I'm a South Korea who doesn't hate Japan.
I just dislike Japanese who are ignorant of their history.
And it just happens its most of them.
    Just blame the government right?
Let me rephrase, I just dislike Japanese who CHOOSE to stay ignorant of their history.
Look at Germans. Even a small kid knows what happened in WW2. Cause their parents/teachers/government teach them.
    They can't avoid it.
Japanese people really need to take off their "good people/victim" facade, and start talking about the atrocities that happened.
Stop avoiding the topic because it is uncomfortable.
Firms that used forced labor needs to pay.
Temples glorifying war criminals needs to be condemned.
Politicians who try to fabricate history needs to be retired.
Citizens who choose to stay ignorant needs to be taught one way or another.
Stop hiding under that, "We apologized already! We compensated!" propaganda.
JTBC did a thorough investigation into the "compensation" Japan gave. It went to supporting firms originating from Japan to gaining a substantial foothold in S.K.
Our last government, corrupt to their bone, settled the "comfort women agreement" with Japan, without actually asking for the victim's opinions. The money is arbitrary. There was no official recognition or apology for the victims.
These are a couple examples of Japanese hypocrisy to regarding historic issues.
Really, Japan should stop whining, because there's hope to heal this divide between the two country.
They just need to show actual effort, and stop posturing.
They could start by opening the exhibition to the comfort women statues again. (Including the one in Germany)
Adding to the history books the parts they left out, or edited.
Making politicians stop visiting temples that glorified war criminals.
Giving ACTUAL compensation and apologies to people who were treated inhumanely during their occupation.
Controlling their right-wing media. They are way overboard with their wild, inaccurate accusations. (Moon is from North Korea?)
Actually holding up GSOMIA. Leaving information out shouldn't be an option.
Stop using Korean companies to do Japan's dirty work. (POSCO)
Just stop with Dokdo. It is claimed by South Korea. End of story.
Obviously stop with the stupid trade war it began by cutting off key materials to our IT industry. (Stop plotting if at all possible too. Apparently Japanese firms were told to stock up on LED beforehand, so their firms would be less affected when trade war began. LG was the only S.Korean firm that found it suspicious at the time.)
And just generally increase historical awareness in the general populace.
(There's the internet, all of the Japanese can learn about WW2 in detail if they choose to. A lack of historical knowledge isn't something that can be blamed alone on the government in this digital age. Stop avoiding the topic.)
Those are off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more examples.
It should be a difficult process, but it is something that needs to be done, and should have been done, a long time ago.
Again, I don't hate Japan. My grandfather, unsurprisingly, dislikes Japan. He should, he was born in a period that witnessed all the devastation of Japanese occupation, and the Korean war. However, he taught me, don't judge people by their country's past.
I guess that's because my grandfather is a reasonable person. Korean and Japanese are both people, different nations sure, but still people. In his view, as long as the two nationalities stay respectful to each other and treat each other with kindness, there is no reason for hostility that opens up old wounds. He is too hurt to be favorable, but he isn't so fixed on condemning them forever.
So don't be afraid of South Korea. "Old people" like my grandfather didn't teach me to hate Japan. Our country is a proud republic. We have a literate, educated population. We aren't brainwashed like many Japanese media think we are.
Hell, we overthrew our last corrupt government pretty peacefully with the power of candles!
Boycotting isn't encouraged by our government, it is a grass roots movement to counter the economic fire by Japanese Gov.
See reason, and start a polite dialogue or make silent but meaningful amends. South Koreans will notice. There are a hell of a lot of educated people in today's age. I don't see why stupid politicians must stand in the way for finding peace.

Umm that’s some shit work you made.. honestly I gotta agree that most of younger generation don’t know anything about history. However, Korea is even worse I mean you guys learn all these fake history that governments made you learn and think that what you’ve learnt is 100% correct..
Honestly what you are saying totally doesn’t make sense at all. There is a proper reason why Japan removed Korea from the whitelist and its because of the president moon.
Japanese do not do anything like that with their emotion. It’s just that putting Korea on whitelist is a threat for all of us.

That flag is a war criminal flag used by Japan during World War II, symbolizing Japanese militarism. It is currently used as a weapon of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force and the Maritime Self-Defense Force. It was first used as an army arm of the Japanese Empire in 1870. It symbolizes Japanese militarism and imperialism, especially as it is used as a military flag in the army and navy when Japan invades Asian countries, such as the Pacific War.
In short, it has the same meaning as the Nazi military's Hakenkreuz. I don't think he admits his mistake because he still uses it today.

@Ken narville The fact that you think that way means the Japanese rightists have already won. All you did with your comment is help them. When a Japanese person acknowledges their past, you must help them! If you don't try, things will never change. Even the the hardest rocks can be cracked by water. The truth will always fall through. People like Emperor Akihito and Miyazaki have acknowledged Japan's role in the war. Don't attack Japanese people who are smart. All that will happen is you will make them fall back to their denial and victim complex. All help is welcome, and we must stand together. Because the people who suffer from Japan's lies the most are not us - but the Japanese. They uphold an empty pride and nonexistent honor, and OP has realized that. Why not talk about South Korea's anti-japan? Do you think Japanese hate Koreans for no reason?
When Japan lost the war, Korea had 10 trillion yen of Japanese assets (infrastructure, etc.). Koreans say, "The Japanese invaded Korea and did terrible things!", But Japan had invested 10 trillion yen in Korea. Koreans are still using that asset.
When Japan ruled Korea, the school enrollment rate of Korean children rose from 5% to more than 30%. Koreans say, "The Japanese robbed the Korean language!", But they couldn't read or write Korean in the first place, so the Japanese taught both Korean and Japanese.
Even after the war, Japan made a huge investment in South Korea and developed South Korea.
The Korean side said, "There are Koreans who have been bothered by some Japanese during the war." Therefore, in 1965, Japan gave South Korea $ 300 million free and $ 200 million for a fee.
At that time, Japan government said, "I want to give money directly to the individual Koreans who suffered damage," but the Korean government refused to do so, saying, "We Korean government will pay the individual Koreans directly." Decades later, the Korean government said, "Pay money because the money has not been given to individual Koreans!"
The Korean government had not informed the Korean people that it had received money from Japan
Japan has been caring for and supporting South Korea. Despite this, South Korea still unilaterally makes Japan a bad guy. Do you think Japan will like Korea?

There are so many Zainichi Koreans who want to move back to Korea but can't because the Korean government makes it hard for them to obtain Korean citizenship.
So stop taking this to the international stage. It's better for Korea if Zainichi Koreans come back to Korea. It will be good for Korea's economy and demographics.

I’m korean. And i will summarize why korea hates japan. In 1860,Japan is gradually increasing joseon(south korea now)as Japan-korea Treaty og 1876 abd Russo-japanese war and threatened South Korea has become a colony of japan. And indenpendence activisits in korea did a lot of independence movements to regain their country. And march 1st.Many people gathered in the city to do the independence movement. They started shouting “Long live korea!”on the street. And while the japanese showed up and threatened them with huns, they didn’t give up in at all.At that time, a japanese soldier shot and killed citizens and become devastated.A lot of people died, and not many survived. Many people in japan tortured independence activitists, saying they would never let them again. Not a few people died while being tortured. As the independence movement become quieter, one day when Japan was also spending its usual days whu ease, an independence acitivist named Ahn- jung-guen shot a man named Ito Hirobumi at harbin on 1909, october 26.This is no different from what it means to revive the independence movement. And on 1910, August 2 the Republic ig korea eventually pushed ahead with the signing, ending the korean-style civilization invasion for japan. When everyone was pressed, there was a man somewhere who was preparing for the independence movement. His name is Kim-gu.He sent people to many countries for the independence movement. Then, during the war, the united states dropped a nuclear warhead on japan and announced that japan would surrender. As such, the U.S scraps Japanese colonical era and creates liberation Day.The date us August 15.In 1945.

I am not siding with the North I am just saying we shouldn't be American Dogs so easily without facing the basic truths.
None of this would have happened if Japan didn't colonize Korea not to mention the treatment of Zainichi Koreans in Japan having their citizenship taken away and all the harsh racism on generations of Koreans who have never been in Korea. This gave North Korea the chance to support them when their own country didn't. Japan should teach the right history and we should learn both sides not just what is fed to us.

I dont agree the way they rally against Koreans in Japan.
But I dont like the fact that Koreans in Japan were or are the ones who had been or "is" sending money and supporting North Korean gov. which kidnapped innocent Japanese citizens, some say more than 100 people, to their land...
Again, I do not support discrimination against anyone, but there may be reasons why people act like that...

Koreans did not invade japan 💀 you lot love to deny and make excuses. First you say yayoi aren’t Korean now this. They are descended from maybe similar backgrounds but Koreans were already existing and were not yayoi’s direct ancestor. By your logic all of Asia comes from the same ancestor.

Since the elementary school student, Koreans are doing "anti-Japanese education" thoroughly to hate Japan in school education.
By the way, there is no educational curriculum in Japan that dislikes Korea.
Korea has curriculum which hates Japan from the elementary school all the time.

Learn more about 731 unit in Japan and their Maruta experiments, how they dried, skinned, burned and chopped off limbs from living humans, koreans and chinses. No need to even mention the invasion and Korean females forced to serve as sex slaves. When they get pregnant, their wombs were taken out, literally. If there was any hate speech going on, it would make more sense it if was koreans against japan, not vise versa. Plz learn before you start talkin, no need to show off your foolishness. Thank you

I think this wasn’t cool for Japanese people to do this kind of protects. It’s hateful and very disrespectful. But Korea is also very bad. They keep bringing up about japan’s War crime even though japan apologized for so many times and even donated so much money each year to Korea. Korean people, tv, and their government always criticized Japan. And when Japan got enough of hate from Korean people and decided to take a distant, again Korea is mad. What do you want Korea? Didn’t u hate japan so much and want nothing to do with them?? Who wants to deal and do business with someone who keep blaming about the same thing over and over again and criticize constantly?? If I were Japanese , I also don’t want to do any business with Korea anymore. Japan went through at lot as well... Korea is not only place in the world that people got killed during the war.. and indeed Korea also killed many people during the war as well. And japan got two atomic bombs from US and it’s the only country who got atomic bombs but japan is not constantly spreading the hates toward US. Instead, they tried to learn from the past and trying hard to have better relationships with countries they fought with in the past. I lived in japan in the past and when I was in japan, Japanese people loved Korea due to Korean artist, dramas etc. I remember many of my Japanese friends even wanted to go to Korea and big fan of Korean cultures that time. But it all started changing once Korean government started criticizing japan and Korean people started doing protects for japan’s war crimes etc... when Korean do these kind of things, Japanese tv shows those Korean protects and hate speeches about japan etc... so it alerts Japanese people and of course they will view the Korea different ways. If Korea wants to grow as an country, move on and try to focus on current issues. Korea is the one actually spreading the hate.

    • @gwangseopshin
      @gwangseopshin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

you know why Koreans bring it up? because the Japanese government fail to teach the young generation of their history about their war crimes and horrific deeds done in the name of imperialism. If they really apologized instead of shutting up the issue, they would have followed the footsteps of Germany- teaching the younger generation of the facts and accurate history so that this act may never happen again. Instead they censure up history, literally most younger japanese citizens dont know shit about their history

I love when Japanese right wing apologists defend Japan when they are in the wrong. Japan “apologized” and next thing you know they are celebrating their war heroes. The money they sent went to previously japan-owned companies. They accuse Koreans of committing conspiracies whenever something happens. Did you know they said ABE’S killerWas actually korean and tried to blame us for it?
