However you look at it this is a very advanced conversation about religion and belief to be happening in the UK today. Within the majority of the population of the country such questions about existence have been replaced with mindless TV watching and going out at weekends to buy stuff that is not really needed. The main problem as I see it with this type of conversation is that it takes place only in the minds of those having the discussion. This is essentially very male in concept and the missing part is experiencing the moment and shifting into a different or altered state of consciousness. It is this altered state that allows our entire selves to understand or at least glimpse the real nature of reality which we could call female and which is very very different from the (male) concept we live with in day to day life. For this conversation to really mean something it must first start from accepting the need for such an altered state and this acceptance can act as a portal towards greater consciousness which is what both these speakers are really talking about. As a sidenote it is interesting to reflect on the notion that it was these type of conversations about faith and reason that created a bridge of understanding between Islam and Hinduism in the Indian subcontinent and which helped to create a flourishing civilisation until it was overtaken by the British empire and its policy of "divide and rule" which led ultimately to the horrors of partition. The ultimate existence is God and he brought you into existence when you weren't even a mention, to be tested and recognize his existence (in faith and action, worship). When you ask what is existence? What logically follows is contingency. How did you come to exist? Your mom and dad, how did they come to exist? Your maternal & paternal grandparents. How did they sustain themselves? Water, food. What types of food? How did they grow? What were they relying on? It goes all the way back to the big bang and prior: a creator. It's sounds INFINITELY MORE LOGICAL than your inability to define existence and that it's all an illusion.

However you look at it this is a very advanced conversation about religion and belief to be happening in the UK today. Within the majority of the population of the country such questions about existence have been replaced with mindless TV watching and going out at weekends to buy stuff that is not really needed. The main problem as I see it with this type of conversation is that it takes place only in the minds of those having the discussion. This is essentially very male in concept and the missing part is experiencing the moment and shifting into a different or altered state of consciousness. It is this altered state that allows our entire selves to understand or at least glimpse the real nature of reality which we could call female and which is very very different from the (male) concept we live with in day to day life. For this conversation to really mean something it must first start from accepting the need for such an altered state and this acceptance can act as a portal towards greater consciousness which is what both these speakers are really talking about. As a sidenote it is interesting to reflect on the notion that it was these type of conversations about faith and reason that created a bridge of understanding between Islam and Hinduism in the Indian subcontinent and which helped to create a flourishing civilisation until it was overtaken by the British empire and its policy of "divide and rule" which led ultimately to the horrors of partition.
