Yup the selector was replaced and the clear coat on these guitars crack semi regularly. Confirmed with other owners and former Washburn Custom Shop builders
Im glad youve got one of ur dream guitars, I recently picked up an 06 dime o flame and its blown me away (even though it pales in comparsion to this dimebolt xd)
Thanks! Hey there's nothing wrong with that dime o flame. Sure it might not have some of the higher end appointments, but dime played a lot of Korean guitars in the Damageplan days. At the end of the day you still have a dime guitar and are carrying the legacy.
thanks bro, i built my own ML out of factory second parts but the routing of the pickup cavitys was way off alignment so the guitar just doesnt hold tune well.. if you have a dean ml or washburn etc that you want to giveaway please kindly consider me, i would pay shipping lol, love your channel dude and you are great!!@@EricMorettin
Was hoping it was the silver bevel Stealth, but...this is also the shit. Congrats, and kudos to that dude's packing job. It's the only way these will arrive in the condition they left.
Long live the man himself. The legend of legends. One of my absolute favorite guitarists. That belongs somewhere in a glass case or a museum or something. What a beauty!!!!!! 🤟🔥🔥
@@EricMorettin Hi man, i got a Dean Razorback, the scale is 24,75, i want to put a Baritone short scale guitar string, do you think is ok? O i have to buy a baritone guitar to tune so down the tuning?
@@isolirionband7300 you can put baritone strings on and tune down just fine. I ran 13-56/62 and 14-68 in B standard for years on 24.75" scale guitars and it was great.
Congrats my man! I am literally building a guitar to these exact specs from scratch with all top of the line components because I can’t justify buying a D3 right now. I’ll post a vid when the guitar is complete for all the dime nerds. I’m using left over wood in my shop for the guitar so it’s African Sapele body with neck through 5 piece walnut/maple, FU-tone floyd & nut, rosewood fretboard that I just finished pressing in the frets. Exact shape and V neck carve of the D3!
My man knows how to play the clicklbait game!😉Congrats matey, I'd be so scared to touch a guitar that rare with 0 surface scratches, all of mine need some light scratches for me to feel comfortable playing them haha. That thing is gleaming!
Thanks for clicking bud 😏 thanks for the kind words! It has a couple scuffs here and there which is totally fine since this is going to be played. I hear you on having some scratches on your guitar tho!
@@EricMorettin man your a lucky guy. I wish I had the money for a just any Dime guitar. Even the import models are extremely expensive over here in Germany. things like the Razorback Vs are like 1500+ and the old Washburn Vs that were like 400$ new are at around 800 to 1000 bucks....
I'm sooo jealous dude, absolutely stunning guitar, I wish more washburns popped up in the UK and in reasonable pricings too, how much did you need to throw for it?
HI ERIC i bought an ibanez prestige rg 1527 7 string guitar for $1100 canadian did i get a deal i dont know what year it is but its in mint condition i cant find much info on it thanx ERIC Scott
What are the weights on these D3s roughly (I assume they vary just like Les Pauls). The Bolt and Dimeslime are the big 2 iconic finishes for sure, and that thing's pristine.
I'm still a Razorback guy. The Dime-slime, Bee, and Explosion are the only guitars I would like with that headstock. I can't stand those headstocks, lol. I know, I know...
Was it refinished? It looks kinda different compared to the USA Dimebolts I’ve seen. Just curious. Congrats either way. I had a USA D3 Blackjack but regretfully sold it.
@EricMorettin No doubt, that's why I said some semblance, at least with an actual Dime guitar, he'll inch a little closer. Zak's tone is soft and lacks that crunch, I saw Pantera live last summer, and he doesn't come close.
@@jaydoode15 I saw them twice and they sounded great both times. Keep in mind Dime and Zakk are two different players at the end of the day. Also, when you're a professional musician, gear is a tool to help you do your job better in some way. So if Zakk wasn't 100% playing Dime's rig (or using Dime's tools for the job), then he would have to use tools/gear that he feels at home with to do the best job he can do.
@EricMorettin I agree but if you're playing as Pantera you might as well try and get as close as possible to Pantera's sound. I'm sure Zak has no problem ripping it on a dimebolt compared to what he plays now. Charlie Benante also doesn't sound close to Vinnie, opting to stick with thick and darker sounding Paiste cymbals instead of the super bright AAX's that Vinnie was known for rocking, snare didn't sound close either, lacked that echo-ey reverb that Vinnie was known for during the really heavy live bits. Both Dime and Vinnie's choice of gear were integral to their sound. Mind you, I saw Pantera in a shitty sounding venue so it wasn't their fault the sound sucked.
Yeah you're lucky you have friends that you can get good deals off of. The same D3 cost me 1399.00 plus tax in 2000 and came with a hardshell case. My house was broken into about 13 years ago now and everything that mattered was stolen.....including this guitar. Ill never be able to own one again. Not with the way the prices are these days.
Hey eric, what do you know about the dean from hells having different colored bolts? I.e. most are bright white but occasionally you see them yellowish (for example pustulus from gwars dean from hell, 2nd gen import). I asked pustulus and he said he had no idea why his was more yellow. Any information you have and especially how to make my bolts yellow is appreciated.
Hi Eric. Glad you’re enjoying the Dime , and I know you’re going to play the arse off it. Cheers man 🤘🏼
I love that guitar and your video content is quality 🤘
Thank you!
@@EricMorettin ive just recently brought on ebay what i think is a 2014 dean dime slime because of you and your videos.

Been there. Dumped mine in 2010 but kept my slime and cross. My bolt had cracks in the clear at the neck joint.
Looks like the selector switch was replaced on yours.

You look so chuffed to have the guitar!! It's stellar looking! always dug the updated Lightning Bolt graphic! Enjoy! 🤘
