The fact that Nino used that girl as a shield for the firing bullets not only displays how ruthless he really is, it also depicts how much of a coward he was, putting other people (a child, mind you) in a fatal position just to save his own malevolent skin.
In short, he was a narcissist.
Nino Brown or Lil Ze from City of God, who was worse?
@@JayCity10 I would say Ze Pequeño. Pequeño was a psycho, he really loved killing, although I don't know if he was like that in real life.
@@megamanxhunter Marlo Stanfield should be mentioned also, a complete inhuman. Perhaps he's worse than both.
That actually the most funniest scene ever
"SIT yo five dolla a$$ down before I make change!"
😂😂😂😂
CLASSIC LINE!!!!
That's the line of the movie for me 😂😂
One of the best lines of all time
@@snappwolftv 😂💯
@@snappwolftvYup.
Fun fact: Martin Lawrence was supposed to play the character Pookie. But later turned it down due to him mourning one of his mentors' deaths. That mentor is the legendary Robin Harris.
Yes. People said that Martin was hilarious as Pookie.
Wow I never knew that.I couldn't see Martin playing that role. Chris Rock was perfect playing Pookie.
❤
Martin years later parodied that famous living room scene in his show 😂
I can't tell if that's better or worse
I wonder if Ice-T just sent this in as his audition for law & order svu 😂😂
😂
@@AmiriHipHop 😂😂😂 Dora the explorer 😂😂 but please do it’s a good movie!
Don't forget New York Undercover! Still in NY, but he's the bad guy!
def high on the resume lol
He did come from narcotics in session 2 of SVU so it makes sense
Nino embodies everything that Bishop thought was on juice
I think Bishop was behaving more like a serial killer.
Bishop really was just "compensating" what he thought a man was due to his father (unfortunately) not being able to be there for his son.😢
@@MariettaJames-xb6isshe did it’s just on her Spotify because TH-cam didn’t allow her to post it
Nino is more of a psychopathic businessman most of his actions are money motivated bishop was just pure crazy
Bishop was more of an O-Dog type, than Nino Brown.
Out of all the hood classics, New Jack City is my top pick. Nino Brown is a terrifying villian.
And the cutaways to H-Town's Knockin' Boots always makes me laugh😂
Lol almost forgot that’s there classic
Yes! That meme sends me every time.😂😂😂
@@TierraSanea87they played that same shit all day all night.
This is my second most asked for suggestion after the Jacksons: an American dream
Yes since it’s black music month.
YES YES YES!!!!!
I agree I want more black bio pics
Wesley Snipes had one hell of a year in 1991,he did this movie and Jungle Fever, the versatility of Wesley. I hope to God that this movie never gets remake because this movie is a classic. If this movie was an all white movie Chris Rock would had been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Pookie.
Wesley Snipes was the only actor at the time who could go toe to toe with Denzel Washington.
@@therealmarlonbellamyYup.
New jack city soundtrack was fire, just was listening to it. I think the new jack swing era ‘88-‘93 was so cold
Christopher Williams was FINE!

"Your soul is required in hell" has got to be the illest thing to scream to someone before shooting them dead.
That was haunting.
I knew that old, black man was gonna-WACK-Wesley some time in this movie.
Yup.
Nick Paretti was played by Judd Nelson who most known for his role as John Bender in The Breakfast Club.
He was also a member of the brat pack.
Was looking for this comment
Yup.
@therealmarlonbellamy Yup. He was considered the worst actor in that group until the TV miniseries The Billionaire Boys' Club. It was based on a true story.

Too easy. The next movie is Hustle and Flow. I can't wait!
Nino using that little girl as a shield was showing you how evil he was
Yup. 👿
New Jack City is one of my favorite movies. That, Boyz N The Hood, Juice & Menace II Society is the Mount Rushmore of hood classics. Each movie taught us life lessons, launched a lot of careers & each movie is still relevant 30 plus years later. Pookie should have been in the X games the way he was riding that bicycle. Judd Nelson looked out of place in this movie because he was apart of the brat pack & he was in The Breakfast Club & St. Elmos’ Fire. Uniqua played by Traci Camilla Johns resembles Kelly Rowland. Some people didn’t know that was her playing Uniqua because she looked totally different in this movie. Here comes the fun facts: Martin Lawrence was supposed to play Pookie. He didn’t due to the untimely death of his mentor Robin Harris. Martin took Robin’s death really hard. Chris Rock bombed the audition. What made the writers, directors & producers have a change of heart when he said it keeps calling me man & calling me man. He embodied the crackhead role. Him & Allen Payne were also in CB4, Wesley Snipes & the late Bill Nunn were also in Mo Better Blues & Money Train, Bill Nunn & Michael Michelle were also in Def By Temptation & Bill Nunn was also on New York Undercover. One of the dudes who got smart with Scotty & Peretti when they asked where Nino lived was played by the late Leo O’Brien (Richie from The Last Dragon). Next week’s review is Hustle & Flow.
Uh, oh! New Jack City!!! I’m aging myself, but I 11 when the movie was released. Seen it, many, many times. Still, one of my all-time favorite movies.
Yup. Same here.
Saw in the theater.
@@Faceghost881977 I wished I could’ve. I saw Boyz N Da Hood, though.😁

R.I.P. Bill Nunn and Bill Cobbs!🕊️
Yup. And Nick Ashford.
(Nino's voice) "Cancel that b****! I'll buy me another one."
Uniqua looks like Kelly Rowland so much! Lol
Yup.
Wesley and diddy twins 😂😂😂 ong
I see it too. Especially the raspy voice and mannerisms of Nino
Diddy is a Nino Brown wannabe in real life.
15:18 "Rock A Bye Baby....."
😂😂😂😂 she thought she ate with that baby.

"New Jack Hustler" is banging!!!!!!!
When I saw in the credits they called him Duh-Duh Man, I been weak for the last 20 years over that😂😂😂😂
Wesley should got nominated for this role, i mean damn Nino Brown was a crazy villain.
One of my favorite movies 💯
This is one of my favorite 90s movies. This movie has so many one liners. Sit your five dollar ass down. When Nino did his rant in court. “ I’m taking everyone with me. This ish is bigger than Nino Brown” and when the old man said “ Nino your soul is required in hell ! Very good writing.
Yup.
A blunt and a FTN REVIEW always right on time
Sugar Hill was almost the same movie and Wesley played both roles well.
That was my movie back in the day.
Yup.
Judd Nelson played Nick Paretti
The Nino Ruthless Counter is dope.
Paretti is Judd Nelson of Brat Pack fame.
I used to watch this movie at least once a week. It's been two years since
Also at 3:52, that was the landlord but he wasn't Fat Smitty. Smitty was a rival drug dealer, and Keisha ended up blowing his head off in broad daylight.
Ok thanks that’s what I thought too honestly i been confused about that since forever 😂
(Kareem's voice) "Yo, I knew I knew Washington. Yo, he's 5-0, man."
Dang I hate I missed the premiere. I love New Jack City it’s one of my favorite 90s movies
Same here!
"That teacher you killed? That was my MOTHER!!!" As a teacher and the daughter (and granddaughter and GREAT-granddaughter) of a teacher, that line still hits me hard.
This movie is a classic! My oldest brother, older sister, and I went to see this movie 🎬!
R.I.P. Bill Cobbs.
Nino is in a warmer place right now
6840,what are you trying to say ??? LOL.
@@kerry-j4m let's just say he's looking up at us right now
@@christinethuo6840 OUCH. Point taken. LOL.
I remember watching this as a kid thinking that Nino just did a poor job rescuing that little girl.
1:11 My Pops told me the movies was packed ASF when him and Moms went on a date to see this!!!
Funny, I watched NJC two weekends ago on Tubi. I couldn’t stop singing living just enough for the city. Bad case of earworm. I saw NJC at the movies when I was a kid with some family members. I can still hear the audience reaction when Nino used that child as a bullet proof vest. I didn’t get it why people were so upset, but when I watched that scene as an adult, I cursed Nino out just like those adults did. This is true classic and the 90s nostalgia was so on point.
Certified hood classic! When I first saw this, it was definitely a culture shock! So many talented actors, we don’t get that anymoreeee
Nino The Drug Trade Gangster
I loved this movie also the next review is hustle & Flow 😀
I can't wait to she review this. I hope she has jokes because some of them scenes.😂😂😂😂
Movie is for sure a classic, in the mold of an old blaxplotation film. I honestly think there are some less than good performances, namely Ice T and Vanessa Williams, like they almost seem to be over and under acting at the same time.
But Wesley Snipes absolutely kills it, he kind-of carries the whole movie with how good he is as Nino Brown. Chris Rock did a good job as well and poor Allen Payne had to get bitched so much as G-Money!
Another good video!
How an old man got a gun into a courthouse with everyone watching and telegraphin it?
Apparently Scotty gave the piece to the Old Man because Scotty knew that jail wouldn't stop him
“SIT yo five dolla ass down” is used in my daily life too much 😂
The song that Teddy “new jack swing” Riley song is and was the best song in a movie in my opinion 😂❤
The song's name was "New Jack City"
Hustle And Flow…next review
The Memphis hunt gave me everything I needed to know that the next video is Hustle and Flow!
I knew the next would be Hustle and Flow when she said 2005 and pimp with a dream😂🔥
I would love to see you talk about Ray, Soldier story, welcome home Roscoe Jenkins,Why do fools fall in love, and The color Purple
I love how they used Scarface as reference toward this movie showing the different between Tony Montana and Nico Brown.
I wonder if Nino was Diddy’s inspiration for his Bad Boy persona? A lot of similarities 😅
Snipes is way more articulate...
Love this! You and Primm’s Hood Cinema are my go to for classic/hood movie reviews.
Ouuu girl Ice T was too fine back in the days😭😭
Classic Forever. Marvelous ensemble cast.
This is one of my favorites, and the soundtrack was amazing! Imagine my surprise when I first watched it and saw Judd Nelson from the 80's John Hughes classics 'The Breakfast Club' and 'St Elmos Fire' in a certified hood movie!😂🤯😂
New Jack City my family played the hell out of this movie
I wasn’t allowed to watch this growing up and honestly, I feel like I haven’t missed anything. Lol
The movie theater was absolutely LIT when this came out! 🔥 Definitely a classic!
Yup.
This use to be my favorite movie 🎬 for years
Fun Fact: Warner Bros wasn't too keen on letting Mario Van Peebles direct NJC, as they felt a rookie director was a bad bet. However, Clint Eastwood (whom starred alongside Mario in Heartbreak Ridge) told the WB execs to give Mario a shot. And thus, New Jack City was made.
Would you ever do a review on romeo must die starring aaliyah 🤔
You did a phenomenal job with this❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🏽🥰👏🏽👏🏽
Early !! Hey girl love you and can you cover hidden 90s black movies im looking for sum different to watch! For example Mississipi Masala or Crooklyn ❤
Those are both good movies 🎬.
For The Nostalgia said since Spike Lee’s movies are owned by Universal she won’t be able to show the full movie if she reviews them.
Mississippi Masala doesn’t receive nearly enough credit. I’d love to see that one analyzed by a good film reviewer.
@@PFCMelvinPeterson It’s a hidden gem 💎.
I don't know who's more ruthless. Nino or Shane and Negan from TWD. Hell, imagine them in the same room together😅
Better question is who will take out the other first?
Can you do Losing Isaiah, Jackie Brown, Django, and too wong foo in the future?
I smile EVERY single time someone has smeggs on these films because I know what's coming, and it tickles me every time.
This film was my first movie theater experience. My parents took my six month old self with them to see this in the theater with NO shame. 🤦😂

My Man King R&B Singer Mr Christopher Williams As Kareem Akbar
The Martin hint from the last video was such a perfect hint! Now I remember bits and pieces of this movie (I’ll have to watch it in its entirety later). Yes, Nino had no heart, no conscious, nothing. And I like the Ruthless counter/sticker. He was definitely a twisted Robin Hood in a way: being rich, harming and helping the poor. I applaud Scotty for holding his composure cause the way h-ll would’ve broke loose!! In the end, karma is real and Nino got what he deserved: smoked by that old man! A movie full of selfishness and bad decisions. Good review!
As for next week’s review, all I’m gonna say is it’s hard out here for a pimp! H&F!!
😂 Yes mayne
@@forthenostalgia I’m so weak 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it me or does Nino reminds anyone else of Diddy?! 😮😢
That was his inspiration
I love your videos! Nino Brown reminds me of "little brown boy." Maybe this was for a deeper meaning.
Id love to see you do videos on cw show the game. Your reviews are awesome
Nick Paretti is played by Judd Nelson, not Mario Van Peebles.
Can you do “Why do fools fall inlove” please 🫶🏿
Hustle and flow? Yessssss

i seen this movie over 1000 times, I finally caught this. Scotty could have stopped the old man, but at that point he was like "F" it.
The next review gotta be Hustle and Flow lol
Great review
Oooh that's the part I hate the most when he uses that poor baby as a shield. Trifling a$$
Such an underrated movie
He wanted the community to worship him and put them in a false sense of security so when he calls for them, their sheeple selves would come. Hence, tossing money and giving out food like he's oh so generous.
Lol this is gonna be good
I don't know why, but do y'all think Nino is supposed to represent the American government and the Carter residents/surrounding area represent the black community as a whole?
- Kicking the Carter residents out of their apartments for his headquarters, mirroring the displacement of black families during urban renewal projects that often led to gentrification.
- Introducing a cheaper, more addictive drug into into the already drug system he had (many had no choice but to take it), mirroring the 80s/90s crack epidemic.
- Giving money and food to the displaced Carter residents as if it wasn't his fault they're like that, mirroring welfare programs like ebt and section 8 in attempt to seen as helping, but the root causes of the problems (often linked to systemic issues) are not addressed, leading to a cycle of dependency and control....
lol, i may just be overthinking but yeah. forgot to add, great analysis/commentary btw! very much spoke on/pointed out several things that i questioned/noted as well!
I love your reviews! Can you please do a review on The Women of Brewster Place movie?
Another week. Another request for the hidden gem "O"
It'll happen.
