Knowth: one of the great treasures of Ireland

Knowth is a giant passage-mound complex located in Ireland's Boyne Valley. It is part of the Brú na Bóinne complex which includes Newgrange and Dowth. Excavations began at Knowth in 1962 and continued for 40 years. Archaeological investigation of the site revealed at least 10 distinct phases of activity from the Early Neolithic right down to late Medieval times. Hundreds of cremated burials were found in the chambers of the mounds. The main mound, said to be the burial place of an ancient goddess called Buí, is surrounded by 127 giant kerb stones (of which 124 survive). Ninety of these are decorated with megalithic art. It is truly one of the wonders of ancient Ireland and a global archaeological treasure.

Beautiful shots Antony. You are a pretty good pilot.
I could feel the atmosphere of the site, even though the ether.
It seemed to call to me from afar.
I would love to shoot an episode for my channel there, but I don't know how the folks in charge would feel about giving me exclusive access for a couple of hours.
Probably have to wait until the spring though due to the current situation.
