Before you go and buy any Fiat car ask the salesman about the warranty, specifically the warranty if a problem occurs with a wiring loom. It states in their warranty that wiring looms are not covered. I knew about this, being an auto electrician, but when my daughter wanted a Fiat 500 I went with her and asked about the “comprehensive 3 year warranty”. When he finished telling me how good it was I asked about the wiring looms to which he said “ah, we don’t cover wiring looms” and then showed me it was on the warranty details.
    Just a little heads up.

Let me warn Abarth buyers the reason for this. The USB port fries and then you have a contant battery drain. I have to disconnect the battery if im not driving every day which is a pain because they only have one lock on the drivers side and the bonnet release is on the passenger side. God help me if this lock ever breaks because there is no other way into the car!

I have heard EV's around town making a humming/ufo type noise. I would prefer the engine sound. But all EV's should make a sound around town so that you know they are coming.
Also, great colour, the current trend for greys and dull metallics is terrible, put me off getting a new car for the time being.

AMSTERDAM, July 26 (Reuters) - One person died and several others were hurt when a fire broke out on a cargo ship carrying cars off the northern tip of Netherlands, forcing several crew members to jump overboard, the Dutch coastguard said on Wednesday.
The Panama-registered Fremantle Highway was transporting 2,857 cars from Germany to Egypt, 25 of them electric.

Looks at size and color of that EV and without looking it up, know in my gut that we'll sadly never get that in the US since not enough people here buy small cars to be profitable. Also, too many people buy larger cars than they need and the profit margins are usually correlated to the size of the vehicle.

@@janlojko5228 Again, there has never been the slightest evidence that lack of engine noise has made EV's more dangerous to pedestrians. It could well be that that EV drivers are aware their cars are quiet in car park situations and take extra care (as opposed to assuming you can be heard and the peasants will get out of the way) and anything over about 18mph (30kph) tire noise drowns out engines anyway.

First of all you have to see these in the flesh before you just assume it’s another breathed on Fiat 500 variant. It has a much more premium feel to it over the previous model. The doors for example close with a satisfying clunk rather like a Mercedes. In comparison with MG, forget it, there is no comparison. This is way better looking. Way better looking than the awful Mini, Honda E, BMW i3, this just oozes Italian style. You either get it or you don’t.

Sorry but this is a cute Fiat 500 it is NOT a hot hatch. Yes it is expensive but Fiat are very good at overcharging their customers. If you want a real hot hatch buy an MG4 X-power if your budget I'd a tiny bit bigger buy a Volvo EX30 Performance. As for this Abarth.... the ICE is 180bhp for £28,000 so as a minimum Fiat could have put a 200bhp electric motor in. Instead of just using the exact unit from its Jeep, Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall parts bin.
