Do you think a les paul has any good clean sound? (Well, aside from half volume and half tone on the neck pickup, you can get a little bit of jazzy sound, but a dead pickup is almost better for that than a live one).
Got mine back from my luthier today ,leveled frets ,adjusted bridge and tail piece set intonation new strings and had to repair neck truss rod access they didn't leave enough room to get tool in to adjust neck . 200 dollars later .Now I'm pleased with how it plays oh yeah... New Gibson pickups installed and bone nut
I talked to the owner last night and he said he would take care of all my problems that I have and make it right. I will let you know when the problem is taken care of. He sounds like a honorable man and I will let you know when the problems are taken for.

They need better marketing for their product! Info on these guitars is poorly scattered , either no info or negative and inaccurate info. Your guitar sounds great here, but what heavy priced rig are you running it through? Again buying one as in ebay there are many NEGATIVES! Many saying you dont receive the guitar that is pictured! Look I want one and like this company's idea , but really its a bit complicated for a low priced guitar.

I bought their 553 semi hollow body last year because down tuning my Ibanez with a Floyd Rose is a pain and looking at getting on of their les pauls the semi hollow is and feels just like the Gibson and was half or more than half the price of Gibson
I am a guitar designer. I am about to have my own guitars made by Shengze. I have designed my guitars to be as simple as a Tele in construction. The body shape will be mine but the construction will be close to a Fender spec. I want a quality instrument with the value in good woods. The idea is like a Tele to be free of ornamentation. With simple plain painted bodies grain issues etc. will not be a problem. Although simple I need stellar fit and finish. The neck must be consistently excellent as far as frets and finish. The hardware and PU's will all be conventional off the shelf and can be modest but not junk.Do you think I can get this? It will be imperative as I would like to 'drop ship' the guitars and as such I can not inspect them.
I got 2 already. Fretwork very average on both, hardware not that good either but, rest pretty pretty good guitars. Finish on them is A+++. I have modded both of mine with Gibby electrics and Kluson and Grover tuners. I have the Rumburst Vintage Standard and a Deluxe LP. Man they are they awesome guitars now.

So everything about those guitars is LIE , also IMHO it far better to get Epi same wood quality real Grover tuners and great pickups, or Vintage JHS or higher priced Harley Benton..... Not to mention Tokai, Burny etc that for sure you can find 2nd hand in great shape for that amount. I have all those guitars and had chance to try this BAD CAT, they are worst + you must change shity pickups...All his people on YT who were supporting BC were well payed or got their guitars for free or for some joke amount of $ so of course they will lie. cheers.

I have an original Badcat Lp with the "gibby" headstock and had to do quite a bit of fret leveling and nut filing to get closer to spec. The only other issue is the bridge has to be jacked extremely high on the low E side. Has this improved with there newer models?

I don't disagree that the handling of this brand has not been very good. I was super excited to support this company when they first started because it seemed like they were doing a cool thing. Important to know that I am not part of this company at all. I liked the guitars. That's the end of my involvement. I don't know the whole Ukrainian story, but none of it surprises me anymore.

Looks and sounds great. I got my Bad Cat LP 6 months ago, and I'm still very happy with it (though the pickups will be replaced by something hotter at some point). Any chance you'll take a look at the new Shengze Supernova-guitars, even though they are perhaps not your style?
I have the same guitar, and it's sounds great. Compare to my Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat,Grestch, and it's a verry nice, and stay tune. I will give a note 9 to 10.
Just a recap on my last comment my guitar mine isn’t like his I guess you have to be a company person. Mine has defective pots and a crack running from the volume pot to the bridge pickup. I contacted them they offered me a new set of knobs and 30.00 and still haven’t sent my case that I paid for. Buyer beware. After I asked for a return label they haven’t returned any of my 4 emails.
Mike, I'm not connected to this company. My only connection is feedback. They send me guitars, I make videos, and give them feedback. I don't think that I receive "special" guitars. Reviews on these guitars in general are pretty good no matter who does them. I would think you would get the same guitar I would. As a matter of fact, people have gotten guitars that I was supposed to get because he needed it to go to a paying customer. So I really believe it's a fair representation of their guitars. Besides that, if it were a special guitar, it would come with better fretwork. :)
Not trying to be offensive, but if you want an objective view of their guitars, you have to have a straw purchaser or 5 buy guitars, see how they are and then re-sell them when you're done to mitigate costs. I've been asked by companies to review tools before (not like you're thinking, not power tools, but obscure hand tools) and I generally won't take anything from them unless they're OK with me purchasing on my own accord (something they couldn't stop in the first place)
Another btw, not poo-pooing the premise. in my lifetime, I've probably spent more than $40k on guitars and banjos, but the reality is that I just want to play. The expensive ones have been nice, but with kids, I can't afford to get them out and chance them getting bashed. Have you opened the control and pickup cavities to check what is underneath? Just wondering if pots and caps are decent... also, I know pickups are normally Epi Probuckers although they don't advertise it due to copyright.

Holy Crap if I turned the gain up that high on my pubes I could make them sound just like that. Play a chord put it on clean with a real amp and check the intonation. I hope the company does well but this review is not telling me anything I need to know before I spend my money
I play chords and songs. Not just canned Presets with the gain on 10 :) But I'll work on it got to wind them first. Ha Ha . I hope U know I'm just playing with U dude? The guitar sounds fine on 10 in all 3 settings
you can put a crap axe thru that processor (Line 6 helix=1200$ ) and it sounds fine. So not a REAL DEMO. I was thinking of getting one to have a decent Chinese in my collection, but i doubt....
You're one of "those people"... Ugh... I play through my Helix out of convenience of recording. It sounds the same through my "old fashion" rigs too. :) My main rig is the Helix, so for me, it's a direct representation of what my guitars will sound like. I will also tell you that many times I play this guitar at my Blues Bar gig. Then I am playing directly through a Fender HotRod Deluxe 40w. Sounds just as you would expect a guitar to sound coming through that old amp. This is a great guitar. I feel like I'm a pretty good guitar player. If I play it. It's probably an okay ax. These are not perfect guitars, but they are great $300 guitars. That's all I'm sayin.
"Those people" are the one's who think you're going to get a better representation of a guitar based on the kind of amplification it's played through. The reality is that, if it's played through one amp and it sounds goods, and then it's played through another amp and it sounds bad....it's probably the amp, not the guitar. I think I'm a pretty good guitar player (hopefully you do also). I have built guitars from blocks of wood.... by hand...acoustic and electric. I've owned, played, and tested, just about every guitar in almost every price range from $100 - $15,000. I've played through every mainstream amp that guitar center sells. Again, if a guitar sounds good through one amp and not the other, it's the amp... A guitar is a guitar is a guitar. For the money, this is a great guitar. Honestly for 2x the price, this is a nice guitar. I would put it in the $500 Epiphone range of sound and play-ability.

I was probably playing through my Line 6 Helix. I don't remember for sure. It would be a PV Panama Amp (5150), then just delay and reverb.

Holy Crap if I turned the gain up that high on my pubes I could make them sound just like that. Play a chord put it on clean with a real amp and check the intonation. I hope the company does well but this review is not telling me anything I need to know before I spend my money

I play chords and songs. Not just canned Presets with the gain on 10 :) But I'll work on it got to wind them first. Ha Ha . I hope U know I'm just playing with U dude? The guitar sounds fine on 10 in all 3 settings

you can put a crap axe thru that processor (Line 6 helix=1200$ ) and it sounds fine. So not a REAL DEMO. I was thinking of getting one to have a decent Chinese in my collection, but i doubt....

I play through my Helix out of convenience of recording. It sounds the same through my "old fashion" rigs too. :)
My main rig is the Helix, so for me, it's a direct representation of what my guitars will sound like. I will also tell you that many times I play this guitar at my Blues Bar gig. Then I am playing directly through a Fender HotRod Deluxe 40w. Sounds just as you would expect a guitar to sound coming through that old amp.
This is a great guitar. I feel like I'm a pretty good guitar player. If I play it. It's probably an okay ax. These are not perfect guitars, but they are great $300 guitars. That's all I'm sayin.

"Those people" are the one's who think you're going to get a better representation of a guitar based on the kind of amplification it's played through.
The reality is that, if it's played through one amp and it sounds goods, and then it's played through another amp and it sounds bad....it's probably the amp, not the guitar. I think I'm a pretty good guitar player (hopefully you do also). I have built guitars from blocks of wood.... by hand...acoustic and electric. I've owned, played, and tested, just about every guitar in almost every price range from $100 - $15,000. I've played through every mainstream amp that guitar center sells. Again, if a guitar sounds good through one amp and not the other, it's the amp... A guitar is a guitar is a guitar.
For the money, this is a great guitar. Honestly for 2x the price, this is a nice guitar. I would put it in the $500 Epiphone range of sound and play-ability.

Bad Cat Amplifiers are made to insanely high standards and second to none in quality...and that thing you call a guitar is a foul beast knockoff, terrible sounding instrument. stack it up with the wall of effects your using and any $100 guitar will sound the same way.
