I've had that darn issue with my H3 for over a year now. Today I was stuck with it not starting and ran into your video and tried it and it started right a way. Life saver.
OMG you saved me towing money as this was the 2nd time my hummer h3 left me stranded at a gas station where as the first time I thought it was a fluke but then it did it again & I could tell it was not getting fuel & before I saw ur video the video be4 said had to wait 10min & here I’m sitting in front of the gas pumps that the gas station was telling me I needed to get it towed away & I came across ur video & bango it started so I truly want to thank you as you saved me money I don’t really have to play with on towing my vehicles thumbs up buddy
Just bought an H3 and couldn't start it the next day. Started panicking that I might have bought a paperweight until I found your video. Flicked my wrist and the H3 fired up. Haven't had problems since. My theft light had come on the dash, so I think it might have something to do with locking it remotely with the key fob, then later trying to manually unlock with the key. It's a security feature GM installed--you have to lock/unlock in the same manner. So when I got in, alarm beeping, tried turning the ignition, it wouldn't turn. Really glad I learned about that feature and found your video to help me get passed it. Thanks for your post!
Many people are having this trouble. I don't know why GM wont do something about it. Luckily my texnique is working. Maybe the sensor in the ignition switch is defective when held down too long. But what do I know, I'm no engineer.
Thanks buddy. My Girlfriend has A 2007 and she has been dealing with this problem for over a year 🙄 ugh. We tried this method so far so good 👍. YOUR AWESOME
I too have been having this problem for a while. The ten minute wait usually works along with not locking the H3. Neither worked the last 2 days and I saw your video, gave it a try and sure enough it started! Thanks. Has any one started a recall complaint group?
You don't know how many times TH-camrs have helped me while stranded with my 2006 H3. Now this happened today saying, "Lock 2." Red car with red light. It's 90 degrees out & I'm waiting to see if the 10 min timer will work. If not I'll try this. Thanks for posting.
saved me a trip going to pick up my gf thank you sir very helpful make sure to put it in the gear before it turns on before the flick if your flick from the beginning it wont work
Are you saying to do this all the time, or only when it doesn't start? I have been dealing with this a long time with my 2007 h3 & my mechanic has not been able to solve the problem ... sometimes it happens 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes I can go 2 months without it ever happening! It really is a pain in the ass! Also hate the leaky sunroof that needs the leak lines to be blown out 3x's a year ... love the look of the vehicle, but has too many problems!
Make sure to replace the passlock ignition sensor it usually goes bad then relearn the key (30 min process) Also be sure to check that the three wires going to the sensor are not loose, you can open the plastic piece and tighten the connection so its a tight fit with the sensor
@@qwefsad Just search Hummer H3 passlock ignition fix. It's under the steering wheel on the side. You remove two screws and disconnect the wire and replace the sensor. Very easy to replace. Also you can search for bypass security module. Its located on the passenger side, on the floor, right hand side where the feet go. You can solder a module that will bypass the security so your hummer will start everytime, but we warned this will allow any key to crank the engine.
Was working, then it's gone insane again. I disconnected the battery for about a minute and let the computer reset and it's working again but I think I will replace the passlock as it is faulty! GM should really replace this at no cost!!
I'm going on almost a year and its been cranking every time I needed it to. I see a lot of people advising to take the steering column apart but unless your pretty mechanically inclined I wouldn't advise that. Try my technique and see what happens. If and when it works for you send me any donation to po box 216 Galveston Tx 77553 and help out an old retired guy. Write me,let me know how you come out. Happy truckin. Bless y’all. Thx.
That technique probably not related to random no start issues. This is what’s happening, it’s all about oxidation & carbon buildup on the ignition switch’s electrical plug more frequent in cold & or humidity. Solved by spraying the male and female part of plug with electrical cleaner like CRC brand. Take the lower steering column plastic half cover off by it’s 3 screws work cover down and out. On the left side of the metal key housing cylinder you see the dark round plastic ignition switch’s, locate its electrical plug on far side. Unplug the sometimes green male plug with electronic cleaner as well as female part (may have to bend the red spray tube to shoot spray back into female receptacle). Problem solved, no parts need replaced. Repeat every 5 years.
Funny my hummer would crank and not turn over. I was on Google trying to find some answers. I came across your video. I tried what you did and it started up
Someone told me its the Anti-Theft it does that because if the key isn't right it thinks its being tampered with. So the anti-theft kicks on but who knows that's what a mechanic told me.
Hello , Marty , I have problem with my key H3 - since 1 hour I was driving.. and now at home doesn’t move out - the key 🔑 is just blocked.. could you give me advice ? Thank you 🙏🏻
And if u dont wait the full 10 minutes u have to wait another 10 minute i hate that they should do a recall. I love my hummer but it sucks if your on your way to work and your already running late to have to wait another 10 minutes
It is a GM product , & they have ignition switch flaws & in most cases tumbler problems (where the key goes). "Turning fast, slow, tap here & tap there & count to 4 & start" all these will not fix it & only extend the agony. Replace the the tumbler & switch & put it behind you.

It works. I got stuck at a gas station, looked it up to find this video. Thank you.
Thanks a lot brother...it worked for me..I was really tensed when my Hummer didn't start..thanks once again...GOD BLESS YOU bro
Man...You are the best..I've been dealing with this for so long...gotta keep waiting 10 minutes, saw your video tried it and it instantly worked

Thanks for this! Started trying this today. After 8 successful tries, it's still working. I might actually enjoy driving my H3 again. Cheers!
My H3 was doing that tonight, tried what you suggested and it works like a charm - thanks!!

Definitely going to be turning mine on like that! I hate having to wait 10 minutes every other day.
This worked out for me tonight happens usually about once a month but the flick bypassed everything thanks for your help now I won't be late to work 🙂
Tell me about it man🤣🤣🤣one time I kept locking it and had to wait at the gas station for an hour 😆
Dude you just saved me a bunch of money. You are the man thank you!

Ok so at the 10 min mark I tried your method & it worked. Thank God! 🙌
Currently having this problem now. I’m going to try your method for a few weeks and I’ll let you know! Thank you!

I use it all the time because that’s what keeps it from going into pass guard and having to wait 10 min.
I do mine everytime.

100% working.. You save my 10 minutes buddy..
The ten minutes is with the key in the cilinder ? Or out
Either or. The key will usually not come loose when it locks anyway.

What fault does it have and what causes it? mine starts fine but i'll remember it just in case

Didn't work for me now what to do
Thanks alot sir your a life saver...
Holy cr*p that worked!!! Thank you!!!!!
For it to stop working u have to keep your key in the ignition... DONT TAKE THE KEY OUT ONCE U TURN IT OFF THE ENGINE
Thank you so much. Worked on my h2
Is working okay
Thanks
Mine only does it when I am parked in the sun. I have never had it happen in the shade.
Thanks for the tip
OMG!! AWESOME THANKS VERY MUCH WORKS FOR ME GIVING YOU A LIKE
Is there any way to just remove/bypass that P.O.S. mine WILL NOT STOP no matter what i do about to use this car for target practice

Let it sit for exactly 10 minutes with the key out. After ten minutes just flick the key like the video. Good luck.
This really working.
I think that’s how it designed. You don’t have to hold it until it starts, like in older vehicles.
Terrence Manuelito

It works in less than a fucken minute 😎, thank you so much broe !!
Glad I could help. Its been working great for me so far.
Get an aftermarket remote starter
Had one on for 2 years and never hasn’t started while using remote.
If using the key regularly sometimes won’t start
I tried that and it didn't work. I had it taken off and its been cranking every time using this technique I discovered.
Thank bro it worked
Thank u
I tried your method but it didnt work for my 08 alpha. I swapped out the sensor. Problem solved.
What sensor are you talking about
Me too, swapped sensor and all is good now
@@nanogear164 what sensor?
Nii Narku please see this video. It explain the solution and the sensor number th-cam.com/video/_JIIc-pB0DE/w-d-xo.html
My keys got stuck when my battery died.
They will do that when the battery is dead...I have always had to give the battery a boost then they will come out.
that's normal when the battery is not giving enough power normaly at 5 volt (Im not an expert but is what a have seen in my hummer h3 2006)
Just had that problem cost me 300 dol to have it fix new sensor
Thanks
Ya ya it works thanks sir😁😁😁😁
Yeah it just worked
