    You can't blame them. There has been a rash of foreign migration into Japan over the years. It's their country, and they should be allowed to determine their own immigration policy.

      Do you even know what the fuck you are talking about? Immigration is tightly controlled in Japan, more so than in any other industrialized country. I agree with you they have every right to determine their own immigration policy. But to claim there has been a slew of immigrants pouring into the country not only irresponsible but outright wrong.

    Obviously the problem all comes down to economics. If people in Japan believe jobs are being "stolen" by foreigners, it's because there aren't enough jobs in the first place. But the source of this problem isn't foreigners, it's the government itself. They won't lift a finger to help anyone other than wealthy to create startups, otherwise regular folks could easily start their own businesses and there'd be as many jobs as there is demand for them.

    Japan is a very homogenous society and it is very difficult for a foreigner to become a Japanese citizen. However they have much less terrorism than other countries. My experience in living in Japan is that almost everyone is polite and friendly face to face. I have not noticed racism overtly. I think it depends a lot on the attitude of the foreigner and how they interact with a Japanese person.

    Multiculturalism does work. It just takes immigrant to respect the land and existing culture they move into to. Not all cultures are compatible and sensible immigration needs to take place. Not racism, all humans are human but their cultural ideologies can clash. Japan has worked very hard to make it the country it is. Why should they put up with shit.

    • @SkyHize
      @SkyHize 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mark Lowe That's true but i think if immigrants integrate in their new country i'm sure it would be a lot better. I'm not saying they should throw away all their culture but it's good to understand that if your culture is not compatible, you cannot stay the same.

    • @marklowe7431
      @marklowe7431 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Wang You missed my point. That is that multiculturalism isn't the issue. It's having the cultures compatible. In Australia it works with the exception of having one culture come to the country and want to overtake it with it's violence and hate.
      When we discuss Asia it's a very different story. When Asian people immigrate to Australia there's a sensitivity to being racist against Asians. That's because Australians are built from diverse immigration and racism is highly offensive. Japan, China and Korea not so much and so the preservation of indigenous culture is far more sensitive. Malaysia/Singapore an exception. Some Australians see this as very hypocritical given foreigners to say Japan are treated like second rate humans in many cases.
      The European situation is different again. It's more like Australia. Many cultures all work. It's really just a segment of one particular religion/ideology that's completely evil.
      In terms of Japan. If I moved there to live I would expect to learn the local culture. Learn to speak Japanese fluently and do my best to learn the local customs in respect to the Japanese people. Same goes for moving to Korea or China.

If they think about "uniting" and "saving Asia" again from so called foreigners, we will turn our swords against you; united once again against a single common enemy. I fear no oppressor who will take away my rights because my previous generations once fought for our future so it will only be natural for us to do so again in my generation.

    Forced multiculturalism doesn’t work, if Europe is an example. When immigrants move into a population and the State intervenes by segregating where they ought to be and settle into, that does a lot to divide a residing population into people groups. The problem really is increasingly overarching government, reallocating funds through enforced taxation. One reason a population would want to see immigrants settle in is to spur economic production and wealth creation. That’s a natural reason, down to the individual, in desiring to move to some location in the first place where prospects of living their life are ideal to their own interests. If you have no criminal history and are not an advocate of preemptive physical force or fraud, then it’s hard to suggest why peaceful people can’t move nor interact as they please.
    Granted, if a local community of consenting individuals decide to setup an effective commune, then any stipulations made thereof are constructed by individuals whom are akin to being actual shareholders of an estate, whom all presiding voluntarily agree to abide by a single contract. Liechtenstein, a micro-nation in Europe, fits this kind of description way more than less.
    Still, appreciating culture respectively ought to be divided from appreciating persons, even if many persons are of a like-mind to a degree. One still either believes in the sovereignty of the individual, or doesn’t. That is because actual multiculturalism where it happens, without much or any government intervention getting in the way of things, is normal. People in human history have always been migrants from one location to another. Ethnic groups do form at times, yes, as people also shift and disperse and reform in populations throughout time. What’s normal as a process is to see both in occurrence.
    State enforced multiculturalism on the other hand is never genuine: Similarly as well to it is that State-nationalism is not representative of a local people group or people groups either. Nation-states in and of themselves are not at all nations of actual people. Nation states are governments. Human history has always shown that government itself has always been prone to corruption one way or another due to it being a legal monopoly on force, without other arbitration services to freely compete with a presumed legal monopoly within a given society. Understandably residential persons of a homogenous temperament would want a preservation of standards and rules within their given and immediate community. However history would beg to differ in that government and electing government officials as rulers over men within a given territory is not a way to preserve that; not if government seizes property for “a greater good”, rather than it acknowledging a spontaneous system of private property rights. Electing or referring to the services of reputable judges, who rule over affairs of people and not over people themselves, is in positive contrasts to that. Politicians as rulers over people is not anyway to improve peacefully abided standards within a residency, that is if a government fails to provide arbitration services outright - to Japan’s credit, tort law and local courts do a lot of good in settling interfamily and neighborhood disputes; however government where it comes to Yakuza influence, or public spending into debt through infrastructure projects, are failures related to certain corruption in the election of public officials otherwise. One can ascribe to whatever system of rules ultimately in voluntary fashion, without resorting to the election of rulers to be outright above themselves and above others in an authoritarian fashion.

    If the influx of migrates was not so large and increasing all the time, people might be more accepting. People are feeling very threatened. It doesn't help that no discussion or validation of feelings or concerns are given. Instead people are just shouted at, told they are wrong and called and labelled Nazi etc. It doesn't help. All that is happening is people are being pushed into the extreme of both camps.
