Floors voice in the chorus is supposed to blend with the choir, she's a part of them. Tuomas spent months on mixing this album to get it exactly how he wanted us to hear it. "Fixing" the mix and uploading it as a "better" version is just incredibly disrespectfull. This version sounds weird.
And the remix took out some of the sounds, like the winding of the owl's head, the roar of the "arm dragon" on Floor, etc. The "remix' made it more bland, IMO. Shameful.
Yes, Troy. From the water to the land and back to the water where it all began. The cycle continues. The mix puts her more in the mix which adds a haunting almost ghostly effect to this song. It was mixed that way as part of the concept of the song. Welcome back Bruce!

From the upcoming album Yesterwynde, due out Sep 20. It's the 3rd in a trilogy of albums, along with Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human:II:Nature, all dealing with life, science, evolution, etc. They didn't know what to call this album, how to express it in words, so they made up a word. Troy came up with Yesterwynde. You've done 2 from EFMB (Shudder Before the Beautiful and yours is an Empty Hope) and none from Human nature. When you come back to NW, and to get a better idea of the themes of the trilogy, check out "Weak Fantasy" and the 21 minute "The Greatest Show On Earth", both EFMB, and both played at Tampere 2015 or Wembley 2015. "Noise" is a good start on Human Nature, that has a great music video, lives from Deichbrand and Hellfest 2022.

Well Nightwish dont dissapoint "do you fell the ghost energy song" I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when it can work so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it.. cant wait for rest of album!! Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. Always the original first! There are some artistical choises, but they are valid. I've heard the Nightwish arena mixes. They are maybe better for the Floorlover like l am. Hell, if l could l'll do a mix, where only she is belting her lungs out all the time. But then again, l'm not an artist, nor the composer or the band leader. I'm nobody here - like you. @@TheMindofBruce I was one of the first (in the heat of the moment) who asked the remastering (when l noticed the "flaw" when hearing firstly the audio). But then l've watched about 40 reactions to the original, and l kinda regret. The original is done by much much better professionals than we are, and it's their choice. It's maybe not the best we like, but it's the original. They have seen the feedback, which is about 50/50. They have the time to make adjustments for the album version (most probably not). So, l decided not to watch alternative versions, because it would be endless swamp to go. All'n all, it'a a great song and most likely a award winning video.

This version doesn’t sound weird. I guess some people are upset they can hear Floor too well. I would also guess they were always disappointed that Floor’s voice was raised in the mix since she joined NW (compared to mixing Tarja’s voice) and not just on this song.🤷♂️
I think the weird feeling comes from the absence of the sound effects. These enhance the visual experience but detract from the audio. Floor sounds fine to me in the audio version on Apple Music.
