To me the obvious reasons are: Harris is a woman of color, and the US are far from being ready to vote a woman into the highest office, let alone one of color. Second: the democracy in the US is already pretty weakened, due to the rich having almost unlimited ways to use their money to gain influence. Look at the stock market's reaction to Trump winning - it jumped up, the super rich are celebrating. When the democrats kept pointing at the great economy, they forgot to look at the details, aka who is and who isn't doing well. Now the voting sheep have voted to be fleeced even more strongly, thanks to reason Nr. 3: letting networks like Fox (run by a super rich person) get away with the all the dis- and misinformation they are spreading so freely.
