This is a very good video. One of the problems with the way skills are taught today is that it is made to "look so easy that anyone can do it". This coupled, with videos short enough that people will actually take the time to watch them, presents not enough information to act upon, even with a series of video steps. For my part, I worked with my pole lathe for 4 years before I even considered taking it out into the world. I grew up with Sears and Roebuck selling tools with the slogan "You too can get professional results first time and every time" if you have their router or whatever other tool you fancied. After almost 30 years in construction and working with wood, I knew this was not so. "Experience as a teacher, is often thought the best. But, you don't know what to study until after you've taken the test."- Nipsey Russel.
For trimming the bowl? It's called a twca cam, I have a recent video going into it's use a bit more. Mine is made by a Welsh blacksmith, Nic Westermann

Love all of your videos!
Would you be willing to give plans for your awesome pole lathe?
I used freely available plans by Owen Thomas when I built mine. @OwenThomaswoodcraft
Looks awesome, well done!
Thanks!
I’m impressed. What kind of spoon knife with long handle are you using there?

Bummer on that bottom getting too thin. I did the exact same thing on my bowl yesterday.
When you deed up the video it sounds like an old steam engine
