Flying Bucharest to Ukraine via Poland - Part 1, LOT Airlines to Kiev, grey skies! - Jan 2021.

Decided to use tickets that had been on hold after Belarus trip got cancelled due to the introduction of a 10 day mandatory quarantine in Belarus if coming from Romania. So given Ukraine is open to anybody from any country again, with a few conditions, decided to use the tickets. Flew the whole way on LOT Polish Airlines, who I think are always very good. First leg was Bucharest to Warsaw Chopin airport, about 1 hour and 40mins, wait an hour in Warsaw then only takes 1 hour from Warsaw to Kiev Borispol airport.
This video is just the flights there and not much on the Warsaw to Kiev leg as it was dark by then and grey and cloudy so couldn't see anything anyway. I will put out maybe two more videos on the trip and on the way back I have more of the Kiev airport side.
Just a few tips for flying in the EU currently. Use the IATA travel map at www.iatatravel... to check the status of the border restrictions where you are going, as they can change weekly! Know if you will need to quarantine or not or have a Covid PCR test with you. Also check our own Romanian Politia de Frontiera Romana website www.politiadef... to see which countries are on Romanias isolation list. If you come back from them you will need to isolate at home for 14 days. Look for the most current 'lista țărilor/zonelor cu risc epidemiologic' .
If you want to go to Ukraine look at visitukraine.t... and check your entry requirements. If you come from a Red country like Romania, we need to have Ukrainian travel insurance, you can buy on that site for about 10Euro and get it electronically. No need to print, just show Ukrainian passport control on your phone. You will need a negative PCR test less than 3 days old with you or you can do it in Ukraine at the airport, much much cheaper than in Romania and results come back within 24 hours, mine only took about 12 hours. They give you 24 hours to get to where you are staying and then you must stay there until the result is sent to the application on your phone you need to download. The app will then see we have your negative test, you are free to leave isolation. Was all pretty smooth.
