This is one of the better off road videos I've seen yet. This is the kind of wheeling I grew up doing in the San Bernardino mountains. It's not about how big the rocks are, it's about getting out with the family and having fun. Also, respect for throwing the strap to a wheeler in trouble. I thought those days were gone too. I'm building my JK for exactly this type of wheeling. Your rig is set up nice
I did this trail in my 09 Rubicon when it was stock height and street tires. I made it somehow. But that was the day I decided to lift my jeep. American Fork Canyon is a fun place! I live in Sandy.
Gotta love Utah trails. Anywhere from MOAB to SLC offers amazing trails. I live in SLC and there are some awesome trails only 30 minutes away. God I love Utah.
Hi there, nine years later hope I catch you. Haha. Do you still live in Utah? I have been out here now for three years and I live in Draper. Absolutely love it. Where do you normally go off routing in the winter? I know there’s some trails in the west desert and what not, but anything close by draper that’s fun in the winter?
Did this trail when it was covered in ice with a layer of snow. Unfortunately Im not around to wheel it during a different season. Nice to actually see what it consists of.
I live in Provo and can't wait for spring to go on this trail. I've never done it before but it looks really fun. What are some fun trails to do around here in the winter time. American Fork is closed during winter, right? Thanks.
Thanks, the rear flares are bushwacker, I had trail mods with the removable flares. They were very flimsy, I loved the idea and they looked good, but could not hold up to the work I put them through. The rear flares broke off, so I put my older bushwacker flares on the rear, the trail mods, fronts were still good at that time... and so still on. I have since traded them all out. Take care.
These wheels are XD addict with 40 by 13.5 MTR, to run a tire that large you need to upgrade the axles and it sets off a whole chain of expensive modifications. If you have dana 45 axles stick to 35 inch tires, maybe 37 inch with gussets to strengthen the knuckles. The lift is Off Road Evolution, it works great, but is costly, I probably wouldn't spend that much money again. There are many good lifts for less money, mine is set at about 5 inches with the coil over shocks. Have fun, be safe!
Evo Built Baby! I got my gears done there. Wish i had the money to their suspension, tire carrier, dynatrac axles atx wheels n 40 inch nittos and everything else on mine 2. Only in my dreams.
I did this trail with my jk, all I had to do was get rubicon rock sliders front and rear bumpers replaced with 1/2 steel plates I also have what used to be a 6" lift but its saggy and allows it to be I think a 2 1/2 inch lift on my jk, with 25's no fenders ect. it gets awsome flex with the saggy springs.
@xGreatShadamehrx Smittybilt XRC front bumper, it is heavy, but strong and inexpensive. The Jack is a Hi Lift, from Hi Lift you can buy 'tube mounts' for the jack. They go around the front stinger and tighten in place. You should be able to find them at the Hi lift website. The bumper comes with a couple of predrilled holes to mount the lights, I just wired the lights to the factory foglight wires to use the factory on off switch.
No, you don't want to go larger than a 35 on the stock door, even then you will need an extension bracket for clearance, don't go larger than 35 inches due to the weight on the door hinges
@guntic1122 Full width Dana 60 axles are 3 inches wider...1.5 inches per side, I like the look and overall I think it helps stability offroad, but it sacrifices some turning radius/maneuverability in tight spaces and makes it harder for street legal tire coverage
It is up American Fork Canyon, you go East past Tibble Fork Resevoir. The Utah 4x4 Club usually has a yearly trip, or send me a post when it opens after the snow melt and I would be happy to take you up.
I love how the $12k Tj looks like its way more fun than the $50k Jk LOL. Why do you have bypass shocks? Are you racing in king of the hammers, or competing in some sort of race somewhere? Most likely not.
false. I'm a purist. I love when people over build their jeep or prerunner for no other reason other than because it looks so cool bruh. I will give credit where its due though, at least this guy is out wheeling that $4k in suspension and not just street queening it. cudos :)
+Todd Palmer What do you care if people build what they like? Why can't people do it for looks if they want? It isn't your money. I have no problem with balls to the malls Jeeps. A ton of trail Jeeps started out as road queens and are toughened up as time and money allow. There's room for everyone in the Jeep family. If you think not, then you probably are a hater.
I was originally planning on a Hemi swap, but spent way to much anyway. I didn't want to get the basic coilovers and regret it later. Doing things twice I have found is more expensive. I don't regret the double bypass shocks, but you are right they ended up being unnecessary and I wouldn't do it again. To Off Road Evolutions credit they told my I wouldn't need them and even suggested not doing the "Double throw down" The Jeep didn't have enough power in sand to gain any speed to get airborne. When I build my next one it wont have the EVO double throwdown. I have had a ton of fun with the Jeep and it is practically unbreakable unless I do something really stupid. It is interesting all the comments and opinions and I agree with you. When I posted these videos it was mostly just for me to remember the friends and trails. I didn't really expect many people to ever watch it :)
No, Dynatrac Pro Rock 60's, don't put anything bigger than 35-37 on dana 44's...mine started to bend the knuckles with the heavy toyo 37 MT on my earlier stock 44's
hi W, i need some information about your wheels, tier, and suspension. (brand and size). im inspired your black rubicon.. I do not know much (good brand, good quality, size) please reply and tanks lol.
Tj's had a 4.0L inline 6 @jarhead. Guy in the Tj needs to but some grab handles for the roll bars so his buddies don't put their hands out there like that. Huge no no! The jk is setup quite well although if I was going to be running over rocks like that I'd look into getting some dif guards. Crack one of those light duty covers and dump the fluid on the ground and ya won't be going far. Good video tho!

Beautiful jeep and beautiful park
that rubi gave me chills! beautiful rig man!
I did this trail in my 09 Rubicon when it was stock height and street tires. I made it somehow. But that was the day I decided to lift my jeep. American Fork Canyon is a fun place! I live in Sandy.
Looked like a nice day. Thanks for sharing.

Sick video i love watching passenger side obstacles
Love the JK (as I own one as well) but I am very impressed with the TJ, it handled that trail well. Great video!
I want a Jeep... I can't afford one though... The scenery there is absolutely beautiful!
i must say, that is one bad ass jeep. Props
I love So UT, not really ever in Northern UT but what I have seen of So UT I like a lot. Nice Vid!

Both you guys have really nice jeeps
Wonderful trip. I want to make it on a trial bike with a bunch of friends.
dude Ive prob seen this video 50x - love the look! thanks for info on set-up, but what type of flares are those?
Did this trail when it was covered in ice with a layer of snow. Unfortunately Im not around to wheel it during a different season. Nice to actually see what it consists of.
Thanks for doing a decent video of offroading! Oh yeah!
awesome video awesome rigs
the tj makes me so happy :)
I am looking into getting a new rubicon and was wondering if yours transmission is manual or automatic? Love the videos. Thanks
sweet vid, awesome jeep
cool video, camera guy did a great job...love the angles
lol i enjoyed watching you guys driving over little rocks....mall crawlers
That's a cute trail. Come visit the Rube someday.
Awesome job!
I live in Provo and can't wait for spring to go on this trail. I've never done it before but it looks really fun. What are some fun trails to do around here in the winter time. American Fork is closed during winter, right? Thanks.
Cars go around rocks and that can be fun, my jeep looks for them, it is the same idea, just a different kind of fun.
Take care.
wow, beautiful rig
Nice Jeep bud. What maker is your lift and what length is it? Also, what size tires are you running?
some sick ruts!
Can't wait to have this car!
Good looking jeeps
That trail has quite a variety of obstacles.
my 75 blazer loved this trail

what kind of axels do you have
thanks..........and love your jeep wish i had EVO on my jk
2006 jeep wrangler unlimited
2007 jeep wrangler unlimited
Evo Built Baby! I got my gears done there. Wish i had the money to their suspension, tire carrier, dynatrac axles atx wheels n 40 inch nittos and everything else on mine 2. Only in my dreams.
Who makes your winch/bumper? i love how you have the jack on the front and the lights! thanks!
who did you have do all the upgrades(lift, installation of winch ect)? like your local jeep dealership or yourself or a shop?
That is one awesome looking 4dr jeep. What size lift and tires are you runnung on that beast?
Ugh im soo jealous of that 4 door rubicon
Love the exaust location and xrc bumper!! Awsome JK!
did you have to modify your spare tire holder? Or can the stock one actually hold a large tire like that
That black JK looks unbreakable.
I see that you guys ride with a spare tire and a winch. But do you also have a full chest of tools on board somewhere for the unexpected?
I did this trail with my jk, all I had to do was get rubicon rock sliders front and rear bumpers replaced with 1/2 steel plates I also have what used to be a 6" lift but its saggy and allows it to be I think a 2 1/2 inch lift on my jk, with 25's no fenders ect. it gets awsome flex with the saggy springs.
jks are beasts i dont care what they say. good vid man
had you damaged the exhaust on rocks previously and decided to move it to behind the rear bar?
I just ran into them on the trail, I think they didn't disconnect the sway bar... or they have no flex
I have custom pro rock 60 axles with the 40 inch tires, king coil overs dialed up to about 6 inches of lift, I did some minor cutting for clearance
What is your setup on the 4-door? Suspension life and tire size?
Very awesome video. Keep up the good work! Do you have a build thread of your jeep anywhere?
What size tires are on the jk
@xGreatShadamehrx Smittybilt XRC front bumper, it is heavy, but strong and inexpensive. The Jack is a Hi Lift, from Hi Lift you can buy 'tube mounts' for the jack. Nice video, what kind of sliders do you have?
I dig those coilovers
No, you don't want to go larger than a 35 on the stock door, even then you will need an extension bracket for clearance, don't go larger than 35 inches due to the weight on the door hinges
What exhaust do you have on the JKU in the beginning? it sounds good!
great job on the camerawork. the camera person must've walked the entire trail lol
@guntic1122 Full width Dana 60 axles are 3 inches wider...1.5 inches per side, I like the look and overall I think it helps stability offroad, but it sacrifices some turning radius/maneuverability in tight spaces and makes it harder for street legal tire coverage
are you running your stock dana 44s on the jeep with the 40 inch tires?
It is up American Fork Canyon, you go East past Tibble Fork Resevoir. The Utah 4x4 Club usually has a yearly trip, or send me a post when it opens after the snow melt and I would be happy to take you up.
Tires are Goodyear MTR 42 13.5 R17, Lift is Off Road Evolution, they have several options on their site
I'm just wondering, is the jeep supposed to be that slow, or was the guy just driving it slow?
Thats what i figured, I have an 89 Yj without any spare bracket, i was just curious how you did yours!
What's the elevation at the little lake? Beautiful country.
Nice rig!
What kind of lift, suspension, and tires are you running?
9:04 makes me so happy
are you still running stock axles on the 4 door rubicon?
i had one for a while, got new steering linkage, alignment, replaces all the bushings, and then after that it finally went away
I love how the $12k Tj looks like its way more fun than the $50k Jk LOL. Why do you have bypass shocks? Are you racing in king of the hammers, or competing in some sort of race somewhere? Most likely not.
Damn ur a hater'

I just think its funny is all. Not trying to hate, sorry it came off that way. Also balls to the mall jeeps, love it, never heard that one before.
I was originally planning on a Hemi swap, but spent way to much anyway. I didn't want to get the basic coilovers and regret it later. Doing things twice I have found is more expensive. what kind of exhaust system is on the jk? it sounds awesome
what are the specs on the 2 door at the beginning? lift size and tire size?
looks like fun
No, Dynatrac Pro Rock 60's, don't put anything bigger than 35-37 on dana 44's...mine started to bend the knuckles with the heavy toyo 37 MT on my earlier stock 44's
40 inch tires on the stock 44s? WOW. How much lift?
hi W, i need some information about your wheels, tier, and suspension. (brand and size). im inspired your black rubicon..
I do not know much (good brand, good quality, size)
please reply and tanks lol.
do your kids love wheeling too?
Thanks for not adding music
What tires are those on the rubicon and what size?
Tj's had a 4.0L inline 6 @jarhead. Guy in the Tj needs to but some grab handles for the roll bars so his buddies don't put their hands out there like that. Huge no no! Damn... I want a jeep :)
