We have a fully-optioned 162 TSI R-Line on order here in Australia (our third Tiguan) - can't wait - it'll be Jan 2017 most likely for us. I think you're having trouble with the remote boot release as your foot is supposed to be at ground level, not kicking up at the tail like in the video? Thanks for the review...

I wish Volkswagen wouldn't dumb down the power on an important segment vehicle like this one.That being said, it looks a lot better than the last generation vehicle both inside and outside as well.
Agree! We've ordered a 2.0 TSI (162kW) R-Line here in Australia, (our third Tiguan) but if it had the Golf R (221kW or 206kW here) engine, it'd be our PERFECT car

They should have put in a few USB ports in the back instead of that 12V connector.
The shots on this video are awesome, really well done! The only thing about this video is the spoken audio track. Likely caused by speaking too quietly and too closely to the microphone. It really bugs me because it could be so much better. Just a tip!

eager awaiting Tiguan R-Line to come to USA - but never a diesel ( very high priced fuel). Wonder what 4Motion VS Quattro differences are since from same mother company. I'm still not sure about buying a vehicle with traditional VS dual clutch type of transmission. Interior looks like heavily borrow from Audi or MB switch gear(high quality)... like the digital gauge package. Cheap head up display design- sad because this is a very useful feature. Glad to see the vehicle is not typically German spartan plain. Fake exhaust outlets should be omitted for new rear look... automatic tow bar is innovative.
How much of a difference in length will the long wheelbase U.S model be compared to the Euro's short wheelbase?
Not quite fully loaded, no rear heated seats?
Has a strong resemblance from some angles to the BMW X series...
Any idea when will it be available in the US?

It is incorrect info in the video on wheels on this car, they say 19 "wheels, there are 20".

What kind of upset me is the US is like second class citizen to VW. They wonder why the VWs does so poorly in the US. with the exception of the Golf. I understand VW USA does not want to compete with their premium counterpart, Audi, but honestly why delay the release? Dumb it down and release it already, and why does VW think it's better to make the tiguan longer for the US? Haven't they learned that it didn't work for the Passat?
Americans have stupid loyalty to the BIG THREEs, their home grown shit.
It is delayed in North America because the NA version is revised to have a longer wheel base and a wide overall road stance. Its not just the US its all of North America.
Yes, it's understood the tiguan will be longer, that's what they did to the Passat, which I own, I dislike the fact they delayed the Passat's release to make it longer. It clearly didn't help with sales for the Passat so why delay the tiguan for nearly the same exact reason. US most likely dictates what NA will get.
In general everything VW and Audi releases are delayed. it's nearly 6mos to a year be we see it in NA. Most models are the same with very little modifications.
It looks like you will get a nicer larger version with the larger petrol engine. Problem is I think its built in Mexico so if Mr T gets into the White House you may never see one! :)
