  • There are more reasons why you WOULDN'T buy this than there are reasons that you would.
    But despite the fact it costs more than the regular 500e, has less EV driving range, is a bit more annoying in a lot of situations, and has more badges than a retired general... the Abarth 500e is one of the most sensationally silly EVs I've driven.
    It is tiny and powerful, fast and fun, but also heavily compromised as a daily driver. Even so, I've run through all the official info you need to know, including range, efficiency, pricing and specs, power outputs, driving manners and interior design and practicality.
    Tell me if you agree with my thoughts in the comments!

    Nice one, not for me. It did however remind me of my first of about 20 business trips to Italy when a local senior rep took me for a drive that went past the HQ of FIAT. He then asked me if I knew what the locals refer the brand name too.
    Fix It Another Time.
    Sums Italians up well. I’m also married to one. 😂

      I heard also of "Fix It Again Tony". Germans say "Fehler In Allen Teilen" (failure in all parts).

    Years ago I foolishly bought a Fiat 131 Mirafiore which I drove in New Ireland, PNG. It was a wonderful car to drive, albeit not made for the tropics. I have a friend who owns a 6 year old Fiat 500 (petrol) which is a lot of fun. This is a car I’d buy for complete self indulgence. I won’t, but it’s a special car with true Italian charm. It’s a two seater really, and I love Italy. I’ve just done 1,550km return to SA Riverland from where I live in my Tesla M3 long range. Charging was fine. Sadly this Abarth wouldn’t have made it. The sound it makes (artificially) is pure Abarth and it’d be fun to drive. You got it right, this is truly a car with character. It’d be great fun to own but hard to justify at my place. I want one, but unfortunately want and need don’t coincide. A great review, it’s wonderful to see such an interesting car. Thanks for showing it to us.

    I have an Abarth 595 1.4 manual ...I will never...never !!! buy this electric version. It is a shame what they are doing to this brand....At least they could give us one model with a petrol engine so there would be a proper option for those of us who have really loved this brand for decades.

    This size EV is perfect. It would be great in Rome if about $ 25 000. At $60,000, the Mafia must be importing them.

      @TheMelbournelad 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can get it for 25k from Mafia, if you do them and drive something for them to a friend

      This is were car manufacturers have got it wrong, little EV,s make sense, as town runabouts . Not as your main car for touring I couldn't stand having to recharge on a trip.

    A very cute car, but I am not a EV person. If I were single it would be a great city car, but not with transporting my taller family members. It's a pity you didn't get the yellow one like in the thumbnail. I also like the fake engine sound.

    AUD$60k? Tell’em they’re dreamin’. I don’t see the point over a standard 500e. It’s an urban only commuter. It presents as the sort of car that you’d want to take for a Sunday morning backroad blast, except mine is 300km loop! Doh!
    Nah, if you want a cheap to run “toy” you could buy an MX5 and pocket some change. You’d have to be nuts to buy this.

    I'm guessing Fiat will sell less than 100 per year of this car and take it off the market in less than 2 years.
    Not suited to the market in Oz.
