an object of desire.
Snoop was so ecstatic to play Pam Grier's love interest in this movie
1. This was the first horror movie I’ve ever seen as kid and it scared me.
2. I have a black German Shepard now and he looks evil at night but he’s a big baby.
3. Bill was my first crush as well 😂
22:53 Cynthia got pulled back in the elevator shift, I think she died then. Hints why she got maggots
I had to stop the video when she said “maybe it’s a mall between realms”😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fun fact this was directed by the same man who did Juice. Earnest Dickerson.
He also did Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight....I recommend it
Pam Grier did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Pearl as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role as she displayed the elements of the character's grief, sorrow, agony, pain, trauma, and despair as she lost and witnessed the person's horrible death that she truly and dearly loved which traumatized her as it affected her emotionally and mentally for many years. This is one of her most greatest, iconic, and memorable roles in cinema.😍😎💯👍😏
The scene when Jimmy and Pearl are finally reunited is one of the most sweetest scenes in the whole entire movie.😍😎💯👍😭🥺😔
Bones (2001) is memorable, iconic, and well-known due to it's story, practical effects, direction, and performance's. It also pays homage to blaxploitation films of the 1970's and incorporate numerous elements from the genre.😍😎💯👍
Snoop hair used to be LAID
That Kratos GOW reference?!?! Is For Your Nostalgia a gamer??
😂😂😂 I am not a gamer. I like watching gamers play though
Bianca Lawson was Gorgeous
Bones is the first movie you agree with the killer for his actions I love this movie it’s such classic black film highly underrated. I love all the characters in here and the 1970 theme all the way till the current moment. I love how you cover this one of my favorite horror movies funny as well and great cast and by the way snoop did his thing with that hair that was laid and ofc Pam here fine self and Bianca Lawson was everything and ofc Patrick from juice I don’t know his real name but he been fine umkayyy they did their thang in this movie 🖤👑
Girl, the god of war joke was perfect!
18:34 I think bones controlled Cynthia the whole time
This is one of the reviews that i’ve been waiting for. Thank you so much. I first saw this movie in theaters with a buddy of mine. It was inspired by JD’s Revenge & it’s a love letter to the blaxploitation era. Fun Facts: This movie was directed by Earnest R. Dickerson. He did cinematography on movies such as Krush Groove, School Daze, Do The Right Thing & Def By Temptation. He also directed Juice, Bulletproof & Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight & Candyman Farewell To The Flesh.
Next week’s review is Vampire In Brooklyn.
Since it’s the month of Halloween can we please get reviews on the following horror movies:
Ganja & Hess
Blackula
Scream Blackula Scream
Sugar Hill (1974)
Abby
JD’s Revenge
Vamp
Def By Temptation
Even tho it's more of an action movie, I definitely nominate Blade
Legit last week I just found this channel and I was really invested in your perspective of these movies with a more mature viewpoint, I was also wondering why you didn’t do this movie yet but I see I just needed to be patient 😂
Such an underrated movie
I remember going to see this movie Halloween night with my mom & sister. It was a throw back combo of the Blaxploitation & Hammer Horror films back in the 60s & 70s.
22:46 - 22:50 That look from Bianca should've told a lot of people what happened before they got out of there... you hate to see it, but I honestly have to say that Patrick was probably not the main one who brought all this on. Considering that his father was involved long before he was even born, his father unintentionally set his son up as a sacrifice to Jimmy Bones. The opening of that old building as a club was just one way it all came back to bite him in the butt. Think about it.
The scary part is the pastors and politicians are EXACTLY like Jeremiah, still walking around talking down on the people they helped poison
Gurl, we all stand by Bones. Tia wasn't scared, ginger ain't scared if her cousin. In deadmeats killcount of this, james talked about Snoop and Pam. Snoop was loved that the woman grew up watching in movies was now kissing him.
Idk...you would be very surprised 😂
Technically, this is one of the only films where clifton powell doesnt play a bad guy.
What about RAY ?
Not true! Check out the Preaches Son
The Brothers as well
@@blackqueen7147
" One of the only films" = there were others but not many
He didn’t play a Bad Guy in Why Do Fools Fall In Love & The Gospel.
If y’all wanna know more about the behind the scenes of this mobile watch Black Noire they talk way in depth about this film
The fresh silk press comment took me COMPLETELY and UTTERLY out😂😂😂😂😂
This channel is quickly becoming a favorite of mine keep up the good work
14:46 can’t have a movie without him acting like he wants a oscar😂😂
Can the next video be “Child’s Play” 1987? That would be the best commentary video ever for the spooky season 🙌🏾🙌🏾
"Tales from the Hood" next please 😅
@@devantejackson5085 She already did Tales From The Hood but TH-cam took it down. It’s on her account on Spotify.
Shotgun was so scared 😂😂😂
I love how Jimmy says " You heard the man try it" 😏😈 it was just so sinister and well-deliver. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps.😍😎💯👍😰😱
That shit was wild 😂
@@91Definite Facts it was at that moment I ask myself " What in the wrong am I'm watching?" as it absolutely and positivity traumatized me.😅😰😱
" The gangster of love don't eat no fried chicken." 😈 One of the most hilarious and memorable lines out of the whole entire movie. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍😏🤣
I love your review
One of favorite class despite of me still hate the ending
Lesson for Maurice "never take from the dead" always end up bad
Theory I think bones attractive Cynthia because of her resemble of Pearl and didn't know of his child until after
And as for Eddie and Lupervich they had what coming to em , no buts about it
As for Jeremiah understand why Jimmy saved him for last , Bones loved Jeremiah as brother and wanted him and his friend to succeed but Jeremiah only wants in for himself then end up killing his best friend , shit on the neighborhood he came from and not only live his best life but had family while Jimmy never got to fulfilled that hint when Jeremiah ask tell me what you want Jimmy?" And Jimmy answered "Can you give me my life back"! Knowing it's already too late
" Heh heh it's a trip ain't it?" 😏😈 I love how Jimmy says it. It was just so hilarious and well-deliver.😍😎💯👍🤣
@19:53 girl no you didn’t 😂 girl this is why I live for your commentary just be having me dying
You know a smart black person would look in the house be instantly spooked and probably find another place to open a club.
By the way Bianca Lawson straight ageless I think this movie and Save the Last Dance I had a mad crush on❤❤❤❤❤
I'll be honest I kinda wanted Bones to come out on top in this one. 😈 Considering that ending, maybe he did. XD
I done forgot about this movie!! lol since you are doing scary movies for October, are you doing, “leprechaun in the hood?”
Hope she does "Tales from the Hood" next
@@devantejackson5085 she has apparently on something else
I was 15 when this movie came out, me and my brother rented it from blockbuster and we kept it for almost a month before we took it back 😂
I used to love this movie! It's still one of my favourites ❤❤
I've only seen Snoop's Hood of Horrors one time, but you should definitely cover that one too
His hair is luxurious. It's one of the first things I noticed.
The scene when Jimmy is holding Eddie Mack's decapitated head as he is containing his soul and Eddie angrily tells him off and Jimmy bangs his head on the wall which infuriates Eddie as he said " Oh you just going to bang my shit up against the wall?" 😡😡😡😡😡 is one of the most memorable and funniest scenes in the whole entire movie. LMAO it never gets old.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Here’s me hoping you’ll do more horror movie recaps 😩🙏🏻:
1. Scream
2. Queen of the Damned
3. Ginger Snaps
4. Jennifer’s Body
5. Nightmare on Elm Street
Anyway, any horror movie is good😂
Queen 👑 of the Damned starring my baby Aaliyah 🙏🕊️ and Freddy vs Jason starring Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child too
Snoop Dogg did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Jimmy Bones as he put tons of emotion and depth into his role as he displayed the elements of the character's coolness, confidence, and swag. This is one of his most greatest, iconic, and memorable roles in cinema.😍😎💯👍😏
The scene when Jimmy is confronting Shotgun as he did a hilarious scream is one of the most memorable and funniest scenes in the whole entire movie. LMAO it never gets old.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Classic! I still remember staying up n watching this on BET when my gma was sleep
Everytime when I watch the scene when Jeremiah has a flashback in the 70's when he was trying to persuade Jimmy to say yes to Lupovich and Eddie Mack to sell drugs in the neighborhood before the meeting and Jimmy says " That's your dream not mine. I don't ever wanna leave this street. Never." 😐 I felt that in my heart as Jimmy genuinely and sincerely cared and loved for his neighborhood and his people as he was the neighborhood protector spreading love and happiness in the community.😍😎💯👍
Why is homie braids going backwards 💀💀💀💀💀💀
" Dog eat dog brother dog eat dog." 😈 I love how Jimmy says it. It was just so sinister and well-deliver. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps.😍😎💯👍😏😰😱
Horror movies with black folks in it.
You gotta do Tales From The crypt's Demon Knight.
Jada survives all the way through.
Vampire in Brooklyn is the next movie
This is a hood classic. Used to watch it all the time. That dog scene is still crazy 😂
21:00 they didn’t figure out the dress solution till later. The blood yes but not the dress just yet
When Jimmy said " J Bird help me brother" and "Since we was grasshoppers" 🥺😔😭 I felt that in my heart as Jimny figure that Jeremiah will helped him since he was his best friend but unfortunately Jeremiah betrayed and brutally murder him out of jealousy and resentment.🥺😔😭
Fun fact: the director told Snoop he could use his medical herb but needed him sober due to safety risks during the stairwell fire scene. I believe it's floating on TH-cam still.
The bed scene with Cynthia was from one of the other spirits, not Jimmy
Can't wait to watch it after work!!!
"Tia's not worried about worms, rabies, her soul!" 🤣🤣🤣... I know its comical but are you planning to do Vampire in Brooklyn??? Tis the season
