I've met defectors in Seoul..they have the same look in their eyes. Imagine going through what he went through just to get out and then knowing NK government could still try to find you, kidnap you, and take you back to NK..its happened before..you know the NK gov would make that point known to everyone. Imagine wondering what happened/is happening to your friends and family back home. ..how severely they're being punished for your actions. I pray this man, and all defectors, find peace and are able to live happy lives.

This young man is a true American patriot; he genuinely fought for, understands and appreciates freedom. His story brought tears to my eyes. He lived through things even Satan would hesitate putting someone through. Words cannot describe how much I commend his courage, and I also commend the integrity of the Chinese man who saved his life. I'm thankful to God that He brought him to peace and safety.

My moms friend is a North Korean defector. She crossed into China with her friends when she was very young at night. She was tall, she survived but her friends didn’t. In China, she had people helping her, and she learned Chinese very quickly. She now lives in Virginia

@@Phyrren Exactly. I just witnessed a 16 year old have a temper tantrum because his mom *almost* didn't buy him a Redbull and a Chocolate bar in a grocery store.
I think that would just desensitize the students, because if they see it every day it won't have the same effect on them over time, the same way how a lot of students don't fully grasp the meaning behind the pledge of allegiance because it is a daily thing and is just the "dumb thing we have to recite every morning". Instead it would be better to have a part of the curriculum set for it like a large project which requires thought and research.
