Another theory about the speaker and button count is that they will re-use the same shell design for other licenses/games to save costs. A departure from the old pocket player titles for sure, so maybe not.
My local store were selling off the arcade1up cocktail cabinets for €150 last year. I couldn't believe my luck to grab one at this price. What a beauty it is too! It makes everything else seem expensive.
As strange as this sounds, I wonder if they are going to put some non-Pacman based games on here (I'm thinking The Tower of Druaga, Rolling Thunder, Galaxian, Galaga, Dragon Buster and Rally-X). I know BandaiNamco had something similar on a Pacman machine through Arcade 1up. It would not surprise me if that were the case
I'd love to see MY ARCADE do a mini 4 player tabletop Pac-Man Battle Royale. 4 controllers set up the same way as the arcade machine, so 4 people could play it leaning over a table with their controls orientated in the correct direction. I would pick one of these up in a heartbeat!
This looks great … wish all the companies in the retrogaming business had the same passion as MyArcade! Thanks for the coverage Jon Excited for next week 👊🏻🕹️😎
I'm really thrilled to see an improved D-Pad. I sincerely hope they include a better screen. The screen and D-Pad are the two critical things keeping me from collecting these things. I bought the Atari 50th My Pocket and was massively disappointed. It collects dust - not fun to play. The screen is a deal breaker on it's own but the D-pad makes it miserable.
The game at 4:20 is REALLY hard to make out. My first thought was Pac-Man Arrangement but I really doubt they'd include that, unfortunately. I see a purple thing next to they yellow thing in the middle (which is most likely Pac-Man himself), which made me think this was Pac-Mania with the purple being Sue, but this doesn't look like any maze in Pac-Mania to me (then again I am much less familiar with the console ports) Edit: After looking up Pac-Mania ports, it seems to match up with the Genesis version, matching with Block Town's blue and grey palette.
From the looks of things, they might actually have the actual arcade roms for once. But it would be a true 10/10 if Ms.Pac-Man is included. That would be freaking awesome lol
That's a nice d-pad. Gold plastic looks nice, but I'm always weary of it. In certain toy collecting communities (most notably in transformers), there's a condition, known as gold plastic syndrome, wherein the plastic used to make the toy degrades pretty quickly and results in a toy that literally crumbles in your hands with minimal force.
@@GenXGrownUp It's pretty tragic. There are a handful of great figures that are pretty much ruined by gold plastic. It can happen with other colors, but gold is the primary offender. What you need to worry about are plastics with some sort of swirly pattern in the coloring. Those tend to be the most unstable, but it can happen to plastic without swirls as well, so it's not always a dead giveaway. The last known case of it with regard to transformers was in 2015, so plastics may have improved, but it might just be that Hasbro told the factories to stop using bad plastic.
What a lovely device! The deep gold color is awsome, nothing more adeguate for Pac-Man The game at 4:20 seems to be Super Pac Man.. Not Sure, image is fuzzy. At 4:47 , yes it seems Pac Land, but is flipped upside down... What game could be with sky down side??
Great video and can’t wait to see what you’re going to share at CES! I have two questions if you are able to ask? 1. When is the revised pocket game station pro coming out? 2. Will the new console with Sega etc take a micro SD card like the GSP. One bonus to ask, can they let you raffle off some of their products for your loyal followers.
aaah. But remember bigger screens will come at a higher price point. So you have to be careful of what the market is as, once again, these aren't anything "new" and could be an easy pass if overpriced.
Considering this is having various games this might be directly a collection of Pac-Man games and it's looking good The game at 4:19 I would say it's a cutscene of super pac-man probably I just think that
Looks interesting...wonder how much it is. I already have PacMan on 3DS (NES version and Game boy download) DS,and PSP don't really need another version....
This is a wild guess but the game at 4:07 could potentially be Pac-Man Arrangement since Bandai Namco used what looked to be standalone ROM of the game, then again I could be wrong Edit: Maybe not, that game doesn’t have a gray bar at the top like that
I've been on the fence about a Pacman Pocket Player Pro for a while. I really wish I knew what this new Pacman device will offer. I also hope this is not like the Pole Position Pocket Player that's starting to feel like vaporware.
The blurry game looks like Elevator Action. Not a Pac-Man game but a fun game requiring two buttons. One for shoot and one for jump. It lines up….Except it’s not even a little bit Pac-Man.
My Arcade should come out with something way bigger, like a big tabletop like Arcade 1up did, something like that would be cool, instead of the same micro players that we always get that aren’t any good……
I need to buy one of these devices for PacMan due to the control issues I have in my other PacMan games. I have the older PacMan Museum on Steam with the unadjustable screen, PacMan on PS4/PS5 and the Namco Museum on the Nintendo Switch and analog sticks are terrible in these games, though tolerable on the latter. I'd like to play PacMan with non-analog controllers or a joystick.
Does anybody know the actual date of the 45th anniversary? I'll have to fire up my Arcade 1Up Pac-Man machine on that day and play some Pac-Man. That graffeiti bezel looks terrible. So does that side panel on the Mighty Player. Maybe they'll come to their senses and change it on the actual products.
I'd love to see Baby Pac-man on one of these. I guess you could do it with those A B buttons but you'd really want shoulder buttons to work the "flippers" i would think
Theres a good vpinmame version of that. To do justice to the ball physics requires a bigger cpu than any of these units have. They could make a nonrealistic version and then people will complain its not arcade accurate. I have a real one, and they are a challenge to maintain, its basically a pinball machine pcb and arcade machine pcb both in the same enclosure. It currently needs a solenoid transistor replacement.
@GenXGrownUp I used the wrong word, I'm just saying there's alot of pac man out there so it needs to be fresh rather than the same compilation we've been seeing for years 👍
@@GenXGrownUp Well it is crap, all of their products are the same everytime, it’s nothing good, I wouldn’t spend my money on their junk, I bought one of the handheld pacman and it was terrible, their micro players are the same as well…..not worth the money……..Period….
@ yeah I know sounds crazy but it really does look like it or somebody there was playing some emulators and forgot to remove the sd card when they took the pic or even just wishful vision Ps could you just for the record when you go the event next week ask them what the pics of the games shown on the device were. thanks
Another theory about the speaker and button count is that they will re-use the same shell design for other licenses/games to save costs. A departure from the old pocket player titles for sure, so maybe not.
Ah, you may very well be onto something. The second grille may just be for symmetry and re-usability.
Congrats on making it to the news on ABC this morning. Gen X rules!!!
My local store were selling off the arcade1up cocktail cabinets for €150 last year.
I couldn't believe my luck to grab one at this price. What a beauty it is too!
It makes everything else seem expensive.
Waiting for the day when there is a handheld version for Donkey Kong Jr.
Yeah, I know. At this rate, Nintendo will have to do it themselves since they don't seem very keen to license out their IP any longer.
I gotta say, this looks gorgeous. New D Pad too.
Pac-Mania took advantage of the Stereo. I recently did a QuickPlay video and it has an interesting stereo/quasi surround sound for the play.
There ya go - good to know, SBR. Thanks!
My Dream would be a two screen pocket player of Digital versions of Mr. & Mrs. PacMan and Baby PacMan by Midway.
Baby Pac-Man and that NDS DigDug game that played like DigDug 1 and 2 combined. Lol
Looks like a significant improvement over previous Pocket Players :-) Keep up the awesome work Jon!
The blurry game you could figure out looks like Pac-Mania to me
This looks like a quality unit. I am excited to see where this goes.
As strange as this sounds, I wonder if they are going to put some non-Pacman based games on here (I'm thinking The Tower of Druaga, Rolling Thunder, Galaxian, Galaga, Dragon Buster and Rally-X). Raised edge center post dpad is intriguing. If the screen quality is actually decent I’ll grab this
This one looks intriguing. Super Pac-Man is probably my favourite version. Looking forward to more coverage. Thanks!
I hope it has ALL the arcade Pac-Man ROMs in there! 😊

My thoughts exactly. At the very least put an IPS lcd in there
This does look premium. I don't have a problem with the new artwork since it's not replacing the classic stuff only celebrating his 45th birthday
Great video! After all these years still love Pac-Man, I still remember when my local Woolworths got the cabinet btw love your tee shirt👍
Hi, Jon. Love that Pan Man pocket Player Max.❤ I’m not sure what some of those game screen shots are on this handheld, besides PacMan.
My prediction for the blurry game at 4:14 is Pacland
A classic
Finally a return to form with multiple games? Color me interested.
(If it saves Highscores then I’m sold)
The image resembling an upside down Pac Land may indicate a flip screen for a left hand preference for the D-Pad.
Oh, wouldn't that be cool!
Could be just dual mono speakers. Either way I'm all in on this one!
Perhaps so. Or it may just be that this shell is reusable and Pac only uses one.
@@GenXGrownUp I think dual mono and stereo for game that support it

Could it be possible to "flip" the screen to allow left-handed play? Thus that could explain what appears to be Pac-Land to appear upside-down.
@@SkiBumMSP Yes, or it could be a "radical game" feature, I've seen time ago

New info streaming out now!
Hey Jon, thanks for all the great content.
My pleasure!
I really hope Ms.Pac-Man gets this kind of love when her 45th follows soon after.
The blurry screens are Pac-Land & Pac-Mania.
👍
You should be the pr guy for my arcade lol :)
Ha! I'm quite happy with our current relationship, as it grants me access to information and products to cover here for you. 😁
@GenXGrownUp yes thats cool your channels are great
Happy New Year Jonny!
And a happy right back atcha!
Hi. Happy new year. My wish for My Arcade devices becoming more interesting: bigger screens! Maybe you can tell them that when you meet them :-) ...
And a Happy New Year to you, too. I've been tellin' 'em, and I'll tell 'em some more next week! 😉
aaah. But remember bigger screens will come at a higher price point. So you have to be careful of what the market is as, once again, these aren't anything "new" and could be an easy pass if overpriced.
I know it would demand more powerful hardware. But a Pac-Man handheld, including "Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+" would be amazing.
Can’t wait for your coverage 😊
Nice t shirt my childhood hero from the 70s 👍👍

I assume it’s the Pacmania from the genesis.
@sheepish_boy I mean maybe maybe you are probably right
The old coleco minis are way better than what My Arcade can come out with……..and that was in the 80’s…….

I can share a great deal more next week.
I would like to see Pac-Man plus added to this GamePlayer . I really liked Pac-Man plus.
So much Pac-Man! Loving it!
The blurry game looks like Elevator Action. Not a Pac-Man game but a fun game requiring two buttons. One for shoot and one for jump. It lines up….Except it’s not even a little bit Pac-Man.
A couple folks have said that, but with it being Taito, I can't imagine it's on the Pac-Man unit.
I’m definitely buying this when it comes out!
Love it
My Arcade should come out with something way bigger, like a big tabletop like Arcade 1up did, something like that would be cool, instead of the same micro players that we always get that aren’t any good……
👌
I think the first blurry picture is pacmania
The blurry game at 4:11 looks a lot like Elevator Action
That would be a shock since EA is a Taito game. Still, one of my faves.
4:22 im pretty sure that that game is pac-land, but i could be wrong
Nintendo needs to make these handhelds for Mario and Donkey kong games
They used to with the game and watch handhelds remember those ? It’s a no brainer , a pocket version of donkey Kong arcade for $25. They would sell !
Great 😊

Have you tried the one they sell with an arcade joystick?
Hi Jon happy new years so the dpad on this handheld let ok like the one on my Evercade handheld
Okay these are getting WAY better. I’m very convinced this might be the largest Pac-Man My Arcade product known.

I need games to include PacMan, PacLand, Pacmania, PAC n Pal, PacMan Plus, PAC Attack, and PacMan Jr. to be satisfied. When does this release?
We don't have a date yet. More to come next week from CES 2025.
I think this hand held a going to be like the rest, junk……

I think you’re right.
Where can I get that hat?!
I got this on clearance with Think Geek was closing its site down right after the Gamestop buyout. I've not seen anywhere to pick it up since.
I'm pretty sure Super Pac Man was in stereo. Even though my Arcade1up countercade is not...☹

They've added hundreds more games this year under license. But Pac-Man will never go away.
I’m sick of devices that have the nes Pac-Man. I truly hope this is the original arcade!
How about MR. Do from My Arcade……
i want one i want the pac man pocket player max for my b-day
🕹️💜
gonna get it
I bet this will cost $76.50!
How did you arrive at that estimate?
@@GenXGrownUp just a reference to the highest score you can get from eating ghosts in Pac-Mania (7650)
We need frogger or space invaders from My Arcade, not the same old pacman crap and this time with stupid sticker looking artwork…….😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well, Pac-Man is not crap, and My Arcade has acquired hundreds more game licenses this year.
Looked like frogger! Who knows lol
Not very likely. I’m pretty sure Sega made Frogger while Namco made Pac-Man.
We are getting tired of pac-man from My Arcade……..

Sorry. I wouldn't grab these tiny players at a yard sale for $20.
Don't be sorry.
