These bikes are real gems. Honda sold them by the thousands in their time and I can remember shops not getting enough of them. Excellent presentation and congratulations to the owner 👍🏽
The older Hondas are always worht the money. We can only hope that Honda brings the new VFR at some point soon. Can check my content when you can. Cheers. Ride safe and thanks a lot.
I wanted one when I first started ride in 92 93 but I'm glad I never got one in 89 the FZR 600 put this bike to the back of the line but that was very short lived in 91 Honda came out with the cbr 600 F2 and the FZR was done after that the F2 made the F1 a turd and the F2 sold thousands I'd say more than Honda sold with the F1the F2 it was the cool kids bike it was king of the 600cc for years now if you had a FZR 400 and put a FZR 600 motor in FZR 400 with a 630cc kit in it to boot then you would have a F2 killer my friend did that but yep the F2 was the bike back in the 90s for 600cc now when its big brother came in 93 the CBR 900RR that was another bike the rich cool kids had to have
You should put a set of braided steel brake lines on it. That will help immensely when it comes to braking feel. I wouldn't trust those rubber 1987 lines in the first place.
A great bike, I owned a red/silver one brand new in 1987 and still own one that colour and year. A ground breaking bike at the time Greetings from England 🙂
I remember a tall friend taking one for a test ride when they were new - and saying he felt like he needed to hide behind the ignition key for wind protection! For the brakes, the older twin piston sliding calipers have a habit of sticking - especially on the pins the caliper slides on. Easy enough to strip down and sort out. A lot of older bikes had master cylinders with a fairly large bore to minimise lever travel - and brake feel suffers due to this.
I don't get the dislike of the smaller capacity FZRs I had an FZR500. Especially built for the Austrian market. I did track days on it, did max speed test on the freeway and even touring the Großglockner, rode many mountain passes etc. Never given me any issues. Absolutely bulletproof. Bike size was a bit too small for me, but that is the only negative I can say. So to pick a good condition FZR 600 is not a bad idea. IMO..
I don’t dislike them i actually do like them quite a lot it’s just that they can have a few issues that this bike has not. For example the Engine in the 600cc Platform that can get Problems above 70000 km or the transmission that is Shared with the 400 wich does Not Like the power of the 600. as a result if you own one sooner or later you will have to replace the Engine but thats doable and not to expensive if you can do it yourself
i have 3 of them, all off the road because i cant get certain engine parts. they're fantastic bikes but i'd say to anyone buy the f2/3/4 as they share engine parts and things like bodywork can still be found.
I prefer the Kawasaki GPZ600R although I'm aware the CBR600 is a better bike. From the Honda 600s, I prefer the 1992 F2 model. Nevertheless, great bike and great review! Love these "RoadRash" style bikes from late 80s and early 90s!
@FreeMilesMC the Kawa GPZ500 and the CB500 from the mid 90s are also great bi cylindrical commuter bikes with great handling! There's an Austrian youtuber with one of these 500s, "eating" the Alps turns full throttle!
Buying used at these prices is always a gamble and also this happens so to a mechanics error that the garage fixed without extra charge. At some point there will be a video on what to look for to minimize the risk on a less then 1000 euro purchase
If at some point even uglier motorcycles were built than today, then it was certainly these plastic bombers in the 1980s/1990s Suzuki shot the bird with the RFr models.
@@FreeMilesMC I dont have the aesthetic approach to that kind of bike. If i remember that mint and kind of magenta colored nightmare of suzuki plastics. This Honda also seems to have a rotary wheel embedded in the plastic surface to operate the choke. The engine and carburetors are buried somewhere deep under plastic. I'm too old for this interpretation of the theme "A motor between 2 wheels"
Another old bike, another horror story. Of course carbs are messed up, then they tried to fix it and they ended up destroying and having to rebuild it, 4000 euros repairs in a 600 euro bike! Classic story! And for 5000 euros you can buy an almost new or even new motorcycle that runs well... like new! With design and mechanicals from 2024, tech, handling, looks etc. Another story, another moral, never buy an old bike, its a money pit that will never run perfect, and even if it does, you have a piece of junk from 30 years ago instead of something new!
They have their charm, just have to use them according to their technical level and service them regularly. And you can still keep a nice, new bike right next to them in the garage..
Please don't say motorcycle a million times. You sound like a car magazine presenter 😅 Somebody who has clearly no idea about bikes. Which you're not.. Also suggest to swap the wooden spoon to a steel wrench or adjustable spanner. Much cooler than being a chef 😉

Thank you 😊 (I am the owner)
Those are great news as it meens many of them end up on the used market ☺️

I love this era of 600's. Honda totally nailed these bike, with power and performance. I'd love to stumble across a clean one. Ride safe.
Just buy one, and use it
They are a f**king good bike and a whole lot of laughs. Question is, are you good enough of a rider to get the best out of one!
The F3 is an even bigger jump, F4I even more
Finally. This is the older brother to my 600F -96
It’s a great bike ☺️
I just sold mine a few weeks back. It was a cool bike but there's definitely better bikes out there 😁
@@TragicAyk for sure! Next s Husqvarna Vitpilen 2025 yellow or new Yamaha Tenere 2025 :-)
Nice video. All CBRs are very nice machines. Who knows why they did such a "painful" sidestand? :)

Greetings back from Germany ☺️
‼️‼️ Wow…… love it ‼️‼️
Me too
What a great dealer!
I love that era of bikes. But I'm 54 so a little long in the tooth myself.
These bikes really are amazing
Bike lovers are aging slowly. :) I agree about the "bike era". Can check my content when you can. Thanks a lot. Cheers.

After every one of your videos i'm going to Facebook marketplace to see if any of these bikes are for sale near me!

Erinnert mich dran, dass ich noch ne SZR 660 fahren will.
If u can try the vfr 750 RC36 (I or II). In my opinion, best Honda ever built (had 3 off them and regret sold them 😢)
There is a Video on it on This Channel it’s a brillant bike ☺️

Comfortable and quite fast.
What are the pants called you're wearing! I love the styling might get a pair myself

I am actually very curious about the gpz I hope I get to ride it one day and maybe make a comparison between the two

*actually afford*
*describes it needs full engine rebuild*
I don't think those 2 are compatible
