    Aw thanks man. This shout out made my week. I’m so pleased to have helped reignite the interest. I also like the retro look of the rubik and love to see the enthusiasm!

    I just picked up the Rubik! I absolutely love it. It’s taking wrist time from my more expensive pieces. I used to have a Casio A158 for around the same price. This Armitron absolutely blows it out of the water. Great review!!

    I had a Casio 168 for work. I'd bang it up a bit and it was exposed to brief puffs of steam, etc. The plastic chrome coating would blister pretty quickly. I tried the Rubik and LOVE IT! I prefer the button configuration as well. Better weight and prefer the wider band.

    Armitron caught my attention recently. I've been looking at both Rubik and Ridgemont. Casio is fantastic, but a steel cased digital with mineral crystal is quite something else.

    The greatest watch in the world. I see great minds think alike. What the hell do you need a Rolex for? When you can get it all stainless silver or gold Rubik's Armitron. As a guy who has spent thousands on high-end watches, I have never enjoyed a watch as much as I enjoy this one.. great video!

      I know I would enjoy this watch if it were saying 38 mm wide instead of 34.5. As it stands, they are losing customers because they won’t make it larger.

    I have to admit that I have never heard of Armitron before being a USA company. I saw the Rubik in a review here in the UK a few days ago 'Bens watch club' who purchased it from Amazon Global Store. The watch looked amazing and I was going to purchase it. However I also saw on Amazon Global Store myself another Armitron which was an analogue/digital watch which was similar to a Casio that I had a few years ago. I have ordered this watch instead and should be with me next week sometime or the following week as my last order from Global store was delivered to me in 7 to 8 days for a Invicta Pro Diver which wasn't available here in the UK. The Armitron that I have ordered is cheaper than the Casio I used to own and looks much better and with better specs than the Casio. I look forward to receiving and wearing it. Thanks for your review and I will probably purchase the Rubik next.

    One other feature is the year display if you press the start/stop button when in time mode. Can't remember if that Casio has that as well.

    I was interested in this watch, so much that I purchased it on a whim. I didn’t realize it was 34.5 mm. I’m not a big guy and I’m not a fat guy, but I have a 7 1/2 inch wrists. This watch is just too tiny to wear on my wrist. So it went back. If Arbitron, Casio, antimasques would make their watches 38 mm they would sell so many more of them

    Always slowly spin the screws counterclockwise until you feel the two parts mate threads, then screw in.
    I haven't managed to cross thread anything since doing that.

    Enjoyed the review. The all stainless build makes these a no brainer when comparing to Casio, Timex etc. I have the Griffy in stainless with red LED, the Rubix with the black face and blue trim with 5 link brushed bracelet and the Rouge with the polished tapered bracelet, very cool looking on the wrist. These cheap watches get as much wrist time as my nice watches lol!
    I was surprised to hear you say these have mineral crystals, so that makes it an even better value compared to the competition. I would prefer acrylic for easy repair. Since you're a watchmaker can you confirm? I was about to try and polish out one of these so that'd be a mistake!

      Thank you for the fantastic comment! I think these are fantastic watches for the money. I don’t see why Casio cannot make these watches for the same price. Maybe they just don’t want to. When it comes to the Crystal I have not tested thoroughly in regards if it is actually mineral however auditorily it sounds like mineral glass. Does not sound very light and hollow like plastic crystals do. Also the edges are too crisp and hard to be plastic. Compared to my Casio they have a warmness to the edge whereas these have a sharp crystal like edge to them. Way too sharp to be plastic. I’m glad to see that you have so many! I just recently picked up the Griffey and the review should be out this week.

    Is the Rubik's and Rogue's crystals really mineral glass ? Armitron's website shows them both as acrylic resin. Normally if it is glass the bevel on the crystal is normally opaque white, but photos shows it as clear which leads me to believe it is indeed acrylic.

    • @markcoffman494
      @markcoffman494  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      According to my tests, it seems to be a mineral Crystal. They seem to be too hard to be just a resin plastic.

    Where is this model's spec? I'd like to see things like thickness (the cheaper Casio A158 is only 8.2mm), battery life (7 years for Casio), accuracy and confirmation about case and glass materials.
    Note that Hesalite is actually acrylic or plexiglass, not mineral glass.

  • @SeanFlaherty
    @SeanFlaherty ปีที่แล้ว

    How accurate is the movement? Most newer Casios only lose a second or so per week, very accurate. Timexs, I've found, are much less accurate than Casios.

    • @markcoffman494
      @markcoffman494  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not tested it, but I am aware that this is from a Q&Q Wristwatch, which is made by Citizen watch company. I have not tested the accuracy.

    • @Xanduur
      @Xanduur ปีที่แล้ว

      Even a four dollar digital watch is going to lose or gain no more than 15 Seconds of months. The average person doesn’t need that type of accuracy my automatic game seven seconds a day and I survive just fine.
