    here's a tip instead of paying for the 5 gallon bucket , i go to a store with a bakery (as you want food grade buckets) ask for the buckets there usually have frosting or donuts glaze that was in them. they give it to me for free. you can get the lids with them and i also use these buckets to start making my wine in to ferment the fruit, keeps the fruit flies out.

I am so thankful because I can actually watch the entire video without Having to stop and go back some which helps me retain the information so much more than when it’s rushed. Thank you so much for helping us especially with the trees.

    Just had our first son last year. We live in SC and my baby momma just inherited some land and a house. God is good! I have a giant pear tree in my front yard and all becuase of your videos and knowledge I'll be able to bring the pear tree with me by using this method! Went out today and scouted the spots Im going to air layer. Come up with 6 good size limbs that Ive decided to take. Once we move in next year by spring I want to have a small fruit tree orchard and grape vineyard in the front yard. Im not rich so I wont be able to give my son all of the fine things but one day in his 20s or 30s he'll be able to eat the fruits of my labour and that comforts me

    It's the same thing with transplanting vegetables in your garden. If they are forming flowers or their particular fruits, you need to pinch them off to give the roots a chance to establish and spread. Gardening is awesome!

    You mentioned that you can’t kill the blackberries. Most people wouldn’t want to do so, but on my 2 1/2+ acres, we had so many when we moved here three years ago that after talking to locals about how to kill them, I went to the local garden supply center and picked up a product called Crossbow. We only had one area that we wanted to clear them out of, so with crossbow being so concentrated, I barely used any to get rid of the blackberries in a stand of trees where they were totally WILD in their growth. We wanted to use that area underneath the trees as a shade spot for relaxation, but we still have plenty of blackberries on our property.

    I started a lemon tree from seed last year. I fertilized it in October and again in March of this year. Kept indoors during the late fall and winter. Will place outside after Mother's Day. To be a year old, it's over two feet tall and bushy. All that growth came during the winter. A southern exposure window did wonders for it and my pineapple plant. the pineapple is producing a fruit after five years. I'm happy so far with my experiments. Now, what will my lemon tree do? Did I mention, I live in an apartment with no back balcony. My unit is on the corner, facing north with great sun coverage during the summer, and indoors sun during the winter months. Just to seeing them grow makes me smile, because I got that from both of my parents.

    So glad I stumbled across your channel man. We had a really extensive garden last year, but bought a house this June, so we were unable to plant anything more than a few container tomatoes this year.
    However, we have about an acre now & are getting ready for next spring. These videos are invaluable for tips, trucks, and propagation techniques. Keep it up man!

    It's really not that bad you can still use the green lemons. Just like green limes are used. They are only green because they pick them early they do turn yellow. i have also used cotton or linen cloth that has been soaked in bees wax to wrap the soil around the branch, you dont have to worry about using plastic, just unwrap the cloth. And i take off some of the branchhes especially some of the lower ones.

    Newbie question - wouldn't it have helped to grow roots better/faster if you had removed a majority of the tiny lemons BEFORE you air layered? Then it could have used its energy for building roots instead of trying to grow the lemons that you ended up removing anyway?

    • @BadKommentator
      @BadKommentator 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it was just to show that it will work with fruits on the tree, but that it is indeed better to remove them before, because they use up most off the energy required to grow roots.
      He explains all of it starting from 1:49 in the video.
