My miata only has one blue wire. (It’s a 97) I can key flip but it’s inconsistent with how loud it pops. I would like to do this but I can’t figure out an easy way to do it
Key on & off you're loading the cylinders with gas which in time will destory the engine. When I was a teenager. We would load the cylinders (created a back fire) hard. Turn the ignition back on it would sound like a 12ga. Shotgun. Blew my muffler apart & split the pipe!
That's why you remove any mufflers and catalytic converters. You are loading the exhaust with fuel. The engine acts as a pump and pumps it out the engine
@@ianzalewsky3051 well usually in an ideal setting you’d want the engine to have only a mist of fuel when it detonates so that the fuel completely goes away. When you load the engine with fuel, and then turn it on it won’t ignite as easy because it’s in liquid form (harder to ignite). Wherever it is either in the pistons, or it may go into the exhaust, and when it gets hot enough and ignites it’ll ignite much harder potentially causing damage.
My dad always had this with his mk2 golf gti It went BOOM and the whole street was laying straight up in bed, such big flames, it would make a aventador jealous
🤔 I wonder if you could just wire in a flasher relay to the other bypass ignition relay so when you hit the flames the flasher relay flashes off and on your ingition
Because the coils require a little more amperage and you would need a bigger switch to handle that. Routing it through a relay helps you route the wires where you want them to be, alot easier. You're also able to use a smaller switch.
so switch goes to relay and ground, positive goes to relay, relay goes to ignition wire and ignition wire comes back to relay? can you use a 4 pin relay? and does it matter which wire goes to which pin?
Yea but you would have to use an on and off switch like he did since the 4 pin relay doesn't have an normally closed side ... so 85 would be positive (then in between the supply is where you would put the switch to deactivate the relay ) and 86 negative , 30 and 87 would go between the ignition wire ( each side of the wire goes on one side 30 and 87) ..
The reason is because it's thicker, meaning the coils pull more amperage. You can do that, but you have to use wires and a switch that can handle the higher amperage
would this work if the catalytic converter has been gutted? Its quite hard to decat my car as the catalytic converter is part of the exhaust manifold so i had it gutted.

The reason for relays is because the wire that you mightve put a thru switch is a thicker/higher amperage wire. To prevent having to put on a fat boy switch that can handle that amperage, all you do is use thinner wires to control the relay which is in turn controlling the thicker wires that are connected to the coils
